Thanks so much for these videos, I have the SDX125. Good to know it's not just me, there is a learning curve for some of the features, I appreciate your help, I love die cuts too!
Michele, it is definitely not just you. We are all in this together. While I love this machine, I have also fought with it so much. Each machine has a unique personality and others have had no problems right out of the box. By sharing, we can all learn more together. Thanks for watching and for your comment about my snow flakes. They are so much fun!
Great tutorial! So much to learn. Your knowledge and love for this machine is so evident. I am signed up for three of your courses. I also learn more with each of your videos. I just need to find a block of time to really play with it although I'm a lot more comfortable with it. Hugs Sue
Thanks Susan! I appreciate your support. My courses never expire so you can watch them with and without your machine. Once for an overview and then again with pausing so you can try it out and complete your assignments. I love when you share both in the course and in my FaceBook group: facebook.com/groups/518497415648601/
I got the SDX125e (early Christmas gift) on Wed of this week. I wanted to buy a low tack mat because I often use my DM350 to cut SU patterned paper. I have been unable to buy ANY mat for this machine. Brother is out of stock, obviously Amazon. I will call Brother on Monday about availability. I have been waiting 2 years to get my dream machine, and now, I may have to return it. Why would I buy an expensive machine when I can’t get parts? Also, I discovered this machine uses a different cutting mat. I wonder why Brother didn’t make the mats universal for all their cutting machines? If anyone can help me locate mats, I’d appreciate it. Papered Chef….I love your videos. You have saved my bacon many times with your fantastic knowledge. I’ve never used the Canvas workspace and was going to take your new course with this machine. Keeping my fingers crossed.🤞
I think you are worrying too much when you should be celebrating your new machine. Do the Welcome Project and then start using it. Every mat becomes a low tack mat in no time. Use the mat that came with the machine to cut patterned paper.
Thanks Sue, you are not a newbie at all which is who this video is geared towards but as you know, I like to include other tips & tricks for users at every level.
@@PaperedChef Thank you --but I consider myself a newbie. Even though I have had my machine for a few months ---I have only done a few different things. But, thanks to your videos --I have succeeded in those. It has been a rough year --and now that this is behind us --for now ---hopefully after Christmas --I can try a few more things. I really bought the machine to cut stamped images. But ---so nice to find other things to use it for. I have the DX125 ---and I love this machine! No regrets at all!!

I’m sure you are probably right but right now it is frustrating... works great for some card stock not so much for other. I’m sure I will catch on still a newby with my toy....Love your videos....
Yes, I like to break in each mat by using designer series paper. It doesn’t have a lot of fibers. It doesn’t get stuck on the mat. After a while, I use Whisper White card stock.
Hi loved ur video but couldn't u draw the snowflake on a light blue cardstock ? And 1 question can you scan n cut something that's large 12x 22 or using the 12x24 mat I want to cause I was thinking about getting this machine but I Need it to be able to scan n cut large 12x22 or 12x 24 thank you if you can do a video doing that oh my that would be great thank you n have a blessed day
Ida, scanning and cutting on a large mat is the same process except you need to change your cutting area in your settings. 12 by 24 scanning can only be done with the CM650W and later models like all of the DX models. Your cutting area is 23.74” by 11.65” so just keep that in mind. You can’t cut all of the way out to the edges.
Donna, I love mine too but as I’ve mentioned in many of videos, each machine has a personality. My machine has a stubborn streak when it comes to cutting out stamped images. No matter how many times I align my SDX125, my CM350 still does a better job. Still, I love how quiet it is and I love the Autoblade and that it has a better blade which I haven’t had to replace yet. Thanks for your comment.
As far as the menus go, you will not see a difference. However, the SDX225 is an upgrade so it has more built in designs, more quilting patterns and more installed fonts.
My Autoblade works great. Let’s put it this way. I’ve never replaced my blade and I use it all of the time. Be sure to check out my video on sharpening your blades.
Kathleen, are you using an SDX to follow along? If not, I also uploaded the same tutorial using the CM350. My courses go much more into depth. This was just touching the surface as to what this amazing machine can do.
You are a great teacher. Thank you
Awwww! Thanks Marie, I really appreciate your comment.

Where can I buy supplies for Scan N Cut. Thank you.
I just use Amazon or the Brother Mall. For example, this is a must have accessory. Universal Pen Holder: amzn.to/31n8poD

What is the difference between the SDX125 and the DX225
As far as the menus go, you will not see a difference. However, the SDX225 is an upgrade so it has more built in designs, more quilting patterns and more installed fonts.
How long does the blade on the dx125 last before is needs to be charged?

ok Thanks I just got dx125 over the summer. All your tutorials are wonderful and helpful.
Thanks again Dee Dee
Deidre Sesker Thanks Dee Dee. That is when I started using mine. Still going strong since the summer.
My Matt is so sticky it rips the back off some of my card stock. I have the 125
You can use it as a lint remover on your clothes to make it less sticky. Then, soon you will long for the day you had a sticky mat.
Ok, I'm going to sign up for the class. This tutorial didn't work for me so i must be doing something wrong. Maybe it's the machine though ..

@@PaperedChef sdx 125, but for some reason its not showing the options you have on your machine
Kathleen Whipple Well just go back and try it with pausing the video and I think it will work.
