- LEGO makes awesome looking 1:8 scale Technic supercars, there are already 3 of them. The problem? They are huge, and you might have a hard time finding a proper place for display.

I am very impressed - it looks incredibly stylish and minimalistic. I also want to mention the cool application of the METOD! Unlike Alex, the contents are completely protected from dust.

Looks incredible! Very unique way to display them. However, I think I’d prefer having them under a dust proof display case. And personally I think I’d appreciate them better if I could see more then just the top. That said, they really do look incredible, especially as a backdrop for your videos

That's another level of displaying the Lego set. But only thing worries me would be the dust. But it looks gorgegous with the logo / brand of the car to be honest.

Those looks really nice! I was looking for a way to display my creator experts sets and I'll give it a look! but I'm not a fan of the same color background, some cars disappear completely, for example the red Ferrari F40. but if they will release a yellow background for the Technic Batmobile from The Batman I'll get it for sure
There are other one in the shop with a grey background. They look pretty good to me. But 300€ for all three 😶
Go to any department store and get a simple black frame (no glass). Hardware stores will sell clear Lexan sheets, matte paint in a can in nearly any colour, and peg board.
1. Peel the protective film off the underside of the Lexan, and clean with dish soap and water, dry with a microfiber towel.
2. Spray the colour of your choice with even strokes. Do it in 2-3 coats as required. Allow 1 hour between coats and final dry time should be 8 hours.
3. Measure out where you want Lego mounting hardware to go for mounting your sets, and use a low speed drill to make the openings in the Lexan.
4. Cut the pegboard to the inside diameter of the frame. Cut additional 1" strips and glue to the pegboard perimeter to make a frame (which will cover the Lego mounting hardware on the underside).
5. Glue the pegboard to the Lexan with the 1" strips facing inwards.
6. Wearing latex gloves, peel the film off the finished side of the Lexan, and place in your picture frame.
If you have the tools, this should cost you no more than $30 depending on the size, and if you can buy Lexan/Picture frame Pegboard in roughly the same size as the final product.
I got the angle bracket for my Mclaren f1 car and some clear plastic sheet then painted it the same colour with a blue border around made a hanging hook so you could set the car flat or angled off abit and the wall bolt is hidden in the middle came out great. Doing another one now
that is actually handy, lol, its always tough to find places for these super cars to display them

Indeed. Display items only, no real functions. That's why I love my car transporter so much. So many functions and the price was reasonable too.
Well, in my opinion, you should have try to mix a little the colours, to have the car on a support of the same color doesn't contrast much... Are they interchangeable? I saw the mounting were different, so, I'm not sure if you could change the car between the different panels after that...

I display some of my speed champion cars in photo frames where I've replaced the glass with a baseplate that I have cut to fit.

Looks good. Personally I would want a clear box around the cars to make dusting easy and as a safety net incase the cars slip the mounting
Honestly I'd rather just the car fall off than the car falling into the "safety net" and then ripping the whole unit out of the wall 😅

Awesome drawer storage, thanks for going to the trouble of detailing it for us. Having priced it up I see what you mean about expensive, but it does look great and functional too.
About the model display mounts, they are pretty good but a little modification so that they stick out at an angle (top or bottom) would show them off maybe a little better.
As an alternative mounting for the models how about wall mounted monitor display stands, that way you could position them at almost any angle, perhaps add a 'lazy Susan' (SNUDDA on Ikea) mounted on the VESA point, paint the SNUDDA for added effect.
So a wall mount nearly as expensive as the car itself. Nice.
I hung mine up with a couple screws and separate Lego beam pieces.
Do they do similar things for Speed Champion models?
That price is ridiculous. those frames with printing and details and everything are worth less than $20 in China, including the technic pieces for mounting and everything customized for basically all the technic vehicles...

So if i'm looking for coloured plexiglass in the same dimensions (40x70cm) the first site will charge me less than 25€ for it, add a generouse 10€ for the sticker and the wall mount and suddenly you can collect dust in style for less than half of the price.

a lot of money for a mounting plate indeed, still catching a lot of dust. (for me, I would rather pay that amount of money for a high-quality display box) but that has nothing to do with this video i know.....

I would have preferred them all to be white. The cars get lost on the same colours. A contrast would have been better. Thanks for your channel, I look forward to all your vids.
If you stand next to them they do not blend in at all, the plates harmonize well with the base color of the cars, looks great!

I loved the idea as it is a nice way to display the models but, I find the plastic Lego been using in recent years to be very soft , and not as strong as it used to be. I be concerned about the model breaking away from the mount and falling.
You'll definitely see some creep over time on the parts that connect to the wall (it's plastic after all) but you'll notice way before it falls off.

just get a sheet of acryl or vinyl and a nail it to the wall for 10-20 bucks lol. This stuff is way over engineered and priced

@@DCLXVIDS well, it is easy to write - I am aware of how difficult it is to cut the vinyl properly and make those mounting points. For sure I will see if my local vendor can do something similar, still - don't know if the pumped versions of the car fits :D
@@andyblondyn1898 you can design it in illustrator and have it laser cut online and send to your address for around 20 bucks. but yes I'm sorry. I'm sure its a nice product and if you are willing to pay for it. who am I to judge it. Personally I have my 3 supercars in an Ikea RUDSTA. Was still 99 when i bought it, its 129 now I think. this thing is also perfect for ATAT if you take one shelve out.

They look great and particularly like the Pur Gris versions for the Bugatti and Porsche but with the discount code, €260 to send to the UK. Doubt the panel costs much to make and as for the wooden and technic mount, I could make that for about €5. Way, way too overpriced. Shame as the thing looks great

Don’t know if it just me but I saw a sneak little Optimus prime box just at the corner of 1:06.
It’s a “Kreo” set. It was Hasbro’s building block range. They had tons of sets out years ago. But nothing since around 2017. And now they have licensed an official Optimus Prime set to Lego.
They look great, but hanging on the wall I’d be worried the cars might fall.
They are secured by hooks, you'd need to knock the whole thing off intentionally

Hi, that HUYL stands looks very nice. The problem is that i´ve been trying to contact the HUYL company on their website, and nobody answer. The only way to contact them it´s by messenger, and nobody see the questions. So for me the costumer service it´s very bad. And for it´s a Big No.

That's on the other side of the room :) I did not want to enclose these in big acrylic boxes, doesn't look so god in my opinion. These are display pieces and not playsets, so I can simply brush them off once in a while.

think they're kinda pricey, 400-500+ euro to hang 4 of them.. for a bit of (colour matched) plexiglass, some technic pieces and wood.. with very little protection from elements (uv, dust, knocking them off, etc).. not sure I can justify that amount when Etsy is filled with interesting mounting ideas, or Ikea can get you a complete display cabinet, with lighting to display and protect your cars..
Is there an American version?
