@@dittoronaldo28 I've been using it now for around 2-3 months and I love it (my sister also got one so both of us are using it daily now), much more stable then the ES2. The control board is usually the issue. Lots of screws and unnecessary pieces of plastic to remove, but it's all fixable with patience. It's not the most rugged machine, but I've gotten almost 800km out of it so far without so much as a loose screw. Even the tires are holding up pretty well. I did suffer the well known control board fuse issue that causes the headlight to trigger the brake (v1.1 to v1.3 model scooters are susceptible to that issue). I installed an external headlight to solve the problem. I'd highly recommend that every owner buy an external headlight to attach to the handlebar and not use the internal headlight to avoid a possible issue with the control board fuse. You can still activate the lights under the scooter and the back red lights via the app. Overall I'm happy with my scooter. I think you did an excellent job reviewing it. Ive had my es2 for about 6 months now I use it to go to the gym so I don’t have to get in and out of my car after working out.. I use it to go grocery shopping ive gone 4 miles to the local grocery store and back with a pack full of groceries and it saves so much time for me finding parking or waiting at red lights.. I also use it to just ride around the neighborhood all of the neighborhood kids get a kick out of it when I pass by haha but yeah its really cool actually I wish it was a little faster but it goes fast enough if you really think about it and I wish the battery lasted longer but I got the base model I suggest going for the upgraded model but you can always buy the battery attachment for 200 odd dollars. Cool scooter wearing gloves and a helmet will definitely make it feel more comfy
I knew a guy who had the es2 with the extra battery pack and the battery pack literally caused his scooter wires to melt. Obviously the scooter can’t handle the voltage or something. He just used it for standard commuting and stuff, then one day it just stopped working. He took it apart and saw that the cheap wires inside had melted. The scooter had slowly killed itself from the inside out.
I dont know if is because my first scooter experience were in a renting lime scooter but when i biught this es2 i completely HATE, FALL ,NO BRAKES AT ALL FOR STOP IMMEDIATELY, I DONT KNOW HOW KIDS OR ADULTS DONT DIE EVERY SINGLE DAY AROUND THE WORLD JUST BECAUSE OF THIS BRAKES SCOOTER..SURREAL!!
Thank you for this review, I'm struggling between m365 and es2 . now i have clear my mind I'm going for the m365. This is like the Top Gear for Scooter. 😀
Great review, many thanks. I notice you wearing gloves - when I've rented this scooter before my hands go funny with the vibration. Were you wearing the gloves to help with the vibration? Any recommendations please?
What are the security options for this scooter? With solid tires, it would mean the bike can’t be locked through the tires with a regular chain lock. I read perhaps it can be locked by the app? Please advise.
I had encountered once the Breaking Fail, the scooter turned off when I tried to brake before an intersection going downhill at almost max speed and I was not used to the foot break. It was almost like a death trap since I nearly ended up going into the busy intersection, so in front of moving cars :)
I also do not like the brakes on mine too. I think it could be fixed via software though. They are not linear somewhat. Very small input when riding fast makes enormous deceleration and after that breaking is OK, even too ineffective.
Nice review,...and nice helmet. I have a Segway Ninebot ES Max I backed on Indegogo that I'm waiting for. Hopefully it'll be better than the M365 & ES2, and hopefully you'll be able to acquire one for yourself for review. If I lived in the UK (I'm on Long Island, in NY, USA) I'd spot it to you for a review. Keep up the excellent reviews mate!!! 🍻
@@tp7225 That's sad for you. There will be more parts and customizations available for the ES Max than any other electric scooter model currently available. Your loss,...
In this review you say it doesn't have a mechanical brake but it does! There is a fender in the back that when stepped on, is meant to act as a friction brake as stated in the manual. I too have accidentally hit the electronic brake though and its a bit jarring if you aren't expecting it because the scooter will simultaneously cut the acceleration as well, whether you're holding the gas or not.
