I’ve seen the term Kata Sankaku. Is that a form of hadaka jime?

HADAKA-JIME is a superb Shime-waza that most people mistakenly think is simply a matter of exerting brute force. Consequently, they do it incorrectly and the technique fails. As with all other Shime-waza, finesse and precision are called for as Sensei Riki amply demonstrates. His tips on wrist placement, keeping the elbow down, and turning instead of pulling when applying pressure on the trachea are absolutely priceless.
Sensei Riki clearly demonstrates in this video how effective and how potentially lethal Hadaka-jime is; it is a truly ideal combat choke not to be treated lightly and I am delighted that Sensei Riki has given time to providing quality instruction in its proper execution. Many, many thanks. 🥋
P.S. I have a question for Sensei: what does he consider to be a safe minimum age for a student to start learning Shime-waza? I personally don't teach Shime-waza to anyone below 18 years.

Thank you Jun! We asked him, and he said he'll usually wait until the age where shime-waza is allowed in competition. Though he makes a few exceptions for exceptionally mature kids.
