  • This is the Martha growing chamber that I’ve been using for the past couple of years and the hardware design that I have put together to gain some success in home scale mushroom growing. Simple and affordable, this addresses the needs of proper humidity, fresh air exchange and some automation of the hardware. This is what works for me when I’m working with oyster mushrooms and Lions Mane mushrooms. Hopefully, this video will help other small scale growers who are just starting out.

    Hi! amazing video! I have a question: Could the fans inside the tent broke due the high humidity?

    Nice, I set mine up a few months ago. I still have to add an intake fan.

    Please, can you put all the links so that we can see the parts, their prices, and the items needed for the mushroom process and purchase them from Amazon?

    Can you explain to us about the differences in temperature in summer and winter, because this starts to get complicated for me and for most people 😢

    • @Teezythadon
      @Teezythadon 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Keep the Temps and humidity the same in both seasons. In the winter add a heater or heating element to maintain Temps. Most shrooms need a moist and humid environment so adjust your tent or grow space to the right conditions to meet that in both summer and winter.

    No need for an intake fan, if you have a fan sucking out. Cool setup though and I heard you state, your sucking air out cause of Co2. You need to suck the air out and get it out of your house because of the spores, Oyster gives off the most also. Don't want to be breathing all of that.

      Or you can just put a filter over the fan

      Yeah I don’t have any problems with spores. I pick my mushrooms before they really start dumping large quantities.

    AWESOME job. But rust isn't a GOOD thing on the metal shelves plastic would be BETTER 👍

    Do wipe/sanitize the tent between grows?

    • @terryrand3271
      @terryrand3271  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. I usually only clean it a few times a year unless I get a case of blotch. But everyone’s setup and grow environment is different. I try to keep the humidifier relatively clean because that is usually where the blotch comes from.

    Computer fans wont last. They have similar fans for wet conditions. It will last way longer.

      These are AC Infinity fans. Made for humid conditions and I’ve been running them for three years. If they die tomorrow I got my money’s worth. And they’re very inexpensive.

      People underestimate computer fans for some reason. I have several in a basement that is wet whole year, about 70-90% humidity depends on a season and weather. They ventilate the space every day for 12hrs past 3 yrs, zero issues, they run just as good as the day I installed them. That makes me think that Infinity brand is just putting a sticker on a ordinary non ball bearing pc fan

    dude how you getting clean air intake without any filter wont the spores and bacteria from outside will enter inside the tent

    • @terryrand3271
      @terryrand3271  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not clean air. Just fresh air, as in air with sufficient oxygen levels for mushroom growth. The fresh air isn’t coming from outdoors. Just from the room. Once a sawdust block is sufficiently colonized with mycelium it’s immune system is working effectively enough to fight off bacterial infection as long as the environment isn’t overloaded with contaminants. My blocks rarely ever get contaminated and if they do it’s usually blotch which likely comes from the humidifier system indicating the humidifier needs a proper disinfecting.
