I know that's a exaggeration but if it's not you actually need to chill. Most I used in a day was 320Gb and that's because I had to do a reinstall of windows on one of my PCs and redo all the updates and then download steam again and different things
@@dennisp8520 But that is completely impractical for anyone running servers, setting up databases, and transferring large amounts of files constantly. An internet connection with data caps is essentially useless if you want to do anything beyond the daily driver.
@@dennisp8520 I mean I get what you are saying, but for some people it just wouldn’t work. @@YTAccount82825 just to be clear on a couple things. 1. Data caps are bs but they are better now then in the past. I'm old enough to remember when companies like Comcast would out right just disconnect you and didn't have a unlimited option. 2. People like yourself who are clearly doing beyond business activities on a residential line are one of the reasons companies in the EULA have a fair use agreement. 1Tb I'm 5hours consistently is not normal usage at all. You are quite literally falling in the .01% camp. I'm not saying I couldn't do what your doing because its easy enough just uninstall my massive steam library and install everything again but I would have to try really hard. Also running servers for pretty much every ISP is not permitted on residential internet for this reason. 3. I agree that if a cap must be in place 1.2Tb is to low. I feel something that is more fair are caps that are based on speed because clearly a person buying gig internet is gunna use the internet more than the person with 25mbps but it's whatever. I'll spend my extra $11 to get the cap removed.

I mostly use my Xfinity Internet for TH-cam video games single player games only sometimes I download games.I don't stream videos I don't care about Netflix peacock and I prefer to watch movies on DVDs and Blu-rays I think 1.2 terabytes of data is way more than enough for me
I live in a tiny unincorporated community within Winchester Tennessee named "Broadview". My only option (besides satellite internet {🤣}) is xfinity. I have unlimited data and sometimes exceed 4T per month. I pay $130 a month for the highest speed available. There are unforgivable things I absolutely hate about this service I'd like to vent about... 1. There are many spots in my house I cannot get internet signal at all (my house is 2400 sq. feet on top and 2k sq feet in the basement). Xfinity gave me signal boosters but they don't work at all. 2. This service goes down for "maintenance" at least 3 times a month which is absolutely ridiculous and caused me to go for the unlimited internet plan via Verizon on my phone and do odd things like cast IPTV to my fire stick because for some odd reason TH-cam TV and sling casts a black screen from my galaxy s20 to my firestick (first world problems, I know) . It seems my reality is a tech nightmare. 😂
WiFi coverage doesn't have anything to to do with any ISP. A solution for that is to run Cat 6 ethernet to different parts of the home and then install AP from a company like Ubquity. If that is not a able to be done then creating a mesh network is your next best thing and Comcast does sell Xfi pods which accomplish a similar result. Cheap wifi extenders are the worst option. 2. Comcast from a pricing standpoint is more expensive than FIOs without a promo but cheaper than a lot of other options out there like Blue ridge cable or Armstrong Cable. 3. Maintenance is something that happens all the time with any network usually it's done between 2am-4am to impact the least amount of people but it has to be done. If it's happening during the day there's reasons that can be. Someone could of ran a car into a utility pole as a example. Generally, speaking it's been 3 months since my last unplanned outage with them.
Now we are in 2021 - And now still raising fees and not only are the rates increasing, they are charging extra now if you do not have unlimited Internet. They only give you 1229gb and after that it is$10 for every 50gb used maximum charge of $100 a month on top of the increase of your monthly charge. Also, to get unlimited Internet you have to purchase their router and they charge $14 a month for that, so that increases the bill, as well. Welcome to capitalism - the real monopoly game!!
If you don’t have the gateway is 30 after the first 4 months for free. If you get the gateway is 11 dollars difference: 14 for the modem rental and 11 for unlimited after the first 4 mo free

We had no data cap when our cable and internet were bundled. When we cut the cord, all of a sudden we had a cap. As long as we turn off our Amazon Fire Stick after using it, we are cool.
My mother and I are moving into PA and this is the first time I’ll be in charge of a responsibility such as paying for Internet? Any tips on how to get the best deals and where I can accurately find out who’s around the area?!?