@@StusReviewsUK okie so...as i live in the country side rn the roads arent the best, it did really good ive driven just 40 km yet and the cons i detected were when i pressed or let away the gas or break buttons, they started to squeak a little bit and the steer got quite loose... but overall i like it😄
I am looking at buying an E-scooter, however I can't decide between the Ninebot by Segway Es2 (2019) and the Xiaomi M365 (2019). I have heard good and bad about both, and love your reviews, but my deciding factor will be the tyres. I am not super knowledgeable about scooters or bikes so I'll need something relatively easy to maintain. I will mainly be using it on paths, but would like to have something that can occassionally handle riding on mowed lawn grass. I am thinking the inflatable tyres on the Xiaomi would suit, but am wary about them being incredibly hard to change. Yet the solid tyres on the Segway may not be suited to grass riding? I am not sure. I also love the speed display on the Segway
The difference between this isn’t and the xiaomi is when you upgrade this one with the battery and is has 30km like the xiaomi you are testing has in handles the hills quite better because it has more power
I bought one and later bought the extra external battery converting the scooter into a ES4. The first month I had no problems with the scooter. I was grate going further and in a more fast speed. Later I started having problems with both batteries not sinking together. On the external battery the 4 power level Leeds keeps flashing and the scooter slows down even slower like it doesn’t even have the extra battery on. Iv got it in the shop now where I bought it from and it’s still under guarantee and I want to get a refund. Iv taken the scooter back to the shop to many times with the same problems. I looked at the Ninebot Max and it has a much better range. I’m on a tight budget and bought the scooter so I don’t have to spend so much money on travelling by city buses. I was walking in the city and saw 2 Lime sckooters, both Ninebot Max’s. One had suspension and the other didn’t. You don’t usual see Ninebot Max’s in the shop with suspension.

They were also illegal in DK a few years ago, now we can drive on them, and the helmet thing is also a requirement here in DK, I will NEVER drive with that piece of plastic on my head, I guess it's my own problem if I choose to hit the head, when that has been said, there are plenty of people who play police and meddle in everything but their own lives, it has never been a problem in my 57 years that people rode bicycles without a helmet, etc., but suddenly it's a problem if you don't have the ridiculous piece of plastic on. If you want to ride with it fine, but TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF and let others do what they want...
The scooter had slowly killed itself from the inside out.
yes they can mine one have no problems at all
I dont know if is because my first scooter experience were in a renting lime scooter but when i biught this es2 i completely HATE, FALL ,NO BRAKES AT ALL FOR STOP IMMEDIATELY, I DONT KNOW HOW KIDS OR ADULTS DONT DIE EVERY SINGLE DAY AROUND THE WORLD JUST BECAUSE OF THIS BRAKES SCOOTER..SURREAL!!
Great review, even better whisky selection
Thank you for this review, I'm struggling between m365 and es2 . now i have clear my mind I'm going for the m365.
This is like the Top Gear for Scooter. 😀
loved the drone shots at the end. You should include some at the start too.. was a pretty fun review mate
Deffo just stick with the xiaomi 365 Pro (unlocked) Thanks for the review!
Thanks, good job reviewing es2. A great help for me on deciding what scooter to buy for myself. 👍
i got es4 its amazing love your reviews
I'm considering this scooter for a first electric kick scooter.
Great review, many thanks. I notice you wearing gloves - when I've rented this scooter before my hands go funny with the vibration. Were you wearing the gloves to help with the vibration? Any recommendations please?
when he talks at studio, he talks in the same manor as Jeremy Clarkson and even his voice sounds similar
I started researching e-scooters...ended up buying a Onewheel XR XD
@@1vbAPiYk not lame kid lol 😂😂😂
Now that you've had the scooter for a while. How is it holding up? Any problems/issues?
What are the security options for this scooter? With solid tires, it would mean the bike can’t be locked through the tires with a regular chain lock. I read perhaps it can be locked by the app? Please advise.
I had encountered once the Breaking Fail, the scooter turned off when I tried to brake before an intersection going downhill at almost max speed and I was not used to the foot break. It was almost like a death trap since I nearly ended up going into the busy intersection, so in front of moving cars :)
Damn
I think with electronic brake it's really important to take some time to practice breaking mechanically
I also do not like the brakes on mine too. I think it could be fixed via software though. They are not linear somewhat. Very small input when riding fast makes enormous deceleration and after that breaking is OK, even too ineffective.
Cool, thank you for a great review. I am now happy owner of a ninebot scooter. 🥳👍
I’ve backed them as well! So you will indeed be seeing a review of it 😁👌
I didn't buy ES Max, because there aren't as many spare parts as for xiaomi M365 PRo and it weights 18 kg unlike m365 pro's 14 kg...
