I did find a little bit of a workaround with the bass and 3rd party instruments if you want to test it out.
I generated the midi out to a file and then put that into guitar pro and then exported the guitar pro midi back out to new file and for some reason that new file sounded good with 3rd party basses. You can even clean up the file more in guitar pro and then makes for pretty easy fine tuning later.

The other glitch is you can’t use the bass player region with 3rd party instruments like you can with the keyboard player
