I love your content and your energy Ross. Your swim around Britain, with its clearly established metrics (start/stop in the same spot) gained you real kudos in the marathon open water swimming community. Conversely you gained a reputation for obfuscation bordering on disrespect with your 'longest swim' attempts, and frankly I'm concerned you're compounding that again. Amazing video Ross! It's so great that you share your love for water. Swimming is such an amazing sport and it's lovely to see you enjoy it, keep going with these great videos. If it doesn't bother you, I'd like to give you a suggestion, a tip for the next videos: Basically, you could try inserting some comic and funny stuff... to give everyone a pinch of humor that, in the world of swimming, can never be missing. Now, I don't think much of it, but the first thing I could think of in your sport might be peeing in the water. Once, my uncle, who is a scuba diver, peed in his wetsuit during a long diving session and that moment was absolutely funny, he even wrote "I’m peeing" on a waterproof notebook during the session. He has always been telling me that there are 2 types of divers and swimmers: those who pee in the water and those who lie. I know it may sound strange as a request but, in my opinion, these are moments of happiness and carefree that always make everyone smile. I hope you like the idea and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Oh GOOD question… so we have a documentary coming out later this year that actually sheds some light on my odd (hobbit) physiology haha 😂 but short answer is ensuring you eat enough whilst still doing strength prehab… I think a lot of swimmers sometimes neglect strength work
Great content looking forward to more. Does anyone know if Ross has left Gym Shark and moved to Gym King or was it just a random hoodie, just interested
MASSIVELY appreciate this brother!! And oh, so left gymshark this year (very amicable and still love the guys there)… BUT the Gymking hoodie does fit well 😉 😂
Rhabdo Ross, christ. Had that twice, last time, 3 days on IV and constant kidney monitoring. I've been terrified of training ever since. Any insight you have on coming back from it would be appreciated.
GOOD question… I’ve found not very… I will be SWIMMING IN LACTIC and dying and HR says 110… I think the chest straps make it more accurate and need to trial them but at lboro we sometimes do blood lactate which is so much more accurate 🙏
@@RossEdgley Fair - I have also found wrist HR quite inaccurate - and the chest strap is a bit annoying to have on for swimming since it either comes off when pushing or it's too tight. Lactate sounds like a good compromise but it also makes it impossible to have continuous monitoring (yet). I have personally computed zones based on some threshold tests on 200 and 400 meters and usually stick to those paces + feelings. Excited to see more numbers coming out!!

How do you keep all that good muscle whilst attempting these mad endurance feats?
Oh GOOD question… so we have a documentary coming out later this year that actually sheds some light on my odd (hobbit) physiology haha 😂 but short answer is ensuring you eat enough whilst still doing strength prehab… I think a lot of swimmers sometimes neglect strength work
This sounds epic!
MASSIVELY APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT!!! seriously means A LOT (especially third time around)
Hey Ross, Do you swim with music in? if not do you meditate and keep your mind still or does your mind wonder when swimming long distance?
Love it, let's go

How accurate is actually HR while swimming from the watch?
Distance and Donuts....couldn't love you more!!!
Haha 😂 it’s becoming the training camp mantra haha 😂 ❤️ x x x
NEW LIFE GOAL - One day I want Ross Edgley to refer to me as either a 'broseidon' or a 'spartan brother' 😂🙌
Good on you lad. 😎
