Price difference is very Negligible. However, the MG5 is flooded with features making the vios look outdated.
Vios is outdated. But the reliability is probably still unbeatable.

I think the "parts scarcity" in new cars is already a myth. Its 2021 now and logistics are now better and improved.

I was being discouraged by a lot of my uncles/father/father-in-law from buying my MG because of that old mindset "mas maraming piyesa pag Toyota" and I think this is now a thing of the past. MG has a lot of service centers, e-commerce has also made it easy to source for parts too, and from a design, features, and performance aspect, the MG 5 is clearly the better sedan. It's bigger and roomier, has more features and looks way better than most subcompact sedans at this price point. I hope more young professionals like me aren't discouraged to buy from this brand just because the elderly says so.

Walang duda maglilipana ang mga parts kaya high demand din ang parts ng vios kasi ang daming vios sa kalsada natin unlike mg5 or alsvin bagohan lang. Pero wag ka pre! Baka ilang months or taon lang mauungosan pa yang vios sa sales and maglilipana din mga parts nyan sa after market.

MG5 core mt user here. top speed 198 to 199 di talaga aabot ng 200 dahil naga limiter na sa 6.5k rpm. mileage so far pag city drive around 5kmpl to 12kmpl and pag long distance around 16 to 24kmpl(60 to 70km/h takbo ko sa 24kmpl dahil 210km ang na biyahe ko sakto lang ang 9 liters of regular gas bago mag warning na low fuel ulit and apat kami sa loob at may mga gamit sa trunk). issues lang is too soft suspension and seat level. sumasayad sa mga humps na medyo mataas pag 5 persons ang karga ng sasakyan at driver seat level naman dahil sa height ko na 164 cm need ko sagad ang driver seat to the front at konti lang sa hood ang makita ko. overall rating ko is worth it ang MG5 in terms of price, for durability and reliability mag 6 months palang sa akin ang unit naka 56k nako sa odo so far wala pang problema and for parts availability, complete nman si casa para sa MG5 core mt models nila.

Pero pag Di kaman affected SA price mas maganda po ang MG ZS T pag available. Better version of all specs na Meron si MG5. Downside Lang Yan is SA porma dahil SUV type si MG ZS T at sedan si MG5

Sakin boss I find its suspension stiffer than the others which is better for cornering at the same time, mas napalag sa lubak.

Commending how entertaining their comparo is. But it’s just weird that they can’t name the exact base model variant of the Vios, which is the J variant and only has steel rims. Ok pagbigyan na yung Basest of them all na variant na bare na Vios lang talaga. And the variant they presented was the XLE/E variant. Please make sure your info is correct mga idol.

Vios XLE ang ginamit sa review at hindi Vios Base (basehan ko yung sa likod na walang badging ng variant dahil sa E variant may badging then sa XLE ay wala pero naka mags at sharks fin antenna, may ilang parts pa na iba at wala sa tunay na base variant, malaki ang pagkakaiba ng ginamit na unit sa tunay na Vios Base Variant) though ang dineclare at pinaliwanag na specs ay pang Vios Base.

Nice vid, however the vios on the video is not the base model. No black color for the base and the wheels should be standard donut with no hubs/cover etc. If you're going for the vios, go for the J variant. I got one and sure is reliable. But yeah the MG5 would have me think back sometimes because of the features it got. This was very new when we were choosing a car so we hesitated and got the vios instead.
The Mg5 weight is in kilograms not in pounds. It is heavier than the vios. Love the video though. More power!

I have G4 gls2020 but I like the MG5 more over vios for its Executive look. And mg5 over emgrand.
It's a matter of choice nga boss, at the end of the day ano man maging problem ng choice natin tyo gagastos di ang iba. So isip isip lang bago bumili. 👌
Ang noypi kung mga kotse pang habang buhay, iniisip na agad ang maintenance at availability ng parts. Kaya malaking factor pa rin talaga ang brand equity ng sasakyan kesa sa mga highend features. Lalo na manual tranny yang pinag compare, mostly hindi na new drivers ang bibili niyan. Dagdag na lang ng 50k+ nasa cvt na e.

Our family still has our 2004 and 2005 Vios and both are still reliable kahit gamit na gamit, pwede pa ibyahe malayo. So having said that, Vios pa rin. Although yan ba ang wheel ng base? Parang plain black steel lang?

