This interview was so much better than I expected it to be. I was hesitant to listen to it, but now I'm really glad I did. I think it ended up being one of your best. Daniel Puder is a way more interesting person than I had imagined.
This was a great interview. I was wondering what happened to him. Happy to see he picked up his ball and went rolling to make a positive difference in the community.
He might not be a great wrestler to you but , He is spreading a positive message & seems to be trying to doing something about it. Hate him or love him you gotta respect someone trying to help kids who don't have a lot of help! & who cares about the Angle incident, We all know Angle was a phenom & This would only be a Real Match with Kurt in his Prime!
Imagine him caming back for a revenge story line against The Miz. "THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME! I WON TOUGH ENOUGH! I WAS TOUGH ENOUGH! YOU'LL ALWAYS BE NUMBER 2 TO ME!"
It seems he has always been an entrepreneur, he’s go the drive to be successful. I hope a lot of pro wrestlers are watching these interviews, it’s important that they are aware there are other paths, be it after ending a successful career or just adapting in case things don’t work out as intended. Thanks for the great content, Chris!
Chris Van Viliet is the best celebrity interviewer out there, the man is literally interested in every story each interviewee tells him and it shows in his interviews
That is why the current late night hosts fail miserably. They think their guests are there to talk so that they can interject with something funny (and fail at it).
In the world of "I never saw that shit coming" we have Puder's life. What a fascinating interview and person. Kudos to him for what he's done with his life
This interview was amazing I've always like Daniel puder and I always knew he got a raw deal with WWE very recently I've walked away from WWE because of exact things that were talked about in this interview their self-serving organization full of bullies that don't really care about their public as long as their bottom line still stays big I can go on and on but thank you Chris thank you Daniel
When I was a teen I watched Daniel Puders Tough enough run only for the fact that Daniel Puder was in it. Think I still have the dvd of the whole thing. I was so confused why I never saw him on WWE since he won the whole thing. It was a jealous time in the WWE at the time. People were still protective of their spots and hazing/ bullying was around. Puder could have easily made them all tap. He chose the smart way out though. Glad he is happy and doing well.
A swear, when he debuted I was totally sold! I thought he was awesome. Got me into MMA, as I had never heard of it before the Angle incident and the fallout. Thought it was a shame how WWE treated him.
Wwe didnt treat him any type of way. He ruined his shot lol. He put angle in a real submission he was demanding more money than he was worth. His ego did it. When he put angle in that real submission angle had just had nevk surgery and couldnt feel his arms and this dudes putting a real submission on him? It was suppose to be a shoot wrestling match with no submissions only pinfall. Kurt did and interview on it
I think the guy he's referring to that did Puder wrong in WWE that he didn't name was Bill Demott....his daughter died at hands of drunk driver. Now Bill is finally doing good and trying to change drunk driving laws where as a trainer not a lot of wrestlers say good things about him
These are great, but I wish there were timecodes to help us get to the issues that matter. It's a lot to go through an hour of content to get to specific themes.
Puder was set up in that rumble match... if you don't know how the business works you would think that was scripted, maybe it was, they just didn't give puder the script. Vince must have gotten a good kick out of it. He told puder to cut that promo. Knowing who was in the ring and who was coming out at #4, they were all in on it
Glad he seems to be helping out all these students. I think cause many attempts at police reform have failed, defunding has come up, which is basically reallocating money to other social services so the police don’t have as much on their plate. Major reform is still needed which is still being called for and Daniel touched on that.
Chris this is amazing you got pudes one of the what if for mma in wrestling Mr. Puder sir you could have been great I wish you lasted longer bud I legitimately love(d) you miss you man please think of a possible return would love it man
I had no idea Daniel Puder trained under Javier Mendez at AKA. No wonder he also left with an undefeated MMA record (before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, I'm not comparing him to anyone else with an undefeated records).
Nice to hear he sounds like a nice guy, I thought he won the million bucks and went off on a crack binge. Glad he didn't, happy he's doing what he is doing.
idk why WWE got mad when Daniel put Angle in the Kimura lock (which hurts like a bitchhh lol) when they made all those matches a shoot and said try your best. After that they should've pushed Daniel and did a feud between him and Angle.
