I really appreciate how Matt always goes way out of his comfort zone to make enjoyable content for us. From pole dancing to triathlons, he's always trying something new and thats what makes him one of the more admirable youtubers nowawadays.
i've done triathlons, half marathons, marathons, and a 50k with no training (0-4 days of "training") but i'd be out if anybody tried to make me swim in that water, props to you and welcome to the tri club, matt!
Yesssss - Fergus is an animal, literally one of the all-round fittest men in the UK (arguably the world with a few of his achievements), and has the most criminally undersubbed channel on TH-cam - so cool to see this, and well done for sticking through Matt, solid shift!
Appreciate how Matt takes every challenge seriously, from backflips with Nile to a triathlon with Fergus. Thank you for going above and beyond to provide us with solid content, mate.
Okay this has to be my favourite video ever!! As a triathlete myself, I know how hard your first triathlon is so major kudos to you Matt! Thanks for creating this video for us🙌🏽🙌🏽
Wow, I’ve been doing triathlons for 12 years and have NEVER seen weather conditions like that for triathlon 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Fergus properly stitched you up there 😆😆😆😆 fair play you got it done though. There’s a reason triathlon is a summer sport though……..
By far one of my favorite videos from Matt. Matt suffering has got to be one of the most entertaining things to watch. Props to you Matt for pushing your comfort zone. Can't wait for that Olympic distance video
I attended my first sprint tri with no training a few years ago. My only goal was just to not be last lmao. And I just barely made it with 5 people finishing after me. Matt definitely is really incredible to always push himself. It’s not easy! And I love that even as incredibly fit as he is, he always shows the hard work and sweat, instead of faking it and pretending it’s all always a piece of cake!!
Because matt loves running (Sarcasm) more than any event, i think ultra marathon would be fun to watch especially somewhere in the mountains like the leadville 100
15 year olds on regional level have times of 1:10 and Matt took almost 2 hours....so yeah ...not really almost keeping up, but still a great effort :) The swimming always hits harder then most people think...main reason for cramps later on if you're lacking training ;-)
Matt I have a video idea! You should do a “Bodybuilder goes clothes shopping” series. Go into a basic off the rack retailer (whatever the British equivalent is of JCPenney, Macy’s) and film yourself trying to find a good fit with your crazy proportions. It would be hilarious and I’m sure many of your viewers could relate.
@@MattDoesFitness And take a crazy thick woman with you because we've got it even harder. Clothes don't fit us normally, add muscle and we're screwed! AND tailor's don't really exist for women so we can't just get suit pants or something like guys can.
@@Ailieorz in UK there's a shop called yours where its easier for woman who are usally struggling to get clothing that fits in normal shops like peacocks A shops in UK
The struggle is real. I got measured up for a jacket by a tailor the other day but still couldn't bloody get into it because they don't take into account the widest parts. They just measured chest, arm length and torso length but didn't take into account wide back and big shoulders.
You need to do a Spartan race!!! If any I recommend the BEAST in Vermont at Mount Killington it is one of the hardest. The beast courses are around a 14 mile obstacle course race. You should do competitive or elite to have a more open course. If you want more of a challenge do a Spartan ultra race. They are 30 miles and take around 8-10 hours to complete. The community is very welcoming and high energy.
Somehow missed this, but the TH-cam algorithm sorted me out today! Fair play to you Matt, sea swimming is SO much harder! Also reminded me why I no longer do triathlon, which is appreciated.
Matt that was awesome Mate! Love the way you always push yourself way out of your comfort zone for the fantastic content you make for us! Shout out to Fergus and the support crew great work. Brilliant vid all!! 🙏
When one of the more trained guys on yt struggles so hard while Fergus looks like hes out of a short jog... Holy shit what a beast. Id probably be dead halfway through the cycle
Transition from bike to run is a killer, I found the first 5k the worse when running an Ironman .. tbh I’m 48 so come on Matt you Girl lol .. followed Fergus 🤟🤟
Damn- around 2hours for it waa definetelly not bad... watch Matt slowly falling in love with triathlon. Trying and finishing an olympic size triathlon would be quite an achivemenment and a challenge for you Matt (40km bike, 1.5km swimming and 10km run). I read in the comments and also liked the idea of you going into clothing store while getting a list of clothes for you to find that you have to check off, you can also go with Sairs to see the difference between sizes for example. It would be a way for you to get some content while buying some clothes. You can also put into that list some clothes for you to buy to Luca or even have him involved in the video😁 I would love it🥰
We own a transport delivery company so if you ever need bikes , motorbikes, trikes , quads cars and boats and jet skis etc we will deliver anywhere to anywhere in the country and Ireland!! You could have flown down and we would have delivered all your equipment! X well done Matt! Fab content as always!😎😎👏👏
I said this before but need to say it again. I think it would be such a cool video if you try to train like / with cameron buchan or even do a 2k on the rowing machine. Aswell as if you try to learn how to row the single scull. I think rowing has much potential and some cool youtubers to collab with
Classic! It was fun to see you suffer. When the gyms closed I started training for my first triathlon, but that was a full Ironman with a year of training. I have all the respect for the athletes who can maintain a good amount of muscle mass while doing good on an Ironman. Next video should be the full distance (but train a little for that beforehand).
Matt’s thought process; Summer/warm conditions - let’s go to every fast food place and order the lowest calorie food. Autumn/freezing conditions - let’s swim in the sea, then cycle and run. All for the content. Legend!!
"My cardio is so bad, I'm like a 90 year old with asthma whinge whinge" - Does a sprint triathlon without too many issues. You're not fooling anyone, Matt. 😁
Well done mate! I think the reason why you might be feeling like you can breath with your face in the water is your aren’t exhaling through your nose while your face is in the water. You need to exhale while your face is in the water and in hale when you turn your head to breath. It helps set a rhythm for your strokes and your breathing. I think you are exhaling and in halibut at the same time when you turn your head.
Matt has said if this comment gets 1000+ likes then we'll book an Olympic Distance Triathlon in ASAP 👀
😂😂😂
Fergus please take @ObiVincent out next, he at least has his own bike
lmao
Yes maaate!! 😂 great video!! Good job. As a fellow “enjoy different sports guy” I appreciated this video :)
Matt better do an actual triathlon with you, to do iron man’s then just this with him…..
I really appreciate how Matt always goes way out of his comfort zone to make enjoyable content for us. From pole dancing to triathlons, he's always trying something new and thats what makes him one of the more admirable youtubers nowawadays.

