Well I went ahead and just upgraded to a Scat Pack 392, but I had been trying to find info on this swap when I had my R/T Challenger and now you come out with this video. You're the only one who has been this detailed, can't wait to see what it's making on the dyno.
I was kinda confused until you mentioned the cam upgrade so yeah, a higher rpm range cam is effectively useless without a corresponding intake. Your airflow will basically flatline when the cam is in the middle of its duty cycle and you basically won't make anymore power (you'll keep your torque though).
Sounds great R/T life 👍🏽 Loud af and the speed definitely will increase with intake manifold. Loving the pulls you and FP2000 do at the warehouse. Great content bro keep it coming 💯
Thats amazing that you got that kinda mpg increase. And super glad that you are super happy with it. Also I think part of the reason the car sounds so good is the open/ exposed air filter. But I am sure the intake manifolds help that too. Super cute about what your son said. Melts your heart doesn't it !!!
I wish you all the best. Really want to see the Dyno results before I go spend a grand on seat of the pants results. I’m sure it pulls much harder than before but that doesn’t make me want to go drop a grand just to see for myself!
Yep you're going to hurt a lot of feelings with that motor. I just had somebody say "my 57 is a truck motor, 392 all day" it's because they're in disbelief of how fast we're getting these 345s lol anyway great video thanks for the update
The better MPG is awesome, the car does sound alot better, I was thinking of doing this but decided to just port my stock manifold instead, but this definitely makes me have second thoughts about that
I was looking at a Mod package for my RT Shaker. Start with long tubes, Cat Back, and a Tune. Then Pro Charger kit, and a Cam kit. Doing it in stages will require a Tune each time, according to my performance shop.
Knew you'd love it. Mine doesn't get any traction either even with the 3.09 LSD I installed it just roasts the back tires. I didn't want to say anything about the gas mileage as I didn't want to over promise what this intake did for me.
Did you look into - Edelbrock - Performer RPM Cylinder Heads for an upgrade; I'm thinking about the Performer RPM Heads, the Edelbrock Victor II EFI Intake Manifold, and BBK® - Power-Plus Series - Throttle Body with the Mopar CAI, this package runs about $3,500 in parts only. I watch the guys on Engine Masters - biggest BANG for the Buck on Hemi's according the Freiburger and Dulcich is the Performer Cylinder Heads.
What if someone who owns a 5.7L HEMI Charger tries to sell their car as a more expensive and better model such as a SRT or Higher Badged Vehicle just to scam and get more money out of someone? How do you tell the difference to avoid this possible issue?
Damn seems like alot.. but the but dyno damn sure doesn't lie... love it.. gonna have to look in to this upgrade for mine.. man keep up the valuable info.. loving it.. thanks
Recently bought a Yellowjacket '17 Charger Daytona. Looking to lower it and was wondering what tires you sittin on. I love the stance of yours. I think it will set mine off.
I have 20x9 w/ 275's in front - 20x10 w/ 315's in back - 5mm spaces all around & eibach sportline lowering springs. Gives it a very beefy look. Congrats on the new Daytona - def a lot of fun!
Sorry it took so long leave you a comment, stomach bug has me down. Dude thanks so much, love it. My only grip is the cold air intake. It's a shame it didn't work as planned. Is there anyway to cobble/fab to make it work?
Limited slip, gears, and dyno time all u need now. That's my goal, to have all your mods, plus a tq converter. Gearing made my car a monster plus no more one wheel peels.
What cam is that? I’m getting ready to dig into my 5.7 but once I’m done, I’m fairly confident I can get 450whp out of it with stock heads and using a recipe that most don’t use. I love these engines and have built a few. Ugh, gotta get this warranty to go away first lol. Gimme 18 months
I have a 6.1 intake on mine I noticed low end loss but I haven’t tuned my car for it. I don’t think I’ll gain much over the eagle. It’s non ported and paid about 400 for it then bought used rails for about 100. I don’t think the top end is worth it but I’ll better judge once tuned. One thing for sure it gets HOT! in the summer. I’ll share my results soon.

I see that you had to wire and make provisions for the active intake runners. The Ram 5.7 already has that system. My question is that being said, would putting that intake on a Ram 5.7 be an easier swap from what you experienced?
I have the challenger R/T shaker. It’s the 5.7 , plan on doing some up grades myself. But, I don’t know where to start?🤷🏾♂️. I love putting it in super track mode. I have popped 3 tires so far. I really want it coming out the hole instead of spinning. What’s a good starting point? On ur opinion? Thanks and dig the videos!
These Hemi's make a ton of torque, I hear you on the spinning! I would look into wider rims so you can get more tire in the back - I have 315/35/20 in the back. That will help a lot - then you can get that Hemi onto 93 octane with a diablo sport. That really gets the Hemi pepped up! Thank you for the support - I really appreciate it
Nice video, I have a 2014 5.7 out of a Ram pickup I plan to someday put in my 1970 Plymouth Duster and the idea of using an SRT 392 intake is appealing except for the front air intake, I have a hood scoop set up for vertical air intake like on older carb'd V-8s. I will be putting a factory replacement SRT 392 stick-shift cam in it though for sure, value for the money is excellent.