I think Kurt got butt hurt when he almost snapped his arm. Kurt was out there to just bully and make them look a fool and almost lost his arm to some random guy on live tv.
I feel bad for how it all went down. Let's adress the 🐘 in the room. Daniel Puder was blackballed because he shamed Kurt Angle and didn't apologize for it. Most of the guys who chopped him at the ppv where they hazed him could probably not take him in a real fight one on one. Pro wrestling can be a beautiful forum of entertainment, but it can also be a toxic environment w machismo crap and alot of people get bullied out of there. They couldn't break Puder, so they offered him a crap contract.
Two spontaneous thoughts: 1) I love how he laughs when the Rumble hazing moment is brought up. They really have no chance to get to him. Bret Hart, take notes. 2) Regarding the video camera in the class room: a reason for why people may want to avoid surveillance like that is because once the step has been taken to put the 'machine' in place, the people controlling it will sooner or later be replaced, even if it's decades down the line. And you never know what people with not so good intent are gonna do with it.
@@freddyd17 Bret tends to hold a grudge and also really lets the grudge get to him. Compare that to Puder here who even though he was wronged is so past it that he laughs when it's mentioned.
the delusion here is at goof levels. "bring donald trump into this", "sell out arenas". He thinks he's some sort of power draw, as if he ever was. And especially all these years later, like anyone cares. Donald Trump haha, like he'd waste his time on a 15 minutes of fame guy in a match.
Eventually, I will finish this completely but I'm really struggling. It's so hard for me to reconcile the story that Kurt Angle tells as compared to the story Daniel Puder tells. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle for me, but there are times in the first 20 mins where Puder just seems disingenuous. Maybe I'm wrong and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so eventually I'll finish this one. As always you did a great job Chris! You can't control what the other person says or how the audience feels about what they say. You still get a "like" from me on this video.
Cool story for him to turn his professional life into something completely different. I never liked how the Angle incident went, cause Puder was really fully to blame for any consequence, you don’t shoot on someone when it’s supposed to be a work.
I bet he's raking in the dough. Just so people know, "non profits" make a lot of people very wealthy, and then they can talk like they're so charitable as they pay themselves 500k$ to do appearances for the company. This is a HUGE part of how politicians get bribed. It's not a brown paper bag with money, it's usually a position in a company that requires you to do nothing and you get a fat check for it. And he is so self centered for a guy who only wants the help others. Why do I feel like him helping others consists of Daniel taking about Daniel. Puders thoughts on Puder are always the next thing out of Puders mouth. And he sneak disses the shit out of Kurt, just for being an addict. Dude has had his entire body broken, and this jerk is ripping for his addiction. Then he rips NFL players, wrestlers, and so on. Dudes a dick
What on earth man ? I literally listened to the whole thing Bc of the Kurt angle incident and they don’t even talk about it . He completely veered off topic ? Am I missing something
I don't like being negative, but Daniel Puder still comes off very full of himself just like he did at 20. If it wasn't for Kurt Angle, he wouldn't have the slightest name value and would probably still be working a job where people think he can't read. Buddy should probably follow his own advice instead of burying a legend twice his age who pinned him in seconds while having a broken freaken neck.
I was a fan of Puder during Tough Enough but quickly fell out of love with the guy when he came to OVW. It was clear he didn’t “want” to be there and later made denigrating remarks about the promotion and city. Respectfully, there's no 'probably' about it. Puder had a Mixed Martial Arts background (currently 8-0 at HW!) and Holly/Benoit/Eddie were just alleged tough guys. No competition at all. Taking absolutely nothing away from how amazing Benoit & Eddie in particular were!
@@skaiprulez Don't be silly. I have the upmost respect for all Pro Wrestlers & it shouldn't be a secret that a lot of them are legit tough guys but that still doesn't compare to an undefeated mixed martial artist. Worlds apart, my friend.
