Back about year later, the shots in this short film are sub par. Not the best, it captures one thing at a time, shots should have multiple things happening at once unless it’s an insert. And the dialogue is boring and almost predictable. People are praising the “what do you shoot?” Dialogue exchange, but it isn’t actually good because it accomplishes nothing for the story and we learn nothing new about the characters either. What I have noted is what all dialogue conversations should strive for. One last thing about the dialogue is that it seems to go like this “question?” “Answer” “question?” “Answer” too predictable. Dialogue should be more interesting than this. Give the audience 2+2. Never 4.
@@lucapizzoleo What a picture!! Hooked from the beginning. Love the attention to detail, like the fact that his watch is on the inside of his wrist, the clothes, hairstyles... awesome. Also, the music- wow! Overall a beautiful short film. Can't wait to see more of you (and definitely Ray Fritz too).
I’m so glad that this art from doesn’t always require big Hollywood budgets and fancy effects. I’m looking to pursue filmmaking of some sort after high school, and seeing projects like this is what keeps me going. Everyone did a fantastic job! Luca Pizzoleo is inspiring!
Damn, this is the most enjoyable short film I have seen. Aside from the talented filmmaking and well crafted storytelling; the set designs, props, and filming locations are all presented beautifully and will not go unrecognized. Hopefully this pays off for you! Good luck.
This is such an excellent film. Not only are the story and cinematography great, but so is the production design. The 1970s is a look that’s easy to get wrong, purely because of how unique it is, but everything from the costuming, to the mise-en-scene in this film was superb. 10/10!
I'm Brazilian and I don't know 100% English, but that didn't stop me from appreciating this incredible work of cinematographic art. Congratulations to those involved. You guys are awesome! I loved every moment. Career success for all of you 👊🏻❤
Usually short films don't really hold my attention, but this one was very enjoyable! Raz Fritz has real potential, I'm excited to see what he'll do with his career in the future.
This is amazing and an Instagram ad brought me here I went down a rabbit hole i haaaaaaate when directors gatekeep their short films like just release it brooooo so thank you Luca 😊
What a great short film and great actings too,, especially for the main actor,, and this is one of the outstanding crime drama short film i ever watching so far,, 9.8/10
Gripping lil film. Great script, acting and directing. I lived in Penngrove just outside of Petaluma in 1977. Thought it was a quiet little town---we went out and watched chickens laying eggs on Saturday night on account of Petaluma touting itself as the egg capital of the world. Also appreciate the attention to detail--the polyester leisure suit the realtor wore and the architecture of the house.
I always a huge fan of mob and betrayed styled of story, and this become one of my favorites. The shot, characters, plot, and everything in this short movie is solid, complex, and beautifull. Hats off to you guys for making this✌
It was very nice to see a short film with well written dialogue and great acting. Everything felt natural and believable while staying entertaining. Great job, I look forward to more!
This is one of the highest quality short films I’ve seen. The visuals, the audio, the actors, the dialogue were all amazing. The story was nothing to go crazy over but for a short films it was definitely good enough to keep me watching to the end. Very nice work.
Absolutely stunning! This had me on the edge of my seat, anticipating the next action. This was a phenomenal piece of art. Thankful that I stumbled upon your work!
Well done. Costumes, music, settings, spot on 70's. Acting was very good as well. Unfortunate for David, the second guy showed up for the open house. Too bad for Tom, letting his desire for revenge to stretch out too long. Frank warned him about that. Tom should have taken the advice and had Sam go with him. Apparently Frank knew Mark pretty well. Nice, slick film.
Damn !!! This is movie quality man this reminds of of (Ounce apon a time Hollywood) the way their shit and the color quality is and yellowing is great!
this is a masterpiece! so proud of you guys and everyone involved! what a film, gonna show it to people i know to spread the word. you are a master luca❤
My only view into this world is through Hollywood, but I find it incredible that a (presumably) experienced killer would jump out of hiding and shoot without knowing who he's shooting. He knows there are more than one person present.
It was great when I saw it at one of the film festivals around town and still real fucking good now. Congrats Luca, Jeremey and the cast you guys killed it. looking forward to Death of a Frenchman babyyyy
Loved the atmosphere this brung, reminded me of the cinematography of Goodfellas and it's extremely quotable. The writing besides that is okay, I liked the snappy-ness of it and the climax was bristling with this coiling tension. As a short film, this is pretty good.
THIS WAS AMAZING. SERIOUSLY AMAZING, such a very nice job done by the camera work, editing and the actors. Felt really bad for the guy who got shot for no reason by Thomas but oh well
color grading is gorgeous, acting is solid, music is good and story is entertaining. really great stuff. i also respect the fading transitions in the intro as a nod to vintage editing styles. loved this!
wow. absolutely the best short film I've seen to date. Incredible production value. The storytelling was crafted perfectly. The cinematography was beautiful. And the framing of particular shots were inspirational to say the least.
Production and acting is great. For me, I thought the intimidation scene was too unrealistic. The ending is okay, but there is not really a message or soemthing like that. That aside I think that you guys made a stunning short film. The main characters face expressions reminded me of the homelander. Good job guys keep pursuing your dream!
This was amazing,i hope you have a great future in this industry,i will do a shortfilm with my brother in a few months, this is inspiration good luck 🎉 and congratulations.
This is so awesome. I’m an aspiring filmmaker myself and just finished filming a project for school, but I’m definitely taking some pages out of your book. I can’t wait to see what else you make.
Incredible, considering it was a short film I came away from it feeling like I just watched a full length film Also just so you know I came across trailer/clips for this on Tik Tok and that brought me here! Great film, great actors, great execution, keep it up ✌🏼
I legit forgot I was watching a short film for a couple of reasons: 1) The cinematography feels like Quentin Tarantino, it doesn't feel like what a short film usually looks like. 2) Color grading - I can't get anywhere close to how beautiful this short film looked. It's stunning, breathe taking, gorgeous to just look at 3) The acting - everybody felt natural and the suspense was real 4) The editing - Don't even get me started on that. Luca is a whole different breed for putting so much effort in a short film Overall - What a beautiful short film to watch. I would love to be part of the crew in any possible way but I'm a college kid lol. Still, what a fucking beauty
Just finished watching it! Genuinely everything about this was sooo good, the talent is amazing so is the writing, acting, and especially the cinematography shots!!
Be sure to rate the film on Letterboxd, we’d love to hear what you think!

I will right now. Thank you for an excellent film.
May I know what the budget was for this short
10/10 amazing
It's a 10/10
"Im a freelance photographer"
" oh really what do you shoot?"
"mainly people"
absolute genius writing
That's what brought me here 🔥
That line was epic
Dude it flew over my head

All I can say is that I will definitely see your name, Luca, at the beginning of great movies in the future! Your short films are a motivation!
i audibly said "ooo that was nice" at 10:46 man what a transition
Romina, where are the weekly videos?

This one's well made, the sound design and cinematography and music is fucking good
No way this was a small project this had the best acting and production deserving of awards
Other than the ads appearing at the most tense moments, this film was great!
After all this time, all our hard work will finally be able to be shared... Couldn't be more excited.
Can’t wait my friend 🙌
@@lucapizzoleo To all of you, especially you, Mr. P. Well done. I'll share this around!
Outstanding job, Sir.

Best short film I’ve ever seen thought it was a full length feature film
Young Ray Liotta, through and through!

This kept me glued. It keeps moving organically and doesn't stop yet doesn't rush either. You're a storyteller for sure.
