It need to be heated so the bottle is warm to the touch and i do mean warm, and warm up the model with hairdryer also before use and then you will get the best results. I have been using this stuff for years, and you can thin it on the model, and the other two is best used unthined first and featherd out after its on the model. But both rust colors can be thinned a bit before used but i get better results with thinning and feathering it on the model. Says this on the side of the bottle
Awesome to see this in use. Some best practice advice,
Just mix well. 30 seconds on a vortex or scrape the bottom of the pit and shake for 2 minutes.
Warming only helps with mixing. It just can't be cold. No need to warm the model or the pot.
@@goblinshut have you tried? Its a huge diffrence
@komma8203 Hey! Yes! We distribute to the entirety of North America, and it has been a challenge staying ahead of the hype! Especially since this stuff has to be mixed more than any other paint out there!
In most cases, when warming does more than help mix, it's because the pot isn't thoroughly mixed to start with. As long as you're in the room temp range, you're OK for the effect. We recommend just air to dry as well as heat from a blow dryer can sometimes cause adverse effects.
Water stippled into wet dirty down will provide an amazing effect, as does premixing like you mentioned! Great advice! Perfect for the moss and verdigris too to get a natural flow between color ranges
Premixing with water or alcohol will sacrifice the range of color while giving a brighter fine pigment that will settle around all your details
@@goblinshut i always use a stick mixer to mix it up, so i always have it totaly mixed, and I use hot water to thin it. yes its been a real hype around it for the last 2 years, i been using it way longer than that, since it only came in huge jugs
@@komma8203 I appreciate you spreading the good word!
Could you use this in an airbrush
Is this the same stuff as modelmates rust?
The problem with dirty down rust is trying to varnish it without it loosing most of its affect
To varnish, just use 3 light dustings letting each fully cure it between. But you don't need to as its fine for regular use.
Do you need to seal it afterwards?
Nope! Holds up fine foe tabletop use
well a look in to god stuff seen it in the wild yes exsesive but if does as say and show will might get see as do new
dont use your fingers to smooth it. This paint is quite toxic and having it on your hands and they touching your face can cause issues.