Why are they referring to the Vios in the video as a “Base” variant? The “base” Vios has black steel rims, and devoid of most power features. The one on the video seems to be an E or XLE variant. 🙄
XLE variant sya sir. Ang E variant ay may E badging sa likod, ang XLE wala. Pero same exterior ang XLE at E :) yung Base variant ay malayo sa itsura nung ginamit na unit. Though ang binanggit naman nilang specs ay yung pang Vios Base :)

We have an avanza and a mg zs. MG is really good. Build quality and features. Na byahe na rin long distances many times, never tumirik. My younger brother is getting an MG5 sedan. We visited toyota, suzuki,geely, and MG. The mg5 feels better and looks better. The emgrand is also great but we decided to go with the mg.
I love MG 5. Yung Vios napaka-common na.
Size wise, MG5 is more comparable to Altis.

Claiming them as number 1 car portal but they cannot get their facts straight. 326 liters trunk capacity for the Vios? You might have picked up the figures for the Yaris hatch. The Vios has 478 liters capacity. Moreover, the Vios in the video is the mid-variant XLE manual.
Hindi lang po size ng fuel tank ang basehan ng range (max distance) kundi nasa fuel consumption rin ng engine.
oo like samen the fortuner is 80liters tank pero nung nag byahe kame parehong ubos yung full tank fuel yung vios eh 42 liters pero kinalabasan sa 850km na byahe si vios consume 43liter pero si forty is 83 litter na gasta eh same speed naman.comboy kung baga.

wala talaga kuwenta ang MG ever since i am in UK now. kahit dito mababa ang quality ng MG because of quality issues. inde porket british made na sasakyan maganda quality. pag bago lang maganda.. kasi unique kaka iba. but when it comes to quality. still japanese and korea.

Lets be straight here, what youxare paying for vios is the longevity and reliability and ofcourse the brand name “toyota”. But it is sad to see na toyota was left behind whencit comes to car features.
No. Those MG features are not necessary during your everyday ride.. it’s an excess and feel kinda nice have.. but trust me as you buy it along the way you won’t appreciate those features that much. Toyota is improving the quality that matters like safety, security and efficiency.

Both owner of Vios Xle and MG5 Core Cvt pero mas comfortable ako pag ginagamit ko yung MG cons lang sa Noise pag umuulan pero di naman masyado. Baka sa unit ko lang hahaha

my Vios E, 2014, 97,000 km ang tinakbo, hindi pa po nasira kahit isang beses. kahit isang beses, hindi ako tinirik, matagalan ako kapag nag change oil. Reliability ng Toyota is subok na, kaya nga ginagawang Taxi

Vios , although made by toyota, is built/assembled in Thailand, Phlippines, and Indonesia. I think vios is not even sold for the japanese market.
China nowadays produces the best cars in terms of quality and affordability. And that is not a joke. The US and Japanese carmakers are already lagging behind China.

Correct me if I'm wrong, pero yung Vios na nandito sa comparo ay parang yung mid-spec na XLE/E variant. Dapat yung J variant ng Vios ang kinompare niyo sa Core variant ng MG5. Also, iba pa yung "Base" variant ng Vios sa J -- yung Base variant kasi napaka-basic at intended talaga na pang-taxi.

mg5 for the win probably wont last longer than the vios but definitely worth it sa features (unless you plan to keep the same car for 20yrs then mag vios kana lang)

There are factors po na nagdidikta ng reliability ng isang sasakyan:
1. Proper Maintenance
2. Driving habit
3. Luck (there are times na may ilang units talaga from different brands na hndi maganda ang nagiging production due to poor QA/QC)
There's no problem in buying a cheaper car kung applicable sayo yung tatlong factors na namention ko, but kung gusto mo talaga ng pang bugbugan/pangbabaran sa gamit like taxi, PUV etc ay obvious na better talaga si Toyota due to resale value, parts availability and brand experience.
Andito na naman tong dalwang to. Nangunguna na naman to sa kalokohan si Stanley. More power to Tito jokes. Anyway, it would seem like halos lahat ng Toyota model dehado sa specs compared to the competition. Their edge? Engine reliability, third part accessory ecosystem, and number of dealerships equating to service centers.

MG isn't a Chinese brand. It's a British brand, only manufactured in China, similar to your Apple's Iphone.
It IS a chinese brand, MG is owned by SAIC Motors. By the way, Apple is not owned by a chinese company.
Aside from the United States, China is one of the significant manufacturers of Ford vehicles.

Good content but poor taste and normalization of background audio.
I keep fiddling with volume controls to increase when they're speaking then look for controls again when the background music is pumped to max volume.
Is it really necessary to pump up the background music?
It is annoying and will only push viewers to look for another video to watch because is is THAT LOUD relative to dialogue volume.
You should learn from car TH-camrs like Savage Geese, Chris Fix, Pan The Organizer, etc.
Nome of them use loud music or almost no music at all.
