The MG 5 is a series of compact cars that has been produced by SAIC Motor under the MG marque since 2012. The first generation MG 5 was launched on 28 March 2012 in China, and shares the same automotive platform as the Roewe 350 saloon car.

Set to compete against other subcompact sedans in the country, the all-new MG 5 promises to deliver British design and engineering under the umbrella of SAIC Motors. It's the fourth model that MG brings in the Philippines under the distributorship of The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI). The MG 5 sedan sports an aggressive front end and a clean side profile that follows the modern interpretation of MG’s sporty heritage.

The MG 5 isn't bad at all just performs a little but better than the Emgrand cuz of the Torque. Tech for both cars are somewhat similar but sadly this MG 5 gets overshadowed a lot!
This doesn’t have a telescoping steering wheel. Emgrand’s approach is a perfect balance between fuel efficiency and sufficient power especially for city driving. Wouldn’t you agree?

@@JohnAgustinScuderia458595 city yes but almera, maybe if they add another cylinder to make it an inline-4 haha and maybe that turbo well it’s fine but it makes it more magastos for the working class dba. mahal paltan and the abala isn’t worth it. but styling-wise of course Almera pogi. and also a/c it’s legendary haha

Yes parts availability was an issue for MG but I totally since they're still new to the market. Since then though the parts availability and service improved. 😁
For a first time driver, what is better geely emgrand comfort or mg5 cvt core?
Both are very easy to drive! 😁
The Geely is slightly more expensive now. The MG5 has a bigger boot space, more horses and more torque. I've read in the forums that there's something you can adjust in the CAN settings to fix the cvt lag.

@@JohnAgustinScuderia458595 the Emgrand does have 5 liters more fueltank space, rear AC vents. Aftersales here in Cebu for MG is also topnotch based on owner reviews I've read in the Cebu channels.
