      @@ravenwundis it makes a little hum when cord plugged into ‘SEND’, but not ‘RETURN’. Kind of like plugging a cord into the input without a guitar connected to it. I hope this helps 🎸

    I just purchased used Crush 35RT today. At first I don't know to set crunch/ distortion sound. Haha, I taught my amp was faulty. Cranked both dirty & gain up to 1 o'clock, makes me feel sick hearing that freaking noise and cannot get distortion sound. Luckily found this amazing tutorial from Rock Hard Riffs. You really made my day, man.
    Now I know how to get distortion sound from this amp itself. I just want to discover how to do it without overdrive/ distortion pedal. At least it was working because I will mainly use clean channel and pair with my stomp boxes.
    I really feels this amp really did a good job. Can wait to jam with my band soon. Thanks thousand times to Rock Hard Riffs. God bless Us All. Cheers!!

    I have a Crush 12L, and use a Squier Bullet SSS HT Strat. Interesting little box to dial in. I like 7/5/4 of T/M/B settings. The OD is set around 7 & the Gain at 8. Volume is anywhere between 3-10 for as loud as you want to drive it for a 12W solid state combo. The guitar volume is between 8-10, with a preference for 9-9.5 with the tone knobs dimed.

      @@RockHardRiffs The Crush 12(L) is Orange's version of a Fender Frontman 10g. My solution is to put a Klon in front of it & use the Klon as a clean boost pedal.
      But that little 6.5" speaker is what holds it back. I'm thinking about opening it up, wiring it so the combo can also be used as a head into a 8-12 inch cab. I did that with a Pyle PVAMP60 1x8 combo. Sounds better going into a 1x12 or 2x12 cab.

    I just bought this amp and I have a question about the dirty channel, it provides me just a bit of distortion effect which is not much different from the clean even though I try to turn the gain and dirty volume up a lot more it still doesn't sound like what I've heard in those reviews (I plug my guitar directly into the amp and play it without any effect pedals) So I was wondering if it's just because my guitar (Fender mustang with single coil pickups) or maybe I just need some effect pedals to help build the sound because the pickups don't do much with the dirty , any tips?

    • @RockHardRiffs
      @RockHardRiffs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      HVNNA ....thanks for the question. If you're looking for high gain....turn the GAIN UP past 3 o'clock. that should be plenty high. now adjust your dirty channel volume to your liking. and yes....the pick ups will matter. the lower the output...the less signal is being sent to the amp...and less signal to overdrive. Remember....TURN GAIN UP FIRST....make sure guitar volume all the way up...then adjust volumes on the amp. Let me know how it works for you!

    Is that hissing sound of the amp normal ??

    • @RockHardRiffs
      @RockHardRiffs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. That's called "high gain hiss". Some amps are worse. Some pedals are quieter.

      @@RockHardRiffs ok ! I just rec'd a Orange crush 35 RT yesterday . The amp is dead quiet upto 11 o clock gain after that it becomes noisy ! Tried many combinations !! Surprisingly my Fender classic vibe 50s strat is comparatively quieter than the Yamaha Revstar RS 320 with humbuckers . The amplifier is dead quiet if nothing is connected even at full volume and gain . The moment I connect the guitar the hissing starts . Good sir , any tips on how to reduce this noise . Subbed to your channel as you have lots of info about the OC 35RT . Waiting for your reply ! Thanks a ton for the great videos !! Greetings from India !!

      @@SuperKillbill66 there are different 'gain stages'. The more gain...the more hiss. Is this happening on the clean channel as well? Keep in mind...I didn't design or build these things. Something could be wrong...but I have no idea. Wish I could help more. Good luck

      @@SuperKillbill66 you can always get a noise gate pedal. I have an Orange CR120C, very noisy fella'. Different power sockets to plug in, different level of noise, it's not the same hiss. I bought a Silencer - Electro Harmonix and it does the job. Hopes it will do a good job on a 35rt, because I want a downgrade, the 120C is too big, even for small live shows...

    Can the effects be switched on and off by footswitch? Just wondering. Friend of mine has a newer 35rt, and for a 10" speaker - it's a great sounding amp

    • @RockHardRiffs
      @RockHardRiffs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dusty. The foot switch changes channels…from clean to dirty channels. Reverb and fx loop are not affected by foot switch on this model. Yes I agree about the speaker…it really rocks 🎸

      Erick Jordan a loud band/drummer probably not. It’s not just the wattage.....but that it’s solid state...not tube. It’s hard to explain but tube cuts through much better. If you’re using a PA....just mic it. No problemo 🎸
