This is a great combo! Any extra eggplant pieces are great to put on a sandwich. The written recipe is always linked in the description (it's the little "arrow" on mobile and a "show more" on desktop).
Italian pancakes.
Eggplant Parm has always been my favorite Italian dish! :D
Dude you are the real deal , hats off.
A must try... i will soon... thanks for making it look doable and easy...
Hey there wife! You should have joined them... ¡saludos!
Gotta say, this is one of the most homely cooking channels i've stumbled across. You're spilling all of nona's secrets and its grand. Cheers mate
"Homely" in its best, original meaning.
Here’s a good tip to those of those that need them. To remember what order to dip, think of the abbreviation for February. FEB. Flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Yummmmy.
🤣
Ok
Born and raised in the NY metro area and recently moved away. This channel reminds me of all the delicious Italian-American cuisine from my childhood (and I'm not even Italian!) I made this chicken parm (and used the leftovers for a delicious chicken parm wedge the next day) and it feels like I'm right back home. Thank you for sharing your recipes, I look forward to them every week. Truly phenomenal stuff.
When ever I do something like this there's usually some egg and bread crumbs left over. I mix them together to make a patty, give it a quick fry, and top with sauce. "Egg-and-breadcrumb burger" -- good for breakfast, snack, whatever.
good for diabetes as well
My grand father used to do that too but he would also add what ever meat, cheese, and vegetables he had laying around. Usually they ended up with diced red onion , mozzarella, salami and pepperoni. He would make them small like half the size of ur palm and one was more then enough.
We made a little loaf and baked it. Mom called it a “boobeta” but I don’t know if that was a real word or not.
My mother does that when makin cutlet it’s called bread patty it the best when the cutlet runs out 😂😂🇮🇹🇮🇹
My Italian Grandmother did the same thing!
I love the sly smile when your son says it’s delicious! Really appreciate your channel!
I'm Italian, and you make great dishes! I've been sharing them with my mom. She's making the Italian pasta salad for the holiday!
Thanks so much! Hope you all enjoy the pasta salad!
OMG that is the best ever! My Italian grandparents fried the eggplant the same way-just flour and egg! I would have given it a 10 out of 10 also! Your family is precious! God bless you all!
Looked like a 12 out of 10 to me, Doris!!
There was this amazing Italian place in south Florida back in the late 2000s that my older brother and I used to visit together. They did amazing subs, they were big, and they were (for our income at that time) expensive. I was all about eggplant parm, my brother was chicken parm, and the staff were cool enough to accommodate us when we made a custom order for one half to be eggplant and the other half to be chicken. This let the two of us eat a really good meal (free bread at the table too, as always) for about 20 dollars total, tax and tip. One day, by accident, the kitchen got the wrong idea about our order. The result was a sub that was both eggplant and chicken parm the whole way through. Being good sports and not picky eaters, we didn't send it back or complain. We simply discovered that the combination of the two was better than either alone. This video gave me some nice nostalgia back to that time. Thanks for the video!
Don't think I have ever encounterd a cooking channel where I am this excited for every fish you make. This is on another level. Wow.
In all these years, I’ve never thought to put the 2 together. Smart idea, going to give it a shot this week.
I love that you include and interact with your children, it's so important, they will remember the rest of there lives.
i been watchin this guy for years, just realized i didn't subscribe until now, very detailed, tasty cuisines, and follow his receipes and the kids luv em.... bon appetito
Wow, you were very lucky to have a Grandma who made a ton of Eggplant parma! One of my favorite all time dishes! I grew up with German dishes..and I adore all things Italian!
I grew up with my mom making chicken/eggplant combo Parmesan. But it’d be an entire rectangle casserole dish. Best thing ever. It’s the number one dish we’ve always requested to be made.
This looks delicious ! Can’t wait to try. I don’t mind how often you show the preparations for chicken cutlets or eggplant because i find every tip and trick helpful each time ! I also appreciate when you describe the difference in brands of the ingredients you use since not everyone is always looking for the same thing. Keep it going !
Thank you, I really appreciate that feedback!
Hello Sip And Feast Family.....I have to pay homage to your channel. The culinary arts have been a passion of mine for over 20 years....the magazines, cooking shows, books, etc. Dabbled in a year of culinary arts school (unfortunately dropped out)...and I must say this, your content/recipes are frequently types I've never came across or rarely so. Then intuitively sharing these dishes with your son and wife..,.it's inspiring. Thank you for all that you do....
