    Your ring finger is usually your shoe size, middle finger a size up from ring, index a size down or about the same size as ring, pinky and thumb idk at least that’s what I’ve been told and it was correct for me when buying rings, I wear a size 8 and size 8 fits my ring finger perfectly, middle finger is 9, and index 8 as well for sometimes 7 too

    Hi Julia! Love yo vids!! Im a first semester student in college and I am really hoping i can make it into my rad tech program in the future 😩. I also plan on transitioning into MRI. I was watching one of your old vlogs and I was wondering why your parents suggested that you go into rad tech first then ct/mri?

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good luck with your schooling! That's super exciting.
      They suggested that pathway for me because general radiography is a great career, but also a great stepping stone if you're interested in the various modalities. I wasn't sure where I wanted my career to take me because I had interest in all of the modalities! I also love general x-ray, which I also still take regular x-rays at my new job!
      With CT, you have to have to be registered in a "primary pathway" in order to later train. For me, Radiography is my primary pathway because I'm an R.T.(R). MRI can also be a primary pathway, but there are no MRI programs near me.

      I worked part-time as a student x-ray tech while I was in my 2nd year of school from September 2019-May 2020, graduated from my program in May 2020, and worked in full-time in x-ray from May 2020-March 2021. I started my CT/MRI job in April 2021.
      It just depends what opportunities you find! Some people start in other modalities straight out of school.
      As for finding those opportunities post-grad from x-ray school, a lot of it is by word of mouth or from applying to jobs who are willing to train people into MRI/CT!

Bone are easy but is there a method to memorizing the muscles? Also I see you wear jewelry, can you wear earrings and other jewelry while at working being a rad tech? LOVE your channel that you for taking your time to make all these videos! Hopefully a future rad tech here.

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      General radiography doesn't require us to learn any muscles, only bones and organs. For CT/MRI, I will quiz myself on the muscles by using diagrams in quiz format (purposegames.com might have helpful visual quizzes).
      That will depend entirely on facility policy. All of my facilities I've worked for and had clinical at allow minimal jewelry that doesn't interfere with safety of yourself/patients and allows for proper hand hygiene!

    When you cross train for CT what classes are you generally taking for it ? Do you have to take classes such as General classes (such as history or English classes) or all they just classes that just have to do with the CT cross training program? What type of degree do you get once your done with cross training in CT ?

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      CT is a post-primary pathway, so there are no college programs to learn it. Therefore, you will need a degree before you work in CT. I went to college and graduated a year ago with an AAS in Radiologic Technology (x-ray) and then passed my ARRT radiography boards, so I'm a registered radiologic technologist.
      Cross-training is basically all self taught and learned through on-the-job training. I'm using the ASRT 16 credit program to learn the didactic side of CT. I have to log so many exams during this time, and once I meet all of the criteria, I will have to sit for another registry exam to earn my CT credentials.

      You’re a actual moron. It’s a lifestyle vlog meaning she shows life around work as well as little bits of work. As you should know (but then again you’re an idiot) there are guidelines within healthcare that must be follow or healthcare workers can lose their license. In cases like Julia where she vlogs her lifestyle and work balance - she cannot share just every little thing she does at work. Almost her entire job is patient care which she legally cannot share these patients. Many of us love watching people have a nice work/life balance which Julia has and executes nicely as seen in her vlogs. Again, you’re a moron. Advice for you too, next time you think of being a d!ck on someone else’s channel remind yourself that your comment makes them good money! Increases engagement, the payment, and makes this video come up in more places. So, I’m positive Julia is grateful for your service. Have a good one xo

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The intro is actually only 2 minutes and 22 seconds not 5, and this is a LIFESTYLE CHANNEL purely for entertainment, not education.
      If you don't like someone's video, I'd suggest just exiting out next time because the more you view and comment, the more engagement you give and the more revenue you put in the creator's pocket. Have a wonderful day!

    • @tlehman0001
      @tlehman0001 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JuliaKristine I'm not opposed to giving you revenue. My opinion doesn't change though. I was expecting you going over learning positioning, equipment, technique, but instead was watching you get ready in the morning, put on makeup, driving, you watching yourself "read a book"...it was just really vain and silly. Maybe my comment will help you make your content a bit less narcissistic and a bit more informative.

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tlehman0001 Hahaha like I told you, this is a lifestyle channel. Go elsewhere for that content and don't watch me if you don't like it. Being that there are millions upon millions of channels on TH-cam, I would imagine it would be pretty easy to find something else that would be of help to you in the information department.
      Of note: I can't even imagine wasting precious moments of my life commenting on content I don't enjoy. I guess if it helps you feel better about yourself to call people vain when you don't even know them, do what you gotta do. It says more about you than it does me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I hope you find some enjoyment out of your week.
