Looks like Fender is lifting their game to meet the competition and that's a good thing. The Meteora shape is a refreshing change from the usual.

I dont mean to insult you but its a Retro 60s type shape that Fender is using to appeal to the younger generation. Could you imagine a musician who plays metal or even Hard Rock playing this guitar because i cant.

@@mannyfragoza9652 Yes I know, it is not my style of shape either, but I made the comment because it is an upgrade in specs for what we usually see from Fender at that price, and the shape is different from the the norm, right ?
That is all. Yes maybe that shape does not quite fit the genres you referto, but I've seen crazier things in my time.

Although I am a fan of classical forms, I must admit that Meteora is a very, very beautiful instrument! I applaud Fender's designers, Meteora looks like jumping for cougar! And at the same time a well-recognized Fender sound!

I love the Meteora shape. Have loved it since I saw it, and fell deeper in love with it when Chris Tapp of The Cold Stares picked up the first one out of the Custom Shop. This iteration is must order, must buy. On that this morning.

I have been obsessing over these guitars for a few years. I want a metallic/sparkle/flake black meteora with an ebony fretboard, an overwound p90 in the neck, and a screaming humbucker at the bridge. I would buy one as described immediately, and consider buying a second so I could take one out to play. Wish they had a Squier-priced alternative.

I suppose if you’ve got the cash to burn you could get a Strat neck from Warmoth which should fit the pocket on the meteora and then get the pups from BareKnuckle. They’ve got tons of hot hbuckers and p90s built to fit hbucker cavities

To fix the trem you need a packet of fender springs that are much like pickup mount springs but shorter and 10 times as strong. Lets you adjust the position of the arm better and helps prevent over tightening of the trem arm. I broke mine on my 86 jap strat and tracked these down after. .Because they are special metal and cost more Fender don't put in low end models !

Went through something similar on more than 1 MIM strats. Techs often came up with symptom fix its - but never really solved the problem. I ended up getting rid of them. I pretty much counted out the MIM scene. Too many QA issues for even an under 1000 guitar. Again - another few hundred later - Japan- no issues. Bass wood? okay but the craftsmanship is impeccable.

I played one of these recently, & it stacks up well against my Strat, 120 Explorer, & my HH Jaguar, the later which I'll be selling to fund purchasing of a Meteora haha. I bought it for an ex that never practiced & left it behind anyway, so it's past time to find it a new home. With the right amp, you can coax a very convincing Strat sound out of it, & the humbuckers don't quite match the Burstbucker Pros in the Explorer, but they have their own distinct thing going on, & versatility is where it's at.

I love the Meteora shape so much, but man there is always something that's just a little off with the configurations for me personally. I think it started with the parnormal series meteora which was a tele in that body shape. Then they did the hardtail one with humbuckers. Now they have done this version. This version has better colors, but I would have preferred the hardtail and P90s, lipstick, or something else.

  • @PungkiAhimsa
    @PungkiAhimsa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

This would have been my dream guitar when I was younger. I've always like offset and weird shaped guitar with pretty traditional pickup arrangement. Now I tend to like something more compact like my Squier Cyclone. I kinda felt annoyed with the extra chunk of wood in the bottom of an offset guitar. That's why I also designed an offset-ish guitar with a cut on that extra wood. Pretty close to Abasi guitars' ass. Do you still have the St Vincent? I think comparing that with this will be interesting.

They took a great design and then screwed it up. Sometimes I just want to smack Fender. I wish they had skipped these and just mounted the neck pickup to the pickguard and the bridge pickup to the body. They would have to route the pickguard either way so just skip the ugly pickup rings. Kind Regards.

when i say these people 'are bought' all i mean is that these journalists are somewhat in a business relationship with the specific brand.

The pick guard is ridiculously way too big. Did you put the spring in the trem arm?

Ok, so that August Leaves kind proves it can’t jazz haha. Well I wasn’t interested on a Meteora for that particular thing but it’d been nice. Im kinda wanting one as a gig guitar idk yet though

Nice shape but why so unadventurous finishes? I guess I won't hold my breath for lovebird burst

I like it, but it's like the Acoustasonic release all over again. Everywhere you look it's another Metora video.

I prefer it this way. We get the deluge of reviews out of the way in one day, then go back to diverse content for the rest of the month. If Fender staggered the reviews, (1) we get meteora reviews most days for a month, (2) TH-camrs get the hump with Fender because they weren't first choice day-1 channel.

Pretty much true of any "new" piece of gear that's being marketed by gear makers... I'm glad Fender is making them... and made some "standardized" changes to the guitar... all good moves of you ask me... all I know is, I WANT ONE! How about you?

but what is bad about the channels that you like showing you that gear? Back in the day a new product had the SAME ad in every magazine... did you complain about that too? Now they pay us to review these things and you get completely different and often honest points of view... I think that is MUCH better than the ads.

@EytschPi42 Couldn't agree more Henning... and when I get one, I'm putting a Vega-Trem into it... and Baby!

@@EytschPi42 Oh, I didn't say it was a bad thing, I'm just saying there is an echo on YT today. Anyways, always good to feel like I'm being crapped on for commenting though. That never gets old.
