  • This Mushroom Greenhouse is perfect for learning how mushrooms grow with certain environmental controls. The tent can be fine tuned to your specific needs.
    Regular cleaning with bleach/water solution is recommend to prevent a dirty fruiting area.
    Set humidistat to turn on at 75% humidity and turn off at 85% humidity and set the exhaust fan to turn on for 15 minutes every hour.

    Hi, I've been slowly putting together my home lab and fruiting space. I don't have any real room for fruiting mushrooms inside my apartment, however I do have space outside in my covered patio (concrete flooring), and was wondering if I could set up a Martha tent out there? I live in the PNW so generally the outdoor temps and humidity are quite favorable for mushrooms (I already have wild ones growing in nearby landscaping lol)
    Appreciate all the content and knowledge you put out 👍🏽

    • @SporenSprout

      The negative pressure of the exhaust fan replaces all of the air through the bottom of the tent. More new air comes in from the top humidifier hose also, and you can also open the tent 1 time per day and fan it manually and that works fine.

    • @SporenSprout
      @SporenSprout  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Well the way I see it is CO2 settles to the ground so the vent fan is at the bottom to remove it and humidity tends to also settle at the bottom so I have it cascading from the top down. You can do whatever you want and it shouldn’t make a big difference.

    • @SporenSprout
      @SporenSprout  ปีที่แล้ว

      The humidifier is connected to a humidistat so it turns on automatically when the humidity sensor inside the tent measures below a set number. In this tent I have it set to come on at 80% humidity and turn off at 85% humidity. You will have to test what 2 numbers works best for your size tent. The exhaust fan is set to turn on for 5 minutes every hour.

      When the exhaust fan is running it pulls new air in from under the grow tent. That works well for me with the small size, but you can definitely add an in-line fan and tweak it to your specific needs. I also have a larger grow tent that brings fresh air in through the humidity source.

      It is good to have both exhaust and intake on large tents. But in this small set up, only an exhaust intake is needed to exchange the small amount of air. The small humidifier also helps with more intake.
      On my large tent I have the filtered fresh air intake ducting coming into my humidifier tote which is inside the tent and that acts as my fresh air intake.

    • @SporenSprout
      @SporenSprout  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Spores and CO2 settle toward the bottom of the tent so that’s why I exhaust from the bottom. It doesn’t make too much of a difference on a small scale.

    • @dubb5508
      @dubb5508 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your fresh air is also coming from the bottom of the tent so you want it to come in through the bottom and push the co2 out of the fan in the top. Mono tubs are designed the same way with passive air flow using filters.
