There is a potential for creatine supplementation to improve cognitive processing, especially in conditions characterized by brain creatine deficits, which could be induced by acute stressors (e.g., exercise, sleep deprivation) or chronic, pathologic conditions (e.g., creatine synthesis enzyme deficiencies, mild traumatic brain injury, aging, Alzheimer’s disease, depression). Creatine may be beneficial to brain health (e.g., cognitive processing, brain function, and recovery from trauma). This is a growing field of research, and the purpose of this short review is to provide an update on the effects of creatine supplementation on brain health in humans.
In this talk, Prof. Eric Rawson PhD (Messiah University, USA) presents about the ""Creatine Supplementation and Brain Health"".

Well I have been using Methylene Blue for 14 months now.. I have definitely noticed an improvement on many levels mentally and Physically.

I've been taking Creatine for close to 4 years.
Until 6 months ago the dose was about 5 gms.
After listening to other presentations on Creatine and older people (I'm 70) I decided to up it to around 8 gms.
I usually don't take it when exercising, as many suggest. It's just easier to prepare it in the morning and take it with me to work.
    My observations?
I've had mild strength gains and durability when doing my light weight lifting workouts.
I've also experienced increased muscle definition.
    What about brain health?
Not sure. My short term memory may be a little better. There could be other positive benefits that aren't observable outside of running medical tests.
    Any negatives? None.

So if creatine reduces mitochondrial dysfunction it could be assumed that it will improve health in individuals 40 and older on a regular consumption basis?

I’ve been on blood pressure medications, including losartan, and my doctors have no problem with my creatine supplements. I’ve been taking creatine for over 2 years and my blood press is well under control.

Is it possible that the brain has a smaller amount of tissue compared to skeletal muscle tissue and that is why it needs to absorb less creatine?
