@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I'm from Slovakia so some of the scooters you review I cant get here and E25 seems really good but I couldn't find much about how the battery in the stem affects ride quality compared to under deck battery. Yes E45 just has the external battery that extends range and should help in hills and boost top speed a bit. The E45 review would be awesome I think that would cover the riding of E25 as well which is the area I'm most interested in. And after all there is a option to buy external battery to virtually make E45 from E25.
The weight of the battery on the stem definitely shows up when you're walking next to it. If you try to push it up a driveway, the resistance of the front wheel hitting the edge of the driveway will sometimes make it tip forward, which can cause the deck to swing sideways and whack you in the ankle. It's a rare event, but definitely happens. When riding some scooters with stem batteries like the Turbo Ant (Levy), I can feel that the scooter is slightly less stable at high speed because the center of mass is close to the pivot point of the scooter when the scooter leans into a corner. On the E22 I don't feel it as much while riding, but the effect is probably there.
The ES3? I'd definitely pick the M365 or the E22 over that. The X7 Pro has a smoother ride than any of them and a swappable battery. The M365 is super light and portable. The E22 is great if you don't own tools and you only want to charge it, and ride it. -Paul
Segway E22 is very good. my friend have more than 4 years and works good. 20km/h is very good speed. 25-35km/h is not recommended for this scooter. I had external battery and after 1 week my ES4 scooter dead. No more 20km/h for this scooter is very good speed.
On the one we tested, we didn’t need a smart phone to operate it at all. I’m not sure if that has changed, in terms of initial setup, but once set up you can definitely ride without your phone. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Thanks for the answer. Becouse i have to give premission to segway about my location. I just tried to download it for PC and it didn't work. Possibly if you had a chromebook. I'm not sure. It says the required operating system is Android 4.3 and up. -Paul
but isnt the e22 same as the e22e and I think the e22 has lights underneath because on the app you still have that feature so I think its still there but I dont know maybe I'm wrong
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Ok :( its sad but I still like the scooter but you made it look not good when you were comparing the scooters between the xoami 365 and that made me think maybe I shouldnt get a scooter
can you mod this, put some bigger tires? and lights on it to ride at night and lights on the back to, does this have a speedometer and battery reader so i know when it is going to die.
Yes, the scooter tells you how much battery is left, and if you have the app, you can get an exact percentage remaining. If you install an external battery from Ninebot, it comes with 4 lights on it, that let you know how much charge is left. The tires it comes with are one of the best things about the scooter, and I definitely wouldn't change them. They're larger than most scooters in it's class, they're flat proof, but they ride like an air fille tire, which is a good trick. It has tail lights and brake lights on the sides, which are also visible from behind, but it wouldn't hurt to add a blinking light on a backpack at night so cars could see you better. The headlights is pretty good as is, and much better than the previous generation scooter. -Paul
I just ordered one on Amazon they are 38 percent off now so excited I’m not looking for a real fast scooter just something low maintenance and affordable.
Oh man this thing is built like a tank I idiotically drove over a pothole lucky I didn’t get hurt that bad just skinned my knees the sucker still works like new. Also it got knocked over pretty hard while it was in the laundry room. Very sturdy little thing. Already got about 70 miles on it so much fun.
The problem is when we flash the scooter, the SERIAL NUMBER disappears from the firmware in the app. And you lose your records, mill's travel, and information about your scooter. Right? At least, happened to me. I also have the e22, I bought today the external battery, and I am thinking to uninstall the flash, and only driving with the external battery
Be aware: the extra battery increased speed up to 19mph. BUT .... it got me into more near-crashes and scary situations. It also makes it harder to grip it and carry with one hand.
Have you guys considered reviewing the Yume d4? It stands out to me as being far and away the most powerful scooter in its price range from what I’ve researched, and I haven’t seen anyone in the US make a video on it.
We have a D4+ in house but haven't done full testing on it yet. So far, I'm not a big fan of the quality of construction. There is quite a bit of stem wobble, no matter what I do to the stem to try to reduce it. That said, our camera crew actually likes it as a seated camera-vehicle. -Paul