Ah thanks maaaate
By eating his brothers. Sisters.wife food for the day??
Couldn’t agree more
so true man
Matt looking and sounding so confused after swimming is actually everything 😂
😂
i've done triathlons, half marathons, marathons, and a 50k with no training (0-4 days of "training") but i'd be out if anybody tried to make me swim in that water, props to you and welcome to the tri club, matt!
50k is madness! Nicely done mate 🙌
So you did them whilst training ?

I just love the collaborations on ur channel. From Videos with Mike, Eddie, Nile to this one with Fergus now...they have all been amazing.
Appreciate it maaaate
15:09 i was literally crying.. them hand movements and expressions from Matt 😂😂😂😂
One of only two GymShark Tri-suits, and Matts rolling on the floor in it! 😂😂 solid effort by the way! 👍🏽👍🏽
😂😂😂
Just did my first 10k after loosing 2 stone. Still at 19 stone and it felt such an achievement! Good effort mate. Cardio achievements hit differently
Keep it going mate smashing it💪🏻
Ah that’s awesome! 🙌

1st Tri is only as hard as you preparation.

Matt has done so many challenges that he is pretty much trained for everything
Almost every challenge, Matt says “I never run, I going to fail this” and then runs at better then average pace.
This is a certified hood classic
Yessssss
100% book in more videos as a duo, really enjoyed the dynamic!
Matt really goes all out for his content and always putting himself out of his comfort zone for his viewers and that is awesome!

Some peoples videos on utube get boring as the years go on but yours are never boring! You are amazing 💪🏻
Hey Matt I was the kid that said hi I’m subbed to you just before we got on the plane it was a pleasure to meet you

Gotta respect Matt for this one!! Gruelling, and he just cracked on and did it, big props dude!👏🏿
Having run and cycled on that promenade, swam in that bit of sea. I can confirm it sucks, sucks bad! Well done big guy!
Haha! Cheers bud
Cajonnes for the swim. Plus sub 30 minutes on the 5k run is respectable under the circumstances.
Nice going Matt!
Came to comment the same thing! Couldn’t believe the run time- he’s fitter than he gives himself credit for
Appreciate it mate 😊
@@MattDoesFitness credit where it’s due👍🏽
Woah that was intense!! Great times too! Love Saira laughter as she pummelled the quad lol
Why was I laughing so hard. Matt legit breathing out his arse. 🤣 well done tho!
😂😂😂
We need a holiday vlog with the main man Luca
I’ve watched this video so many time. It’s admirable, funny and very engaging to watch.
Yes Fergus!! Loved this!
Because matt loves running (Sarcasm) more than any event, i think ultra marathon would be fun to watch especially somewhere in the mountains like the leadville 100
Matt says his cardio sucks but he’s out here almost keeping up with athletes in their area of expertise
Fergus was literally cruising mate but appreciate the kind words

love the way fergus keeps the sleeved wetsuit for himself !!!
In fairness, this was purely out of fear of Matt not fitting in the sleeves 😂 no sleeves no problem...
😂

Haha! Don’t think I’m quite ready for that mate 😭
No training? You already did a triathlon in your house mate! 😅
Haha! True
Matt never fails with the content 👏🏼
On a mad one right now tbf
Real commitment from Matt, getting videos out when he's on holiday.
The form swimming out to that rock pile was pretty good though tbf :)
Somehow missed this, but the TH-cam algorithm sorted me out today! Fair play to you Matt, sea swimming is SO much harder! Also reminded me why I no longer do triathlon, which is appreciated.
This is absolutely remarkable content, well done Matt!
Thanks maaaate
Love how the video cut just before matt hit that massive pothole on the bike. 😂
"No training" matt has been training years for this.🤫

Really did not expect matt to do that aswell as he did! fair play lad 💪🏻
Thanks bro
That effort deserves a ‘like’ 👍🏻
I’ll take it
Fair play, that was a quick 5k too after the other two events! Top content 👌🏻
Thank youuu
Great to see you guys do a Triathlon ! Next one an Olympic Distance ?
The Gymshark suits are really nice. 🤩💕
Would love to see Matt go through an Olympic track workout with Nick Symmonds!
Your face before the 5km was my same expression when I realized I had cardio to do at end of morsia workout 😅

Great video, amazing effort by Matt.

Fantastic effort there, I would’ve literally died after that.
Nothing better than jelly legs after bike leg. It was entertaining as I am training for Ironman 70.3 :D

calm down, he did a 28 min 5k which is useless. Just "completing" a sprint triathlon is like a bath followed by a short cardio session.