The look on your face during that first pull says it all, It sound like beast. Does that MSD box wire up the same way the stock 392s do or did you have to do a lot of splicing and cutting into the harness? Also, did you go with a stock 392 manifold or a ported one?
I didn't do the wiring but I would imagine it's similar to that of a stock 392. The gentleman that installed it is a Dodge master tech. It def made a difference, it could be the combination of all my mods now just working together but this has certainly been a nice add.
@R/T life I have a 16 Challenger I believe you answered my questions about the in take up grade with this video, but I have to ask did you swap out the cam before the intake upgrade or afterwards? The car sounds great sounds like it pulls really hard nice job 👍 👍
The install was lengthy because of all the wiring for the active runners. Probably 4-5 hours total. I have to look up the price I paid for everything - it's been a while.
Really wish there was someone out there doing this with the durango rt. I don't think there is any difference but I really wanna get that stock 360hp up to 400 to start! Only mod so far is the pedal commander. I know it adds no power but man is it fun!
Was it an aggressive upgrade for the cam? I have been talking to a lot of mopar people. And manufacturer even states that my RT can handle a supercharger without needing the cam upgrade. Just needs wiring.. Which is done, then I need fuel rails, nozzles, and fuel pump upgrade. 🤔
Josue Villanueva way out of my budget lol am not that much into cars but I can afford to get the V8, than do go that way. V8 has a better rumble hands down
You're going to have to go with a hellcat or scat pack differential to help with that traction issue. The 'traditional' differential is a limiting factor now.
I’d love to know what that would do on a stock motor. Let’s say you did an exhaust that intake and a tune. Would it improve performance and fuel mileage. That’s somethings I wouldn’t mind trying on my Ram 1500.
Appreciate the videos man. Sold the 6.1 manifold manifold last week and just ordered 392 intake and cam for my wk2. Still Debating on throttle body size. While i wait for all the parts im currently modifying bmw x5 kw v3 coilovers to directly bolt up. Going to have the height adjustment maxed out at factory ride height so ill have 2.5" of drop adjustment. also swapping in srt sway bars. Will do brakes when i start the manifold swap
scored one of these intakes for free ,so im doing it , i have an 09 R/T 6m with 3.92 rear diff. mods are , 6.4 cam with tune by johan, bbk shorties, custom cat back with mid pipe mod, 180 deg thermostat , IAT sensor relocate away from TB custom CAI (breathing from below engine bay . full rear cradle suspension bushing kit (0 wheel hop) i have a wide band 02 so i can tweak my A/F and spark. right now she screams 0-60 about 4.2 sec average . question what ddi you finally set your window rpm switch at to smooth out the dip in the intake transition ?
Love what you’re doing with the 5.7 just a side tip you probably won’t get good traction until it’s at least 70 degrees so the tires can really hook up
Nice upgrade.. feedback the only thing I feel like you should change is that front lip you installed idk man it didn’t look right I guess you can say. Other then that nice ride
Love the channel, and it’s inspiring me to upgrade my 2014 R/T challenger I’m definitely interested in the 392 intake. I elected to purchase it new from Summit $671, I know I need the actuator $111(estimated) my big question do I use the stock MAF sensor or do I need to buy after market. I’ve heard 2013+ don’t need MSD just tune but can’t find anyone who actually did that so I’ll elect to do MSD.
r/t should make a lounges on front of car vid about doing that Tranz-Tune while giving no standout info on functionality and why he chose that particular setup other than he did it and he can definitely feel the difference. Now that you didn't counter wight the car, upgrade tires, upgrade suspension.... Let's see ya' stomp that AT on that uneven/dirt layered 1980's side street!!! 😑He's feeling it😑
Have an 05 Chrysler, do you think your upgrade list will work? I have a 6.1 which locked up. Can I use some of those 6.1 parts? Maybe use the Intake manifold, fuel rails, injectors? New to this so any help will be great! Thanks.
R/T Life. I haven’t done anything to my rt yet. But my goal is to reach 500 hp. I’ve watched a lot of guys out there Nd ur on pony bro Nd I would love some advice thanks again.
I have a 5.7 Durango. I want to swap the manifold to a 6.1 or 6.4 cold air intake , oil catch can and mid muffler delete. What other part will I need with the intake swap and how much did your cam cost you?
Also that cold air intake isn’t doing thing on the position you have it on now.. isn’t getting any air if you think about need to be pushing down to the air tube receiver
I’ve been thinking down the road doing a intake manifold upgrade at some point. How would u think this would compare to a Victor II? Price and performance wise.
