    A easy way to make a design wall is tack up a picnic table cloth with the fuss side facing out . And you have a great size design wall 😊

      Great idea! I mentioned this in my design wall video! I absolutely love when people use a picnic tablecloth and they are so low cost!!

    You have done an incredible job of explaining this. I really appreciate your being so thorough in every step. This is the only tutorial I have watched that makes me feel I can accomplish a bargello quilt. Thank you for sharing, you are a pleasant personality to follow along with.

      Thank You so much!!! I know how hard it was when I first started sewing to find tutorials that would explain things to me, so I REALLY try to explain in ways everyone can understand

    I really really like how you so simplify everything. Your instructions are really easy to follow. You don't skip anything, assuming that the people watching automatically know what you're talking about. I've watched a few others that just left me bewildered. I'm so glad I kept searching and came across your video. Thank you very very much!! I'm sorry, I don't see where the link is for the design wall.

    Great Tutorial - nicely done! Thanks a lot. Actually I would not have choosed the Bargello, but as I promised a Marriage Quilt and asked, what wishes they had (Color + Style) my niece and her husband came up with a Bargello. What a surprise to me! I had also a graduated fabric in the eye, dropped it now - thank you for the hint about that.

    Just watched a video on this same type of quilt and she ironed all her seams open. I thought that seamed (no pun intended lol) like a lot of work!!

    • @Quiltoni
      @Quiltoni  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LOL, I love the pun!!! There are a lot of quilters that will die on the hill of iron seams open or iron seams towards the dark fabric. I personally like the easy and fast method that makes sure seams line up as well!

      Yup. This is why I joke that words are hard. As a major neuro-divergent person I mix up a lot of words. I didn't want to refilm everything when I saw that. (Would have been a few hours of work for that one wording).

    brilliant, one day i will get round to making one of these, ..however when you first make your strip set tube, if you iron one up the next down the next up and so on, they'll automatically nest, when cut into vertical strips (the seam between 3/4 will be the opposite when joined to 4/5 or 2/3 and thus nest) , saves having to re,iron this only works with an even number of strips...

    • @rachaelb9164
      @rachaelb9164 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol I was going to say the same thing. That’s the way I’ve seen other you tubers do it but you’re the only one that I’ve seen that explains how to make up your own pattern. I want to make an ocean beach scene quilt for my niece.

    These bargello quilts are so beautiful, but omg - it would help to be OCD to make one. Mine turned out OK, but - never again!

    • @Quiltoni
      @Quiltoni  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now that you know the techniques behind it, try a pattern! If you follow it then you don't need to be OCD.

    You can get the plastic table covers with the soft felt like on the reverse from like JoeAnn Fabrics, by the yard, cheep and works good. Just use the fluffy felt on the reverse to use as a design wall. I have been using mine for 7 years or more and still works great. Think at that time .99 a yard so 2 yards is plenty. Happy sewing.

    • @Quiltoni
      @Quiltoni  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your design wall is having issues, pin them in place. I put a pin in the top of each strip if it just doesn't want to stay.

    I dont have 2 jelly rolls etc..I have 56 different strips, lots of close in colour but not pattern all batiks , I’m wanting to make a lap size what’s the best way of figuring out how to make this work?

    • @Quiltoni
      @Quiltoni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Debbie! If you skip to the video time stamp of design I show you how to lay out the design of the quilt. If you are using strips that are 2.5", then you want to use 2 inches as your finished size for length, divide the length you want by 2 and that will be the number of strips in your tube!