If you are moving and you have an Xfinity account I recommend you to close the one that u have an open a new one since they have the best promos for new customers
Thanks for the info. , Good to know as I have Xfinity.
We should sue them if they try to bring back data caps class action lawsuit now
Waist of time as it's not illegal and lots of other companies already have data caps. Look up AT&T, Frontier, Armstrong Cable, Blue Devil cable, Blue Ridge Cable, Service Electric, etc. Everyone I meantioned has caps. Comcast is just joining the party
My problem is the they say I went over 1274 gig but my side says iv only used 12.74
I guess I’m part of the 5%🤦🏽
guess me too by double the cap. Thought I was using internet less too
I was considering switching to Xfinity 1000mbps, now I am reconsidering. I bet I use more then 1.2tb. Just on my computer I have 356gb in last 30 days. then I have 2 4k TVs I stream.
If you have a triple play there are packages that come with unlimited data included such as the signature + more and super+more
Do u know if that is happening to spectrum as well
Spectrum never had a data cap, but they're trying to get clearance to implement them.
Spectrum can't implement the cap due to their agreement from the merger but their trying
I have a question. I have Xfi gataway with their modem-router already. If I sign up for Xfi complete, will I have to get a whole new modem router from them or will Xfi complete automatically kickin with out me having to get a whole one?
It should automatically kick in
Xfinitys cap is 1.2TB I hit that shit everytime, we have a lot of devices:P only started hitting the cap during COVID-19
U can go ahead and acquire xfi complete(unlimited) for free during 4 months and then just a 11dollars extra difference to have it
Is the unlimited data have the same speeds that you have on ur plan? like if you have a 100mpbs plan will i get 100mpbs speed with unlimited data?
Yes.
I ordered TMOBILE Home, COMCAST = EVIL
i did the same thing i got T-Mobile home internet other day
@@LuckyTheCat777 hey I've got T-mobile , how's that work actually ?
@@sambumanglag6432 not that good but i need to save money
Is it worth paying $129 for the 12 months or $150 with no contract (Just month to month)
I hit 2 TB in December...
How about ISPs stop monopolizing the market on data and we get some of that free market competition?
What 1TB? I would use that data cap in less than 5 hours are you kidding me? Thankfully I don’t have data caps, but this is completely ridiculous. You should be embarrassed Comcast.
I know that's a exaggeration but if it's not you actually need to chill. Most I used in a day was 320Gb and that's because I had to do a reinstall of windows on one of my PCs and redo all the updates and then download steam again and different things
@@dennisp8520
But that is completely impractical for anyone running servers, setting up databases, and transferring large amounts of files constantly. An internet connection with data caps is essentially useless if you want to do anything beyond the daily driver.
@@dennisp8520
I mean I get what you are saying, but for some people it just wouldn’t work. I don’t know why I would need to buy a commercial internet plan when I can just use a data cap free home network, as long as the bandwidth is high enough. I mean, even if you aren’t using high amounts of bandwidth, I wouldn’t think it would be very difficult to surpass a 1TB data cap within a month.
I’m glad I have Google Fiber.
Hit me every month my internet cost between 95.00 and 150.00 every month just for internet. Now they are getting rid of the free AV also. This is a monopoly.
Comcast used to give you two complimentary months a year if you go over that cap.
sbradfie They quietly changed that to 1 month
Just got an email from them they giving 2 complimentary months no charge and then a 3rd month on top of that so they dont make everybody too angry. Dont like seeing it capped but at least they didn't surprise with it.
Oh yeah Xfinity great job 😡 I got 5 family in my house and we are all on the WiFi, so yeah we go over a lot
I’m having the same issue bro xfinity gone get they shit fucked up one day
Just used the public wifi
I have a family of 5 as well and before and during covid we never hit the cap
Easy fix. Take away from comcast what we so graciously gave to them. All of that infrastructure money. 2GB speed for all brought to you, free from your local government.
