This. This is EXACTLY why I quit BB3. The ladder rules make dorf ridiculously broken. Dwarves are overpowered in the current rule set anyway but the ladder rules make them obnoxious.
My guess is after guard he takes a random, or after stand firm starts to take randoms. Relatively easy to recycle bad players for new ones with that many matches played.
He actually did take a stupid amount of random , you can check his team top 100 , orc do the same. If he don't get it , he just fire the player and try again. It's just an absolute dumb strat , it's just prove how broken random is on open ladder.
Again I dont understand how they missed the fact that since random skill are half off, this point could have been abused. Just how?? Unless you put an actual hard cap to the amount of possible skills/traits
Let’s be honest, cyanide/nacon are not the best to provide refined products. I am certain they didn’t know what redraft meant and maybe now they know... But the game always was broken with the open. In bb2 it was clawpomb, here it’s guardspam.
With ladder balancing like this who needs hacks Cyanide. One of my favorite parts about bloodbowl was never knowing what team I was going to be facing. Now its just an easy guess. Incert tv efficient team with strength access and dump truck of randoms. And dont forget to add a dash of inducements against you because you dared to play off meta. But at least I can pay for cosmetics so my team looks great as a pile of corpse🥳
They have to remove random from ladder play , it's just way to unbalance , team that do the best in open ladder are team exploiting it in top of having the cheapest roster as possible , it's not fun to face an orc/dwarf full random ... Fun fact you can check his team now in top 100 to see how retard random is at the top . Easy just play dwarf or orc full random and 1 reroll and stomp everyone. In general there is many thing i don't like in BB3 ruleset ...

@sinjoh53 it is not easy to build viable 'random skill' team. Takes a lot of effort, so not many ppl do it. Patrick is one of few dedicated 'no life' players, but his team is not immortal - players will get injured and die. They are then hard to replace (because they rely on RNG to stay on low TV). And coach must go to 'grind' again, which believe me, is not much fun. If you really want to make a bad day for 'tinkered' dwarf / orc team, just build 'claw/guard' chaos team. You will see many many concedes alongside of many many dead dwarfs/orcs ;-)
I've done double randoms on black orcs every season but this one. It's not hard with the strength tree. Even though black orcs aren't cheap and don't get a lot of money their armor keeps them alive and well. His low tv is guaranteed. Look at his team again he cut all the positionals but 1 runner and the blitzers. Good luck beating the odds on his av 10 long beards. He has only 1 team reroll. It's blood bowl nothing is immortal we all know this, but is it likely to hurt his team enough to matter or just lower his tv more? The investment for a chaos team is way harder. I only play chaos now and not for the claws. It's so boring when everyone just gets stuck in a ball. Chaos can actually move away and horns makes it harder to pin them down. Keep in mind this is mainly frustration with Cyanide's ladder. This is a non concern in table top.

Dwarfs are like a mud, they are very sticky if you touch them. So, rule no.1 - DO NOT BASE dorfs! Rule no.2 - they are the slowest team in the game, so STRETCH them thin. They are strongest when piled together (with guard spam), but they can easily got outpositioned. I think that Andy was too aggressive and did not utilize his team (8mv) mobility to his advantage. That is why they beat the s**t out of his team. Also, that T16 wolf position was rather a silly mistake (if we consider how Andy always talks about T-shapes and how to utilize them :-D ) Better luck next game! Cant win them all.. ;-)
It's funny to say not to base dwarf but depending what you play , you don't have much choice , dwarf are badly design from the start , 2020 rule + random make everything worse.
So he barely scraped a victory, despite all of Andy's b!tching and moaning and complaining. Imagine if Andy actually went into games with a more positive frame of mind, he might actually win more often!