@@tp7225 That's sad for you. There will be more parts and customizations available for the ES Max than any other electric scooter model currently available. Your loss,...
Is this scooter budget or midrange
Great video! So which do you like better this one or M365?
Very good review...and very funny. Thank you.
Great point ginger! By mechanical I’m referring to a cabled breaks mostly, but you’re right 👍
I have a ninebot es2 but mine does not make those noises and i don’t ever press the brake accidentally so I think it must be you
thanks for da honest review, just bought one :D
Let me know how you get on!
@@StusReviewsUK okie so...as i live in the country side rn the roads arent the best, it did really good
ive driven just 40 km yet and the cons i detected were when i pressed or let away the gas or break buttons, they started to squeak a little bit and the steer got quite loose... but overall i like it😄
Thanks for a straight forward review. 👍🏼
How much do you weigh? Not sure you are light enough for this, Hence the noises and braking issues.
The squeaking and the clunk sound the suspension makes
Late respond but m365 tires are really bad so if u buy that then i recommend to change tires to flat free ones
Thanks for the review
This carry on flights any problem?
The difference between this isn’t and the xiaomi is when you upgrade this one with the battery and is has 30km like the xiaomi you are testing has in handles the hills quite better because it has more power
The standard m365 and the ES2 are comparable. I think you’re referring to the m365 pro which has the larger battery.
Can this scooter be used with manual kick power if necessary?
"Think I look like an idiot, in a helmet" ...
Have you ever thought that it is the ones that ride without helmets that are the actual idiots?
Agreed!
Haha you obviously lack balance & technique.
@@Anonymous-pl6fi Wearing a helmet isn't about how good or bad oneself is driving. Other idiots in the traffic think they own the road and therefore have the right to drive their huge cars they can barely handle into people and stuff.
Same goes with other scooters and bikers who think they're gods gift to humanity.
Personally, I wear a helmet due to how others behave in the traffic in very unpredictable ways. Some times I wonder if I'm then only one on the planet who still got a common sense in traffic.
@Jamack Black ong bro
This is a great package - and for the money - you will happy.
Hi! Curious which you would choose if you were choosing between this and the Xiaomi mi 365?
Exactly what I needed to know, it doesn't do hills well. I need a lightweight scooter that does hills.
take xiaomi m365 pro! its good on hills!
@@jasperlambrecht1906 Agree! I have the M365 Pro and boy it can tackle hill inclines up to 20° degree angle (reduces speed up to 13-10km/hr depending on your payload). 😁🛴
Try unagi it’s super light weight and dual motors
Love your work Stu!
Cheers Daniel!
The Xiaomi 365 and ninebot series are made by the same company in China. You should look at the Zero series from Singapore. I’m really interested in the 8x, duel 800 watt motors, but the Zero 9 is comparable to the ninebot ES4 and Xiaomi, but has better suspension bigger battery and 500 watt motor. The people who make the Zero series also make the Inokim, less power but also much lighter.
The Fuze grom Furo system UK Brand its better and cheaper, then zero9 and support in UK, have front and back suspension air tyres and 1kg less weight
How do you guys like it !? Its kinda a really important issue. I got one from helliot bikes now and the battery sucks !
I have a chronic condition witch made it harder and harder for me to bike like we do here in the Dutch.
I have been using the one I have now and it work great only the range of 10 km is nothing for ny daily goings.
I really got the cash finally now and NEED to know if it's worth it or ho for the max version?
Which model did you go for in the end? I want non-pneumatic tyres but my choice seems limited here in Thailand
Great review Stu! You look tall, I’m 6”5 how comfortable do u think it would be for that height. Thanks!
I am seriously interested in this scooter. Can someone please recommend a small alarm anti theft device or great gps tracker please as fear it getting stolen by premium chavs!!
U lock
I’m glad I bought the m365 pro I pick it up tomorrow
nice, but as a public transportation user: PORTABILITY is everything. All of them are good. Whoever makes a backpackable model will eat the market. Wait and see
Take a look at my review of the mantour X! Smallest one I’ve seen yet!