I mostly use my Xfinity Internet for TH-cam video games single player games only sometimes I download games.I don't stream videos I don't care about Netflix peacock and I prefer to watch movies on DVDs and Blu-rays I think 1.2 terabytes of data is way more than enough for me
thankgod i hav fios
Generally, speaking it's been 3 months since my last unplanned outage with them.
no one who actually watches quality 4k/hdr content can stay under 2TB
Who wants at&t services on discounted price?
@@jaelfurcal8112 Might be better off pinging off a satellite in space!
TH-cam remove all comment that affect Comcast please anyone can help me. Comcast won’t release me after I lost all my life saving do to the pandemic force me to close down my business. They still charge after of month closing down my business. Help me
I had literally not a single clue that wifi was capped or was in gb plans like phones 🤣 I thought if you had wifi, you just had wifi 😂🤣 like totally unlimited. (Il live with my parents maybe thats why) my dad never said anything about it but my mom, boyfriend & myself (remote college student) likely exceeded 1500 gb. my xfinity wifi has been so horrible lately I'm so sick it, ever after FOUR xFi pods!!!!
Our data habits are well... we'd need the Unlimited package. I've downloaded MW at least twice. Today, that's half a TB, LOL. Never mind 1080 streaming all day from Amazon and online gaming, auto updates, music, TH-cam, etc...
This is dumb. Cellular plans pretty much give us unlimited data and broadband goes archaic.
Cell phone plans most definitely do not give us even a fraction of this. 50Gb is the soft cap from T-Mobile before network management which is actually legit throtteling and carriers like AT&T will absolutely cut you off if your a heavier user
@@dennisp8520 ill have to check my data usage. I know my HS has a 100 GB cap and my Data his higher than that of course.
Thiugh I'll admit, I'm a lucky SOB and my Grandfathered in plan is one reason I have not left TMobile.
@@Sinn3246 T-Mobile originally had the soft cap at 21Gb a d bumped to 50Gbs this applies to Simple Choice, Simple Choice North America, One plans, and Magenta
@@dennisp8520 Ah, then I'm an outlier. My issue was the extra $10 for 10GB back in the day. Cost me one time and all it took was once when I realized I'd be using a crap ton of data. Hola !! Nice vid muchacho!!
I believe for 30 extra you can remove said cap. Not sure if u mentioned cuz my dog saw squirrel-was barkin up a storm ova here 😂
I think my cap is 1TB.
I really can’t see myself hitting anywhere close to that in a month but I’ve been known to be the exception to any rule 🤦♂️

I do not have a hard data cap !!!! Fuck yeah !
1.2 TB ? Bahahaha hahahahaha
I’ll blow right dafuq thru your 1200GB
And I’ll enjoy it.
I m one of does data caps
I can’t play my Xbox now 😐
Get xfi complete
Can somebody explain to me why an Xbox takes up literally all the data usage?
Prob because your gaming and it takes a lot of data I think hope this helps
Not true gaming doesn’t do it. Streaming apps like Netflix and stuff does. Just saying
@@bbrewington6 actually the biggest data usage is all the updates in the background call of duty cold war for example was a 120Gb download on PC
@@dennisp8520 i was talking about the data cap through comcast. if you just play games thats it nothing else, it would take a while to reach data cap... now if you stream and watch youtube and all kinds of stuff that uses uoload and download to take a stream and give you 1080p or higher then yeah you will rreach the cap... also this was two months ago that i said that.. i have unlimited through comcast now.
I have xfinity, am on the internet almost 16 hours a day and have never come close to the data cap. Maybe 30% on a really busy month. That includes watching a lot of these TH-cam videos. The bandwidth hogs SHOULD pay more as their over consumption slows down speed for the rest of us and Comcast has to add more resources to accommodate their bandwidth hogging.
Bandwidth hogs? I have 5 people in my household, per month that isn’t even 300 gigs per person, if you are the only one in your household try staying under 300 gigs every single month, with all your devices
You do realize things aren't free right? Caps are to keep a network from crashing. Furthermore every high speed internet uses fiber, so the difference is does it get converted at the house or street
Or switch to another isp without data caps
If only it were that easy. In my area we have AT&T and Comcast. Both have a 1TB data cap.
just myself here
Caps suck Xfinity