If you plan on staying N/A I think the 392 intake is the way to go. The Victor & 6.1 are basically the same - solid options & better if you're going forced air
R/T Life I wasn’t able to finish your install video but that guy seemed to be doing a decent amount of wiring to get it to work right? I love my little 345. Part of me wants to put SP brakes and a Hellcat blower on it and leave RT stock aero. Sleeper!
sorry for the dumb question but what is the MSD box and active runners? what does it do? how does it help? I've never heard of this before, could be an option for my 6sp RT or is this just for autos
in the intake manifold there are short & long runners that feed the heads air - at a certain RPM the MSD box switches the runners from short to long. Makes the air flow more efficiently helping performance. It can be done on both auto & manual
@@RTLife Can you make the runners permanent in the Long position? I'm working on a pre-08 5.7 stroker build that I'd like to get additional RPM's out of (adapter plates required I know)
God damn that thing was SCREAMING on those freeway pulls. I LOVE IT
Oh yah, it's pulling hard! Def cool watching it progress
R/T Life what kinda exhaust do you have

The mechanic putting in the cam is a champ. Didn't drop a single piece of ash 👏👏👏👏
hahahaha - yah he really knows his stuff. Very happy with his installation.

Well I went ahead and just upgraded to a Scat Pack 392, but I had been trying to find info on this swap when I had my R/T Challenger and now you come out with this video. You're the only one who has been this detailed, can't wait to see what it's making on the dyno.

I heard the biggest differences maker on the R/T’s is a transmission tune
I don't believe I have a trans tune
r/t should make a lounges on front of car vid about doing that Tranz-Tune while giving no standout info on functionality and why he chose that particular setup other than he did it and he can definitely feel the difference.
Now that you didn't counter wight the car, upgrade tires, upgrade suspension.... Let's see ya' stomp that AT on that uneven/dirt layered 1980's side street!!!
😑He's feeling it😑
Nice video man! Do you think I can gain any hp if I put the 90mm bbk Throttle body on a stock 5.7?
If you get it tuned you should pick up some nice torque gains. Hp though will be limited gains.
Been waiting on this review I knew you would love it I really miss my charger in 2 weeks ima try to go look at a 13 Daytona 5.7
You're going to love that Daytona! Def a great ride
@@RTLife I been watching that blue beauty for awhile now
This thing is sick!
Thank you! Really appreciate it
R/T Life notification bell turned on for sure buddy! Keep up the good work!
Have an 05 Chrysler, do you think your upgrade list will work? I have a 6.1 which locked up. Can I use some of those 6.1 parts? Maybe use the Intake manifold, fuel rails, injectors? New to this so any help will be great! Thanks.
I believe the 392 manifold is for the 11+ Hemi's. I have to double check that
good video.....will 245\45\17 tires fit good on a 8 inch wide rim are they a wide tire..?..
Hellow Sir
I see you have added a 6.4l intake manifold where did you purchase it and how much did it cost you?
Good old Pilgrim state lol. Sweet R/T. Hopefully picking one up in the next few weeks
What size cam did you put in your 5.7, what model is themed box to control the runners in the 392 intake and where did you find that I take so cheap?
Sounds awesome man 👍👍
Thank you! The RT is def getting there
Beautiful R/T man. Makes me miss my 13'
Thank you - I really appreciate it
Maybe it's just me not paying attention, but I do notice a bit of lope from the cam now, that I didn't notice before.
Everything on this RT sounds louder & better. You have to hear it in person!
Big blue is dope mang...just love the back tires...gotta do the same with my scat....
You will love it! That Scat will look like a pissed off bulldog flying down the road - thanks man
Sounds amazing. Where did you get the oil catch can and is it worth it?
Hey Rt liFe love the videos man keep it up.. I have a 5.7 Dodge Charger rt looking to add some more hp wat do u think I should start off with..
I would take a look at Diablo sport - they have tuners that will pep that hemi right up! their 93 tune will really get it moving.
Thank you for the support! I really appreciate it
R/T Life. I haven’t done anything to my rt yet. But my goal is to reach 500 hp. I’ve watched a lot of guys out there Nd ur on pony bro Nd I would love some advice thanks again.
Hey! Great video! Where can I find a 200$ Throttle Body that you said you got? Please provide a link or destination! Thanks!
it's a BBK 85mm Throttle body - Got it $200 used
Very well articulated and done! Keep em comming!lol your Son PRICELESS I remember those days!peacefully Sean.👍✌🇨🇦
Thank you very much - def want to be a helpful resource to those looking into mods. Yah he's a funny little guy! Always cracks me up
I have a 5.7 Durango. I want to swap the manifold to a 6.1 or 6.4 cold air intake , oil catch can and mid muffler delete. What other part will I need with the intake swap and how much did your cam cost you?
what exhaust do you have ? or did you just get the muffler delete or resonator delete? Sounds very good, great video!
I have 3" magnaflow catback - it's the competition series. Thank you - Def appreciate it
👍 cant wait for the dyno results!
I'm going to schedule something soon enough!
Also that cold air intake isn’t doing thing on the position you have it on now.. isn’t getting any air if you think about need to be pushing down to the air tube receiver
What brand of oil separator is that and do you recommend it? Did it come with all the necessary mounting hardware?