I have trouble following recipes from a book because I am a visual learner. I need to see what "golden brown" looks like. Your videos are so easy to follow. Nothing makes me happier than watching my boyfriend eat the food I made from your videos while I wait for compliments 🤣 Thank you.
Thank you so much and I'm happy you find my videos to be helpful!
Love your show! Just found it today! So good to see a wholesome, family man assisted by your wife & Son! Beautifully filmed & excellent recipes & instructions!👏👏👏
The classics always my favorites. You make these look easy to prepare and I know their so tasty. Don’t forget the spaghetti. Thanks Jimmy
100% on the pasta!
So far I've made a couple of your recipes now. The Caesar dressing was probably some of the best I've ever had and the mushroom pasta cream sauce was divine. Literally every video you drop is an insta-like. Another great video with a recipe I will be sharing with my own family. Cheers!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the comment and so happy you're enjoying the recipes!
You are a great Cook you explain things simple and not to long. Have a great day.
Your son is so adorable
Coming from an Italian/American family, this is right up my alley. Your food always reminds me of growing up and eating at my nana’s house. Love it.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the tip of adding cheese and parsley to the egg mixture. I just made the dish and it was a great addition to the taste.
You have been my go to channel for the last few months now. You do it right & make it easy to follow along IMO. 👍🏼✅
Thanks, man! My goal first and foremost is to show how to do things and not miss any of the details.
Dude,, you’re right. I love those pinwheels! I made them ,, everyone loved them.
This looks great,,my family aren’t big into eggplant but,, this might work.!!
Thank you!
Bravo! Another dish well made. Eggplant is a labor of love, but you make it look so easy.
In South Florida, there was a place called Vito's that called this heavenly mix "the Siciliano". I had to get it! It is hard to find this in most restaurants. There was one in Knoxville, oddly enough too that did it. They were family run, thankfully! Both places also had ricotta in there too. Cheese upon cheese! LOL I just can't get over the beautiful eggplants you continually use! Thank you James for recognizing perfection!
Thanks for the comment!
I am just launching my relationship with eggplant. Loved seeing you handle (slice, drain, dip, fry) this vegetable with such comfort and familiarity. Eggplant is a terrific vehicle to serve up all those wonderful Italian flavors. Happily my Mr. thinks it tastes just fine too.
Really beautiful. I never thought about adding the cheese and herb in the egg wash. Nice, brilliant.
I love your food!! Keep it!
Thanks so much!
Keep it? Keep it up?
I love the way you give options. Cooking isn't cast in concrete like baking is. You have a wonderful family. Your tester is precious. I remember my two when they were that age. Keep up the great. 😊
An outtake! Perfect, that’s what keeps us viewers till the very end. Love those massive cutlets!
❤❤❤, I love how you interact with your son! You are lucky 🍀 to have each other. The recipe is great! Thank you for your efforts.
So good 👍
Jim could you do a eggplant without frying
Zenza Feittura
Love this channel!! Simple and perfect for a pro or a newbie
Thank you for watching and happy you're enjoying the channel!
wow, this dish is the ultimate combo, very creative and looks delish. And the big guy finally gave you a 10. Kudos! all I can say is that dude is eatin good every night! and he has a discriminating palate.
Heaven will be food like this. Problem is: I don't think I'll make it there, so will try to get my 'fill' in this life, thanks to our host for posting this May 27, my 69th bd!!!
You are way up there on my list of Fav Cooking Channels, and yes I do have a written list? Cos I've innavertanly lost some Channel names in the past! I'm slowly going through all your videos! And enjoying every dish, and every recipe🥰
I watch and love every single recipe you post, but more importantly, this is my 18 month old's favorite TH-cam channel. He's so chill whenever you're on in the morning.
Thank you for the comment! So happy you and your 18 month old are enjoying the videos!
Haven’t cooked eggplant in years! I am going to get some this week! James’ enthusiasm is enough for me!
This video is awesome and Jim explains exactly how to prepare chichen cutlets and eggplant! Thank you James for your great help!!!!!
Love the way you teach/explain rationale as you go! Btw, your recipes are AMAZING! 👍👍👍
I have this same Misen knife and I love it! Love your food💕
Thank you!! You are the only one I have ever seen on TH-cam that dries out the eggplant before frying them. I remember my mother cutting them up from top to bottom to get circles and put them in a colander overnight. To this day…I have never eaten eggplant parm that I enjoyed because the eggplant was too soggy. I just subscribed and look forward to seeing all your cooking videos!!
Jim, you seem like a genuinely great guy. Thank you for sharing uncomplicated and fantastic Italian-American food classics.
