Hahaha you're SUCH A LEGEND!!!! What you maybe lack in swimming training you MORE than make up for in pure HEROICS brother... MASSIVE thank you for being a ice swimming spartan!
Well done lad. Been a fan of Ross for a while now and recently (last few days) discovered your vids Matt. Love them! Been binge watching them for a few days now. Love what you do and Ross does! BIG fan of both you Legends, great vid guys. Love to see more, maybe some eating ones, maybe some gym lifting ones!?
@BDom Welcome Aboard! I've been subbed to both these guys for a while now, and their content has really helped me out. Awesome to see new subs coming in to this channel because it's crazy how low Ross's sub count is with the amazing quality content he puts out. You should really check out Joe Delaney's channel, he has collaborated with Matt before and he puts out some awesome videos as well. Cheers!
awww thanks so much broski... was SUCH a fun day with Matt though (and his entire family)... also love the people of Hythe (Kent) and they have EPIC flapjack and hot chocolate, haha
Your personality, content quality, ideas, attitude and knowledge are all just incredible. Your body is insane and your achievements are beyond that and at the same time, you have such vast knowledge of sport science and training. I also love the way that you link your ideas into history, functionality and integrate philosophies and theories into your videos. You also explain it very well so people like me with no qualifications other than spending most of their spare time outside of gym and work researching fitness and stuff, can understand you and incorporate your knowledge and ideas into their life and programmes. Your podcast was amazing, please keep making more videos I don't know how else I can consume your content haha.
Matt; I can't feel my legs or hands Ross Yea Matt: Im so cold I feel like I'm dying Ross: yea.. Matt: legs just dropped off just seen it float past Ross Yea that can happen.. let's keep moving 😂
It amazes me how Ross is so unphased by any level of adversity; from running barefoot with a huge weight absolutely pummeling your feet, to swimming 6 hours on 6 hours off for half a year in less than tropical temperatures, to spending all day thrashing his nervous system in the gym for half a day, I mean hell. How does someone build that kind of resilience?!
I've been following you on social media for literally years now. I never really bothered to leave a comment until now. I just wanted to say that I'm always so impressed by the high quality of your content. I adore your positive outlook on physical activity and life altogether. You are an absolute LEGEND.
Ross, I'm 100% serious, if we meet up, we're doing an ice mile, I'm Finnish and currently doing 3 ice swims a week. Have you ever done the ice mile and would you be willing to do one with me?
You and nick bare need to train togther man. That would just be awesome. Love the positivity and love for adversity. You’re an awesome role model for young men. 🤙
You're such a nice person. Love how you try to explain everything and even tho you definately wanted to go further, you still let him know he did amazing. You deserve more subs than you have now.
Ross's content is amazing!! He has so much fun and he explains everything so well. I feel like I'm in school, but I'm excited to go. Every time he stops to explain something, his eyes light up and he smiles like a kid in a candy store. Quality content and such a genuine love of what he does.
Absolute legends! Avid fan of both so I was excited when I saw a picture that you had collaborated... And the video far exceeded my expectations 🙌 Great work guys👌💪🏊 👍
The quality of the production of your videos is epic. Camera work, music, transitions, angles, just everything. When I think back to how TH-camrs used to make content, your videos stand out like a Universal Pictures production or something!!
Aye Ross, Your ability to stay positive and simply smile despite extreme adversity and push on really motivates me to go the extra mile whether I'm studying or swimming or running every single day. Absolutely inspired by your attitude and your drive. Cant wait to take an ice bath after my swim tomorrow! Keep making videos!
Passed para assesment and just back from open water swimming, variety is the spice of life. Those early start swims post weight session is amazing for me to focus for the day.
I just love Ross. I have both his books on fitness. I'd love love love a book about his positive mindset and how he remains cheerful no matter what, I want so badly to be like that!
You were so encouraging, motivating, cool (pun intended) on Matt's video [that I just came from] that I had to come and subscribe. The HUGE SMILE and laughing, along with the badass things you've done - yeah, you're a beast Ross! :D ♥
Mad respect for this! Jumped in a pool (was a pool with water literally from the sea) in Finland last year which was 3°C and immediately I was uncontrollably hyperventilating. Got out after about 10 seconds and realised cold water swimming is NO JOKE. Great life lessons here!
Mega to watch this. So good. Getting I to open water swimming recently and doing the Neptune Steps in Glasgow in a few weeks. Can't wait. All the best man.
#SubToRoss !!! Ross my man, YOU are an absolute legend. I've been a follower for quite some time now and for what it's worth I am beyond proud of you for your accomplishments over the years. You've been a tremendous inspiration to me and I cannot thank you enough for how you've influenced the fitness community. Seriously though, keep up this kind of content and I promise those sub numbers are going to skyrocket exponentially. Keep up the great work, you've got a super fan in me LOLOL
Dude! Ross man you are a LEGEND! I read your book and believe it or not the same stories about Milo and the bull (progressive overload) came up in my Ancient History lesson at school. What I like about the way you train, the things you train and the way you do it are not that complicated, easy simple, effective and no crap about it. LEGEND!
Really looking foward for more video ! I want to know more about you, your fitness routine, your diet, how you become the way you are and what you do for living etc... All personnal stuff lol but i love the way your are !!
Awesome video. As a middle aged woman who has been on my own fitness journey for 3 years, I appreciate the inspiration you provide. Ross, you remind me of my brother! Non stop former gymnast doctor who only ever felt really under the weather while enduring ameobic dysentary while hiking a mountain in South America.
LETS GO BROBARIAN! Thinking of scheduling my next swim supersetted with uphill hiking sprint intervals in in Vancouver. Water temperature is only at 7 degrees, but hoping it drops a bit more to really tap into that sympathetic nervous system. Best to do it at night where the The theory is to use the norepinephrine response to spike performance.
This reminds me of going camping and my father taking us (including my grandmother) down to the river (Northwest US) in May, at 7AM for a dip in the river which was fed by freezing, glacial, volcanic runoff! Boy was that cold....definitely woke us up!
As a year-round swimmer - don't dive into open water especially in the current temperature range. Ease yourself in and acclimatise. Read more here : www.outdoorswimmingsociety.com/category/survive/cold/ Do it with experienced people and do NOT push yourself to a time that you see on a clock. Swim within your comfort levels. Acclimatise over a couple of weeks. There is always tomorrow.
Hey Ross, great video and good to see you in the water again, but what's the logic behind running without putting at least some clothes on first? Whilst you are surely generating heat, with wet limbs and torso, the wind is whipping that heat away. 😜🏊
What a boss you are Ross! Got in that water like it was nothing! Hate the fact that you're amazing at everything you try! 😂 😂 You do deserve more recognition though, keep it up!
I've been in 9 C water a few times but got back out asap. Does that count? It was in summer so I don't really know what's really harder either. You guys rock! Positivity oozing out of my screen the whole time
thanks for this. I have lived near the equator for more than 20 years and then went back to South Africa for Scuba Diving. If I had known this before I went, and did some training, I would have fared much better. My friend from Northumberland put me to shame in-home water!
Matt: is dying
Ross: Calmly explains the science behind why Matt is dying.