I bought it for 239€
It was 50% off
Its delivered in max 4days
Both my ES4 scooters failed miserably after 400 miles. Warranty is terrible. Small wheels on a small platform going 20 mph just cannot handle the wear.
I hope you used the sport mode bc i went over 27kph with sport mode
(And also it doesn’t squeak for me )
I would say for the money that it costs in estonia it is around 379 euros so for me it is the best electric scooter, just saying so pls don’t be mad at me
How do you find the ES4 now ??
And how much km have you on it ?
Ans does it makes noises or problems?
There are different versions that have mostly conquered the PCB issues. V1.1 all the way to 1.5 I believe.
Also that scooter to drone transition at 11.28 👏
Some smashing info there Gary! Thanks! 😁👌👍
If we buy one today, are customers guaranteed the latest version with out the PCB issues? I really want one but I've seen a lot videos from here and on reddit filled with pcb issues from about a year or more back. Also how could someone identify which version of the scooter do they have?
Hey does anyone know if charging overnight is bad? I want to leave it on charge, but I’m scared that the battery may worsen. Thanks in advance.
I read that you should never over charge it
Hey Stew i like the look of this would you recommend
Can you make one video for the E45 PLEASE!!!
Thanks recently bough mine was starting to regret it but I gatta say seing your video gave me a boost that made a right choice . Since I bought for the dual suspension and for chance to upgrade it in the future.
Have you tryed the batter upgrade?
You have the Ninebot MAX unit ready yet Stu? Either you or Ben Fox is still pending for their review units lol. By the way, the Indiegogo backers from the UK already received their Max so any news yet?
I do indeed have my unit. And we have been busy filming! Not ready yet though... stay tuned 👀
@@StusReviewsUK Cannot wait! Keep us posted! 👍🛴
"I think i look like an idiot with a helmet" welll you do anyways... NOOOO I'm jk!! u help people understand why u have a helmet on. Ceep it up bro
Hey what was Sam riding???
M365
Hi! So if this and m365 are budget scooters what other scooter tiers are in the market?
I ended up returning this scooter due to slowly decreasing range and also strange rattling noises that developed after 50 or so miles. I would consider this scooter a toy more than anything.
Would you ride on sidewalks ? And how much do you weight?
Can you please review the GoTrax GXL V2, I’ve been considering getting this scooter and I’d like to have your opinion first!
9:55 here's the big but lol
help i am thinking about buying ninebot es2 maybe with extra battery or ms energy neutron n3
Im getting my first e scooter soon do u guys recommend the es2 or some oyher i weitht 45 to 55 kg if u recommend another one let me know and my height is like 145 im not a midget im a child
After a very long research im getting the es2
@@ramzan2635 i got the m365
@@sigmabools Nice i changed my mind so im getting the m365 pro lol
Curious, HOW do you possibly call this a BUDGET SCOOTER when it's 2-3X more expensive than your avg electric scooter??
Because it is a budget scooter. Anything under £400 is your staple scooter that most fleet companies use because they are considered ‘budget’ with decent performance. Mid range comes in at 500-800 with devices like the ninebot max. Anything over that you’re getting into high end.
@@StusReviewsUK Wow! That's amazing. Here in Canada.. the avg electric scooter is like $149-$249
And this runs between $799-$899
I am so disappointed in mine,,,this is my third ninebot purchase...and this has been the worst...it doesnt go very fast at all...It cant go up even the slightest hills... the tires are solid but when you go over bumps man you can really feel it... I'm sending mine back to Amazon... super bummed out
Why is climbing hill slower tho since it's watt rating is higher than Xiaomi
my gd got an used ES1, it has 1300km(800 miles) on the clock, going strong
I just subscribed👌👍👍👍👍
I think it is a much better product than the xiaomi
It’s also made by Xiaomi. (Segway/ninebot are owned by Xiaomi)
Mine didn't develop problems until after 600 miles
Nice one
I think those who meddle in whether people drive with helmets are the same as those who recently also had to meddle in whether others walked with diapers over their mouths or not, these people were dubbed "coronas witnesses"
Can anyone help me, how to engage the 'sport mode' on ES2? My Scooter's top speed is only 15 km/h, and I cannot find in the settings how to increase the max speed. :(
Gotta download the app and pair with the Bluetooth