Thank you, I appreciate the comment!
You have done it again, James your tester gave a 10, always trust James and his professional opinion.
Man I've been making a few of your recipes lately and my Italian family loves all the classic flavors. So many little tweaks and changes you can make and so much flavor. Made this recipe for my girlfriend's birthday. She said she doesn't like eggplant, now she can't get enough.
I tried this recipe last night and I cannot rave about it enough. I like that the ingredients and prep is all organized at the beginning of the video because I had work and shopping to do prior to cooking. I always look forward to your wife and son's review as they are spot on with my taste too. This was definitely amazing so much so that I saved some for lunch and dinner again! Thank you for simplifying the recipes and making it possible for my family to not have to eat out
So happy you liked this one!
@@SipandFeast THANK YOU for being so organized and making this a possible week night dinner with less scrambling! Now onto chicken vesuvio!!
Used your method in preparing and cooking the eggplant... excellent results - the best results ever - salting he eggplant to remove moisture worked great
I love your channel! I can’t believe you only have just over 300 K subscribers. You should have one mill because your channel is so good. I have been looking for an eggplant recipe that doesn’t make eggplants mushy and I found it. I can’t wait to make this chicken and eggplant Parm recipe.
I made your lemon zest and asparagus pasta it was delicious.
Thank you, really appreciate that!
I love your channel and taste testers. Wonderful simple recipes. I used to work with your Mother in law. Thank you
Thanks! Can’t wait to try it! 😋
Thank you so much!
I’ve been watching your videos for several months now. I like your techniques. This one is a dream come true! When dining out I can never choose between eggplant Parm or chicken Parm… This is the answer! Keep the videos coming love your show. 👍
Another winner here from TH-cam's most likeable and relatable chef/cook! Well done, my friend!
Love the idea of just using the flour and egg wash for the eggplant. I’ll make that this week. Can’t thank you enough for the Spinach Gorgonzola pasta salad. I took it to a party and it was a huge hit.
So happy you all enjoyed the pasta salad!
Not one to leave comments but I made this for my family and wow, they were blown away! Thank you for sharing your recipes, you do a really great job from production to the cooking itself 👍🏼
New meal to try! I make them but never together like this. Wonderful idea and James is too cute ☺️ Thank you 😊
I do chicken very similar to you but never have done egg plant. I’ll try this i just never really worked with egg plant - a strange veggie for a boy from the South. But now i love cooking foods around the world - not just grits and fried chicken.
Great looking combo. The judicious and economical use of sauce is an excellent way to go, IMO. It changes and elevates the whole dish.
Thanks so much!
OMGoodeating!!
I am loving your channel!!
I can't stop watching. I made the pasta with the simple cherry tomatoes. Yum! Looking forward to trying some others.
Your son is a great way to end each episode with the tasting. Thank you for breathing new life into cooking Italian etc.for me!!
I'm so happy you're enjoying the channel and thanks for the kind words!
@@SipandFeast 😀
Glad I found your channel. Genuine and detailed. Your son gets to enjoy the food good stuff. One of these cooking channels on tv will call you.
I’m in Italy now and had to check what you were doing this week. My daughter watched with me and afterwards asked me to make this when we get home. I think I just may. Thanks.
Thanks so much and enjoy your time in Italy!
@@SipandFeast always do. It’s just wonderful to be able to travel a bit more freely. Italy is still wearing masks quit a bit.
Cooking eggplant frightens me....but I trust you enough to do this dish. Much luv.💝
This recipe is SUPERB, and 100% worth the effort.
One of my favorite cooking channels ever!!! Mouth watering recipes and easy to make...love it!!! Thank you ☺️💚🤤
Thank you! So happy you're enjoying the channel!
Love your relaxed approach.
Can't go wrong with the classics! I bet the parm sandwiches the next day were AMAZING.
Two of my favorites combined into one dish... I don't know why I never thought of it... I guess that's why you're the professional 😉😉😉
Sir. You are my favorite chef you make every recipe so easy to follow 5 out of 5 stars for you
I made this last night ! So good! I have never fried anything before and didn’t have a spoon for the oil lol! I must have watched this video 100 times. It was so good! This is my go to Italian cooking channel! The eggplant was so good.
A chopstick works, too.
I fall more and more in love with your Channel with each video you upload!!! Still so happy I found you! Very amazing recipes. 💖💖
Thank you so much, really appreciate this comment!
10 James'es' !!! i shared this video with my 82 year old mom and my 92 year old dad !
Thank you! I hope they liked the video!
