      Agreed. I wish it had been Papered Chef that taught me how to unbox and use the basics of the machine. There is so much more to know about the machine than they teach you in the authorized dealer store.

    Thank you Kim for this again, awesome tutorial. You are beyond talented, so detailed in your teaching, kind, and patient. To give of your time, and all free on this channel! I encourage everyone watching to sign up to be a patreon and not only support you financially, but take your more detailed courses. It is amazing what you have learned and share with us. Brother should be paying you as I am sure there are many people like me that have purchased this machine because of you and your tutorials. And the gift you have given those who have had this machine and struggled how to use everything, or not be aware of all it can do. . God bless you Kim.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kathy, You are very welcome. You address envelopes the exact same way you add a name to an envelope. You just have to add a few lines of text. You would have an easier time with the software of course but it would still be tedious. If I address envelopes, I put them through the printer or make labels. I have faith in my viewers that you can apply what you learned here to addressing envelopes but if not, I can always address it in future tutorials.

      Yes, Absolutely Linda! You can draw the text from Canvas Workspace as as outline or with a fill. There are a couple of things to keep in mind. You can only use the installed version which is Canvas Workspace for the PC. That version lets you access fonts. Also, make sure you set your one to draw, not cut inside of Canvas. I will delve deep into these topics in my upcoming course. Thanks for watching.

      Hi Darla, thanks for watching even without a machine. You sure will be ready for when you get one. You will probably be better off with the SDX125 if you cut thick material and fabric. I mainly cut stamped images and patterned paper which is why my CM350 is my favorite. It just works better but each machine has a personality. It may just be a better machine even though the SDX has more features. The downside of the CM350 is that you need to also purchase the online activation card if you want to use it wirelessly (CM350) ScanNCut2 CM350: amzn.to/2EcTuRF

      Oh yes, of course you can but it does bleed if you have a small area. Sometimes, I just create the outline and then use my markers to color inside of the lines manually. Either way, it is fun to experiment.

    Hi Kim, loved the lesson - My machine is a SDX1200 I have tried this and I have a lovely outline of my word, no pieces of the word are missing. Without changing the pen or holder, I followed instructed for fill but each time I am not getting a complete fill, I can see a tiny white spacing (Nearly there). Is there a setting I have to change for this please. Thank you. (Sorry if this comment is in more than one place having trouble posting)

      @PaperedChef  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a problem. When you have a question, so do others. First off, it makes be so proud to know that you tried this already. Sometimes, I get a bunch of tiny lines instead of a full fill because my pattern fill is not set to solid. However, you probably have an alignment issue. Try this. th-cam.com/video/8EVcwMewrWQ/w-d-xo.html

    Can multiple names be done at once for labels?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use sticker paper and draw whatever you want and then cut them out. I used stickers for the top of these baby shower favors. I printed the tops on a printer but then cut the precise circles out with the ScanNCut. You always have to consider the best tool for the job. In this case, it was a combination of using the printer and the ScanNCut. th-cam.com/video/yjvhWt3AVn8/w-d-xo.html

    I typed Happy Birthday on my laptop with a font I like, and sent it to my ScanNCut. I scanned my paper in and placed my words where I wanted them, but when I click on Draw, it says nothing is there. It does not show my paper I scanned or my words. Do you only use the alphabets that are on the ScanNCut?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reason it didn't draw is because back in Canvas, you need to set it as a Drawing Line and not a Cutting Line. I have an entire course on Working with Fonts. You can watch the preview here. thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses

    OMG NO Tape Please! I have had the tape jam in my machine what a night mare to get out. NEVER again will I use ANY tape. A good adhesive on your mat is all you need.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use tape all of the time AND I use great adhesives for re-tacking my mats. I use my ScanNCut so much that my sticky wears off quickly. Tape was stuck before but I got it out. Washi tape is the worst. Painters Tape hardly ever gets stuck. I am not afraid of it getting stuck as much as I am afraid of ruining my paper as it keeps slipping. Thanks for watching.
