    Why didn't you adjust the Seatpost for your body size? It looks very exhausting to see you pedaling with the legs never straightened out. Reminds me like i used to adjust the saddle on my childbike when i just learned riding and was still afraid if my feet could not touch the ground in all circumstances. Made for a very straining ride.
    You loose a lot of power and comfort with a saddle as low as that. Don't be afraid if the saddle is higher that the handlebar, because this is a racing bike frame geometry which is meant to have a positive saddle to handlebar ratio. Makes for a sportive posture and makes you go faster due to less wind resistance.
    Finding the optimal seat height: Adjust saddle height higher until your heel barely scrapes the pedal at the bottom of the pedal stroke with the knee fully extended.

    at 33lbs the Story Bikes Road Bike can be unlocked to go 28 mph (350W motor) and also features a hidden battery as well as a 9-speed Shimano Alivio shifter and hydraulic brakes.

    Most commenters completely miss the point of this bike. Its point is not to compete with those stupid huge, 80lbs motorcycle looking thingies with pedals that ride itself at 50mph. I mean why the f would anyone want a heavy motorcycle looking thingie with pedals that rides itself - get the electric motorcycle then (facepalm).
    This bike is mean't for the people who want to ride it as normal bike or use assistance when going uphill, against heavier wind etc. or go to work in hot days without sweating like a pig. This bike makes riding easy with reasonable speed by making pedaling lighter.

    That is a beautiful bike. In a city we spend most of out time between 0-15 mph. Especially with stop and start and hills. Carbon belt , brooks saddle and it looks great. How about range for you. How far can you go?

  • @keesdekok4246
    @keesdekok4246 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice review but two big mishaps 1: it can easely do 20 mph and the mottor is 450 watt limited to 350 watt in max stettings

    • @electrifiedreviews
      @electrifiedreviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks, Kees! this model has a top speed of 15 mph, which is set by the company before it ships. that top speed is locked in the app, but maybe there will be an update later that allows it to be changed? the motor here is a 250 watt nominal motor with 40 Newton meters of torque, but it probably does have a peak wattage of around 450 or so. do you have this bike as well? if so, does the one you have come with the settings you mentioned?

    • @keesdekok4246
      @keesdekok4246 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brent I do have the Curt Since August this year and very happy with it also, If you dive into the app under Vehicle you can change the power settings, was not clear for me also in the beginnening, but have now two different setting one all max and one limited for cycling off road, hope this helps !

    • @electrifiedreviews
      @electrifiedreviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kees de Kok WHAT?! no way that’s awesome. i looked but couldn’t find that setting. i’ll look again though because that would be great for anyone who doesn’t have to abide by the 15mph limit. thanks for pointing this out! also, how you liking it? anything else you can add about it? it’s always cool hearing feedback from other people who have the same bike/scooter/skateboard being reviewed

    • @keesdekok4246
      @keesdekok4246 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Brent, you can only change the settings if you are connected with the bike I just discovered. Via the menu click on Vehicle and then on normal or boost settings mode , if connected you will be able to change the settings bij just clicking on it. I learned that a bit of patience when starting to cycle is worth it, then the bike gives you a good push and then its easy sailing, I cyceled about 1000 km with it till so far (about 600 miles) I call it cycling 2.0 no experience can compare with it.

  • @tommystroeckx4617
    @tommystroeckx4617 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very nice looking bike, to bad they changed boost mode for the 2019 models to 25km/15mi, it s a bit slow, 35km/21mi boost was the sweet spot! Hope with a future update this will be integrated again.

    • @Jack-hy5ju
      @Jack-hy5ju 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Unfortunately not:/ they had to do it so their bikes were compliant with all the regulations in europe which also enables them to join services like jobrad etc.. Plus you're not insured in the case of an accident with a speed above 15mph which is also a big problem. I was also very disappointed. Maybe they'll make a new model which you can then register thus making it legal. They did at least make the hill performance and acceleration better on the 2019 models...

    • @sebobastiseppobas

    • @stanislawrogoza638
      @stanislawrogoza638 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, I have asked Ampler people and this is what they said:
      "The frame and the battery are designed in such a way that every professional bike shop is able to remove the battery and, if needed, replace it with a new one in under an hour.
      To remove the battery, you would have to remove the following in the order given:
      1) cranks
      2) bottom bracket eccentric
      3) power panel wires
      4) battery together with the motor controller

      To remove the battery, you will need specific instructions provided by Ampler Bikes, and professional bicycle maintenance tools."

    • @electrifiedreviews
      @electrifiedreviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Shawn Vega Velez i would say the overall quality and light weight. it’s def not an entry level electric bike and not even the most practical for all situations, but it’s hands down one of the most finely crafted and polished electric bikes i’ve seen so far.

    • @electrifiedreviews
      @electrifiedreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i don't believe so

    • @maksdampf
      @maksdampf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, i think so too. Rim brakes are just much lighter and cheaper than hydraulic disc brakes. While the don't give as much control as disc brake, they still have ample stopping power and don't tend to need as much maintenance and adjustment as disc brakes which start to squeal every few weeks if you don't recenter them often. I feel disc brakes are only worthwile for downhill bikes where you need to brake a lot and the wear of the rim would be a big factor. On a lightwheight city ebike i would go with rim brakes 100% of times.

      15mph is the legal limit in Europe (inc UK). Born to be mild! I bought the Stout which is a little heavier as it has a pannier and is not 100% carbon fibre.
