I have 2 of these tractors, 1 here at my house and 1 at my moms……they are great tractors! I also had a friend that had one and bought another, now his are for sale due to his death. Once you’ve owned one you will never give it up!

How did you check the spark? I’m getting fuel and it was running fine a few days ago. But now I crank with no fire.

Has a very familiar sound. I have had my 322 since 2005. Lately, it runs for a bit but then it seems to backfire, kick the PTO off, and then it won't turn over. I assume the PTO is not switched off so that stops it from turning over. But, it seems to right itself when it cools off and then I can mow again for about 20 to 30 minutes. Any ideas what is causing the backfire?

Hello, I recently got a 322 and am looking for a bagger like yours has. Do you know if they can be purchased or what the part numbers are?

No longer available direct from Deere. If you search for “300 series MCS” you should be able to find them used locally

Do you know how to get one of these tractors to be able to roll back and forth

There’s a lever behind the rear wheel under the seat pan (I forget which side) Push the lever down and it can be moved but keep it slow. You don’t need to move the lever back up when done, that will happen automatically.

Bob, I have a 322 that starts and runs UNTIL I take my foot off the brake then it DIES. I BYPASS "ALL" SAFETY SWITCHES AND IT RUNS NOW. TIMER DELAY MODULE?? AND "HOW DO I BYPASS THE DARN THING 🤔 And I mean BYPASS THE WHOLE THING??

Well, sorry no easy answer here. Deere made a few variants to the harness, but all the Time delay modules are identical from what I’ve seen.
Best thing I can say is to get the schematic for your individual serial number, and what you are looking for is the +12v that goes to the ignition coils & fuel solenoid on the carb. That’s the ticket right there

I have one 2 years, put all new filters, fuel filter cleaned gas tank etc.. was working great, shut it off and when I attempted to start it it turned over but nothing, no pop, zero.. this was after about 20 minutes after stopping it.. tred choking it ( manual, choke working normally ) nothing, left it sit a couple of hours, still turned over but no start.. Even resorted to a tiny shot of starting fluid with upper cylinder lubricant.. nothing.. pulled out spark plug, plug dry.. pulled gas hose to the carb, plenty of gas from the pump. What in the carb could stop the flow of gas ? Didn't check for spark but that seems to be the next step just in case.. but no gas on the plug didn't make sense... Naturally it's outside instead of in the garage where it's more convenient.. Also pulled the air cleaner to make sure there was no obstruction. That's about as far as my mechanical ability goes.. 1141 hrs, all three coils replaced just before I bought it..

Doesn’t that carb have a fuel solenoid? And also, check for spark as always.

I will not go near JD tractors. Not worth my time or trouble. They just had to put an automagic choke on there and a proprietary ignition module. No thanks JD.

Well, to be fair the automagic choke was from Yanmar as is the ignition module. The time delay module is indeed proprietary to John Deere, good point.
