BMS ByPass, Should you do it? Do you have a need to and is there a benefit or danger in doing so?

little discussion about BMS and knowing if you have a pack that should or should not be bypassed not all batteries are created equal especially if they have cheap cells.

as for the bypass if you have built your battery correctly and got the correct bms for your application ,then there is no reason to bypass your bms ,and if you still do it,then be smart about only increase the power draw in increments and monitor whats doing on and know what is the maximum your batteries and battery hardware can take so as not to exceed it

i dont think people building batteries are the ones doing the bypassing as if your building like you said most people are using good components it normally those stock packs that people attempt to bypass your 1005 right i dont hink anyone would build a pack thats not adequate for their project. No point in building it if your gonna build it too small. Not Everyone gonna buy a safety device over $500 most decide to be unsafe lol

@@ChrisCrossingWires1212 look i agree with the fact if a correct and over speced bus syterm is used for the litium battery and correct charger abd max draw setting are correctand charge time and limits set ,and main brand cells are used sansung etc,you can do away with BMS all together but we are a special breed that do that,most people dont have a clue what the hell i just said, so yes they need a bms for everyones protection

I certainly believe a well built battery that's being charged correctly and right amount of power being drawn from it IE the controller settings you don't need BMS at all but unfortunately too many battery Karen's in most DIY groups that have corrupted the minds of the mass. We both know for a fact that all consumers don't need free reign and need to be regulated. Will it stop them from burning shit up. I doubt it

Havent tried one of those what you like about them always willing to try other BMS when its just for charging as that wont affect the packs out put, I think I seen those but they all looked like they were for small applications Do they Make Hi power ones as well and what do you like ? Is it nice software? Its not that i wouldnt mind trying different ones especially if I get a good recomendation, I just stick to stuff that hasn been problematic. I dont wanna expierament if its for someone else if its for me dont matter.

@@ChrisCrossingWires1212 Chris, what I like from JK is that the same BMS can be use for multiples configuration, does not require separate modules and the software is better. You do not need a separate bluetooth module, separate active balancer ect... Also the foot print is smaller and they dont fail. Similar in price. They make BMS up to 1000A or 300A. I like the 500A option from Daly. Do not get me wrong, I own 5 daly as well. Give it a try to a JK. Get the 200A version.

Hey bro does the bac have the same config as a surron controller I have a 72v 70 amp battery but thinking of using a surron controller

if thats a stock surron controller itts not gonna work on 72v. they are 60 v it will go into protection you need a 72v controller

they each have their ups and downs .with the ANT bms and chris will agree with me ,most of the Ant bms you see for sale are chinese copies there is only one original Ant BMS and its a twin pcb beast ,and only the original ones work with the Vortechs ANt android app