Flashing took me a fcuk all long time, lot of effort and dumb luck. Torque was improved. That was noticeable and appreciate. Wasn't a lot but enough to be happier with the SPORT mode flash. I'm 222lbs and..... Fully charged, it hits 15, 16 and smattering of 17 (oh there it went). But overall, 14-15mph (60% +🔋) Once you're under 60%, expect 13mph with a splash of 14. Under 50%, solid 13mph. Under 40%, 12% If it's under 30%, why are you riding it? Just to deplete the battery at 11mph? Happily, kick through (ability to physically kick power the scooter stone dead) was respectable. *I've been on the Bird Flex and the kick through was 40%...meaning you're fighting through the motor 60% of your energy. I carried the charger for the E22, 90% of my trips. I didn't want to choose a destination without a return option. If you weigh under 200lbs, this scooter might work for you but dollars to donuts (💵 🍩) you're better off adding a few $100's and getting something better. ($600? 👎) Don't even THINK about the Bird Flex (it Flux!)
Hi everyone. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the E22E tyres from the ones like the Model D? The E22E uses a 9-Inch Dual Density tyres (flat-free) and the Ninebot model D uses 10-inch air tyres with inner tube. can someone give some feedback. I'll love to change if was possible. The original tyres from e22e model it's very uncomfortable, they are only good if we have a good road without holes or if you ride on a cycle track otherwise is very bad. Thanks.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I don’t know if some models only come to x countries. In Portugal, we have three D models (new model). The difference between them is the range.

Terrible mileage. Awful default top speed. Tires are CRAP. A very bad choice for ANYONE looking to buy a scooter. Yes, you can add the external battery to get more mileage, but everyone who has experienced that added battery knows that it creates a weight distribution issue (the scooter becomes a lot heavier at the front) and simply adds to the weight and awkwardness of the design. Also, it can lead to connection issues where the battery plugs in and offers an added point of possible theft when you leave your scooter parked outside. Do your research and you'll find MUCH better options in the same price range. This is a good review as far as information but it needlessly tries create a good review for a scooter that honestly doesn't deserve it. Yes, if you compare it to the hideous crap that is the es2, it's better - but that's not saying much.
@Joey mcdonald, have you encountered a non-pneumatic tire that performs better than the tires on the E22? I'd love to hear about it! The tires on the E22 are at least twice as good as the next-best non-pneumatic tire I've ever encountered. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I'm not saying that they haven't made improvements to their non-pneumatic tires, and I understand how it might be a selling point to someone. It's nice to see the technology improving. I'd be interested to know if you tested them on wet streets? One of the key failures of non-pneumatic tires (beyond a less comfortable ride compared to pneumatic tires) is the very serious issue of becoming horribly slick on wet surfaces. If you're going to promote the tires as one of this scooters' best features, why not do a test on wet streets? That's info that I'd like to have. Of course there's more to a scooter than tires. I'd actually prefer to deal with POTENTIAL flats and purchase a scooter with much better features than choose a fairly lame scooter because it has non-pneumatic tires. But, that's just my opinion. I liked your review, but I think a better comparison to other similarly priced brands might better inform potential buyers.... rather than simply comparing it to its ancient predecessor.
Ha ha! I actually wrote him into a draft of the NAMI full review last night! I don’t know if the T-rex will survive the edit though. It’s even further out there than the last one! -Paul
This model is still crap. I have electric scooter shop and I do not want to take any ES model to work on it or fix. Once when you got error you need to replace everything or throw in garbage. I fixed couple thiusand electric scooters with different issues, but never fixed ES alleays something missing or getting new error when you fix they previous one. That is mine experience with ES line of the scooters 😎
Do actual adults get thru life not owning like any tools? Like must be nice to have enough money for anything ever to go wrong for it to be someone else's problem.
Es4 have his own positive sides too. I used es4 as a donor for my awd m365 conversion, and actually electric motor from es1/2/4 after pneumatic tire upgrafe are giving you more speed, then stock m365 motor. Works good. As well a chance to install new battery as a hotswap is a big plus on es series of ESC.