Good job man. Grew up in a Italian and cajun french family here in Louisiana and this is a dish I never had together. It was either Chicken or Eggplant parm but i wanted to try both and this video proved i wasn't crazy lol. Now if only I could keep my composure like you when frying everything 😂 I always feel like i was in a 10 round fight with Tyson after frying. Good stuff, trying it out tonight 👍
I just found your channel and tried this recipe. So good! My entire family loved it, something that is hard to achieve with 4 kids. I can't wait to try more of your recipes. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much!
Made this dish tonight exactly as referenced in the recipe. It was fantastic.
As a cook who took immense pride in my knife skills, I have to complement you on your excellent technique with a knife!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Love this show Especially James the taster/tester🥰
I've stumble upon your channel today and now I feel like I have to buy new utensils, do some groceries and cook for the whole family (shouting for the kids to stop eating before the meal is ready while I eat some to just check if there's enough salt). I loved the peaceful family vibe I got from the video.
I really enjoy the input from your son, thanks for the video.
I have done something similar, but I made like a eggplant and chicken Parmesan lasagne! First a layer of the fried eggplant then the ricotta and mozzarella, then the fried chicken and cheeses, then repeat the eggplant layer and I served it casserole style!
That sounds fantastic!
This is a Masterpiece, in the Actual sense of the word. Such composure is superhuman
Respect
Thank you so much for this Eggplant dish. I am learning how to cook a little more healthily and trying to lose weight. I never cooked Egg Plant and didn't even know any recipes until I have seen this video. So thanks again, you're awesome!
Hi! I have been following you for quite some time already and it is great to see that your subscribers are increasing! Well deserved! All your videos are great and delicious!
All the best!
Cristina
I have made chicken parm. I have made eggplant parm. I never would have thought of layering them together into a beautiful lasagna type structure. That looks like enough food for at least six people. I hope everyone was hungry!
In case anyone wants to know… that’s true about the knife you’re advertising. I bought that one and a paring knife. AWESOME!
WOW! U'r amazing. Enjoy every one of ur videos + relish recipes!
I hope James realizes already how lucky he is to have his old man cooking all this great food every day/week. I didn't fully appreciate how good a cook my mom was until she wasn't.
You got a good fry on the cutlets and eggplant. Nice and brown and they look fork-crispy. I gotta hear that CRUNCH when I cut into something like that. And I gotta say, the recipes you present never disappoint.
Nice work Jim. I'd like to enjoy this right now. Perfect 10, as usual!
I made the blackened chicken Alfredo last night. It was a hit! Tonight I’m tackling this one. Can’t wait. I look at a LOT of TH-cam recipe channels….yours has moved into my TOP two. Very well done!!!!!
Thanks so much and happy you enjoyed the chicken Alfredo!
Just wanna say I bought the MIZEN on your advise. It cost more than I was hoping to spend (Canadian $) but 100% the best knife I've used. Well worth it!
You had me when you said you loved your grandmas cooking ❤
Whenever someone asks what show I'm watching, I say Jim Sip and Feast. 👏 My preteen now has the pallette of a seasoned food critic. 👌
God bless your grandma!
Made this the other night and it was a big hit!! All of your recipes are great and will make several more!! Love James!! Great kid!!
Thanks so much!
Jim, do your neighbors just happen to drop by around mealtime? That's what used to happen when my mom cooked pasta. We didn't have AC in my childhood, so on warm days we'd fling the windows and doors wide open. My brother was friends with his classmate "B" who lived next door. B would get a whiff of my mom's sauce and invent some pretext to wander over. He'd say, "Gee, Mrs. R, whatever you're cooking sure smells good," and of course my mom would invite him to join us. The funniest part was, B's family had dinner at 5:30pm sharp every night, while we usually ate around 7:00pm, and B would put away TWO dinners with no problem!
You make me want to spend more time in the kitchen. This is another fabulous recipe. Your tips and suggestions are excellent. Thanks for sharing with your fans!
Thank you so much, really appreciate the comment!
Italian grandmas are the best cooks !
I enjoy watching every video. Very delicious I must say and easy to make from all your excellent experiences and teachings. Thank you!
Having your adorable Son involved, and to be able to critique is an added bonus, since I myself have two of my own 🧒🏻🧒
Purchased the Misen Chef knife... currently nursing a major cut on my hand. haha Blade is fantastic and incredibly sharp. Handles feel great in hand as well.
I always say what you're making is the Best thing you've ever done..but with this one, you're killin it👌❤❤❤
