Great video Alex, the takeaway is such a critical part of the golf swing. This drill will help golfers get it started off right leading to better golf swings. Cheers
Really like this drill I've always struggled with taking away on inside and a flat swing plane and searched many videos looking for something that was simple tried it on the range this morning with all club's definitely helped with consistency and ball striking especially with longer clubs and 3 wood it's a 13 degrees one I prefer it to a driver
Same I struggle with this as a low handicap and it amazes me how bad my takeaway gets 😂 but it’s no wonder I feel so disconnected with the arms I’m Mr Fan
That all makes sense. I'm going to try it today. Hope it can stop the 1 in 4/5 drives that push badly or worst still push slice miles right. Thanks, Brian
I am new to your channel, stumbled across it watching golf videos.. I've really enjoyed the content I've seen so far. Good instruction and illustration of drills. Keep up the great work!
Heck we can even practice this drill anytime we want to at home by simply staying balanced in our golf posture ( all joints free to move) placing the palms of our hands together and then swinging our triangulated hands and arms together back and forth stopping at the junction just before our trail side elbow bends or our lead side elbow bends. I believe AlleyT was the first to show us this move so many years ago. If anyone knows better please correct me. Cheers
Thanks for this Alex, love the drill. Could you please do one for 'setting the club' with the driver. This is an area I struggle with. Thanks again, Dara
@@AlexElliottGolf thank you Alex, I know I'm over thinking it, especially when it comes to the orientation of the hands and how the left and right should work through the 'setting' process. Thanks again, Dara
I'm struggling to get a swing thought for my downswing I recently had a club fitting and on the video the professional said my take away and position at the top is really good but my hands are too quick and I turn the ball over

Love this. People tell me I've been fanning the club open for years.... I'm sure this drill will help! Thanks
Perfect less, get that face under control during that backswing and start to have more control of your Downsing and ultimatly ball flight

Excellent, going to do it straight away. Make lots of sense. Thanks
Man, this is what I struggled for a long time even for a 6-hdcp. So far, this is the best video for swing takeaway. Thanks Alex! 👍👍👍

Great video and tip/drill. Is there any difference on the takeaway feel for irons or wedges?
Thank you! And yes... keep your eyes peeled i will be doing lots more videos on this
Great video Alex. Does this apply to irons also?
Definitely I would use the same feels with the irons too!
yes it does
Excellent idea, I will take it to the course tomorrow. Does one do the same with irons , rescues and fairway woods?
yeah!
Nice video mate! I think Tommy Fleetwood was doing this drill as well! I tried it out and definitely got some better connection and straighter shots!
Thank you paddy love that!
Since doing this or rather remembering to keep the toe down on takeaway my drives are better
Fantastic!!
Alex do you do the same with irons I'm hitting my driver great but really struggling with my irons
I definitely do Dave!