Segway E22 is very good. my friend have more than 4 years and works good. 20km/h is very good speed. 25-35km/h is not recommended for this scooter. I had external battery and after 1 week my ES4 scooter dead. No more 20km/h for this scooter is very good speed.
Ride quality and suspension are much more important to me but zero maintenance is very appealing. The Air Pro will be in my trunk soon. Great Video!
Enjoy! The Air Pro really is outstanding for ride quality and handling. -Paul

Cool video! Is it working without a smartphone?
On the one we tested, we didn’t need a smart phone to operate it at all. I’m not sure if that has changed, in terms of initial setup, but once set up you can definitely ride without your phone. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Thanks for the answer. Becouse i have to give premission to segway about my location. Because im in the Eu there is GDPR law, what means no any personal data can go out European union. I just dont want to be tacked by a company, but its a cool scooter. So if i pair it with the phone, and made some acceleation settings and save it, can i delete the app? It will still save the settings on ninebot and will work without the app? Sorry if im asking too much. Thanks!

Definitely no lights under our E22. :-( -Paul
-Paul
Great video keep it up
Thank you! @chill bill!
Does the external battery need to be charged separately after it's put on, or can we charge both together
Depends on which one it is! Check out the instructions!
Well just got pair of these for the kids for Christmas seems like a great first scooter for the $$$
I just ordered one on Amazon they are 38 percent off now so excited I’m not looking for a real fast scooter just something low maintenance and affordable.
Nice! Enjoy
Does adding the external battery AND flashing it do anything?
We have not attempted this!
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide gotta be highway speeds! 🤣
Very insightful! Thanks for watching
Be aware: the extra battery increased speed up to 19mph. BUT .... it got me into more near-crashes and scary situations. It also makes it harder to grip it and carry with one hand.
I’m perfectly happy without the add-on battery and limiting my speed to 15mph. It’s Also easier to hold on to as I carry it up stairs now.
Stay safe out there!

-Paul

What’s the top speed with extra battery AND flashed?
16.5 mph with external battery and flashed, so once you have the external battery installed the gain from flashing is tiny 0.3 mph -Paul

Quick question, will the xiaoflasher work if I have an external battery attached to my e22 ?
I was able to flash ours with the external battery attached, but the additional top speed was only about 0.2 mph. Do you mean a non-Segway Ninebot battery? -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide no it was a Segway battery 🔋
Ah yes. It should work then, but we didn't gain much, beyond what we got from adding the battery.
But overall, 14-15mph (60% +🔋)
Once you're under 60%, expect 13mph with a splash of 14.
Under 50%, solid 13mph.
Under 40%, 12%
If it's under 30%, why are you riding it? Just to deplete the battery at 11mph?
Happily, kick through (ability to physically kick power the scooter stone dead) was respectable.
*I've been on the Bird Flex and the kick through was 40%...meaning you're fighting through the motor 60% of your energy.
I carried the charger for the E22, 90% of my trips.
I didn't want to choose a destination without a return option.
If you weigh under 200lbs, this scooter might work for you but dollars to donuts (💵 🍩) you're better off adding a few $100's and getting something better.
($600? 👎)
Don't even THINK about the Bird Flex (it Flux!)
Thanks.
Haven’t seen that scooter yet!
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I don’t know if some models only come to x countries. In Portugal, we have three D models (new model). The difference between them is the range.
Is this good in 2022?
It’s a decent scooter! Nothing special
So, if you hack the e22 to get it to go 15, if you buy the battery pack will it go 18?
I found that once the battery was installed, hacking it only added 0.3 mph.
External battery no hack 16.2 mph measured top speed
External battery + hack 16.5 mph measured top speed
The indicated speed on the speedometer may have been higher, but these are the speeds measured with our Vbox Sport, which is very good at measuring speed with GPS. -Paul

Very insightful! Thanks for sharing. -Vosk

As a previous owner of ES4 DO NOT BUY!
Xiaomi Scooter Pro 2 is the way to go.
Why?
Es4 have his own positive sides too. I used es4 as a donor for my awd m365 conversion, and actually electric motor from es1/2/4 after pneumatic tire upgrafe are giving you more speed, then stock m365 motor. Works good. As well a chance to install new battery as a hotswap is a big plus on es series of ESC.
I'm also curious what you didn't like about the ES4. For me, it's in the same camp as the ES2 which is to say it's a scooter I don't recommend. But the E22 is a very different, and much much better scooter. -Paul
