so these are $40-$80 for a single case that''s basically nothing more than cut plexiglass, that's absolutely crazy

If you can cut plexiglass with such precision, good for you. I can't.

@@searme You could send some DXF files to a laser cutting service and have these boxes for less. If you bought at least 9 of them from this manufacturer, you could've bought a K40-type laser cutter system and enough acrylic to make them.

Cool, but I kind of don't like the use of pieces that can break easily (looking at 42003 specifically) when you pick up the case and strain those connection points. I've also had these types of axle sockets just break on models sitting on the shelf and being moved from time to time to make more room for newer models. If you have such a big box that you may slightly twist when picking up, these are bound to break at some point.
As for the precision - there's no issue with making a box like this with a laser cut plexi or sheet metal if you're not bending and making angled connections. The hard part is making structure that holds it together and while using Technic bricks is a cool idea, I think they did subpar work here (it could've been done better with some system bricks).
Also plexi can scratch easily, that's why we've got hype for tempered glass over plexi in PC cases currently.

I have four of their cases, coming in two separate orders: for Actros, Porsche, Bugatti & Batmobile. Shipped all the way to the Netherlands. Both times packed absolutely bulletproof, so my worries whether it will come intact were for nothing. To be fair, unpacking took me longer than assembling… So i think it was overdone, but as they say…better safe, than sorry. Cases look fantastic in my opinion with lego-matching-color-braces. I have opened them after a year+ to re-arrange and clean, but cleaning on inside was not required, no dust at all. I am biast now, but their product is so much better than the garbage i was ordering before on aliexpress and some very expensive cases from UK, that were barely ok and did not worth so much. Absolutely recommended.

Great find/review. Never felt the need to put many of the creator sets behind a window, however this would really help to keep the Batmobile, and Tumbler dust free. Wonder if there's one tall enough for the tower of orthanc. A major dust magnet that one. Also cute reference to the Shrodinger's cat experiment though a clear box would kind of defeat the purpose of not knowing if the cat was either dead/alive as you would right away be able to see the state it's in.

    • @searme

@@searme Of course not, but if you have a basic tool and average hand dexterity you can drill the holes yourself. @@searme You can probably find a local company that can laser cut acrylic sheets and come out cheaper by avoiding international shipping and customs fees. Some of them can also make boxes by gluing the sheets together. The dust cover I had custom made a couple years ago for an open reel tape recorder cost me the equivalent of 11€

@@alianilsahinci5933 if you find a company thats able to laser cut it its even better. Whip up a quick .dfx file in something like fusion 360 (student edition is free) and sent it to them, that way you don’t even have to drill the holes. And you’ll even be able to make custom sized cases.

I don't want to come off as mean or rude, and I'm sure I'm in the minority when looking at the comments on this video, but I really can't stand the TTS voice you chose here. I understand it might have saved you time but it made the video a pain to watch and it removes a lot of the personality you had with text alone... I know it sounds paradoxical so it might be just me.
It also feels very unprofessional/amateurish in comparison to the other production aspects of your videos which are generally top tier by LEGO TH-camr standards. I really hope this is temporary because one of the things that make you the best LEGO TH-camr is your no-nonsense approach to reviews, commentary, etc.
Again, if you had/have to do this because of a tight schedule I understand it and my intention is not to demean you. I love your vids and have been following you for a long time. God bless!
