Why did they decide to have it mounted on the front wheel? Why not connect it from the seat post to the back wheel? from an aesthetic, and functional POV it makes sense, you'd reduce a bit of the width as well.
I think the best interface for an add-on device like this would be to have a sprocket to interface with or drive the chain directly rather than a tire.
they have one called Livall but there's no independent reviews on it. Someone is selling one on FB marketplace so I guess they are finally rolling them out.
I like that it charges anywhere from 30-60 min depending on the model. That's pretty quick so the range doesn't seem as bad. I think the appeal is that you can put it on almost any bike.
I was looking for an e-bike conversion kit for a while, most are sold overseas. I had placed my order for the clip based on your review and the fact that it’s located in Brooklyn NY. I actually live in Brooklyn and would like to support my local businesses. I’m looking forward to getting it and riding it, and will return to give my review of the Clip.
I didn’t even know this type of device was available on the market. Thank you for an outstanding review. I do, however, appreciate the excellent comments that showed some of the issues, like wet, tires, tire, type, and tire wear, that were not covered in the video. Thank you.
I got the go trax electric bike for 599. It has a colored display, front and back lights, disc brakes, great seat and 5 different pedal asst modes. Why would anyone pay 600 dollars for the clip. If it was 200 I could see the reasoning.
@@ZeJaie I understand wanting to buy a standard bike. I don't understand buying the clip. Just buy an electric bike that you can still use as a standard bike if you want.

The one for $499 has a smaller battery than ANY e-bike I've seen so you'd really have to compare your $599 Amazon e-bike with the $599 version of this clip which is still tiny. I have a couple different e-bikes and one of them was only $1200 and has a 1.5 kWh battery. MANY times the battery capacity of the clip, you get an entire bike with hydraulic disc brakes, headlight, brake light, horn, can't wear out the tire or slip, color display and it's only the cost of two of these things. I'm surprised they sell any of these.
No stated negative comments will justify the most important problem of all .... The friction wear on the tire can cause an unsafe and useless tire in less than a month with daily use . The comment about slippage when tires get wet is another correct comment. I tried 3 friction types and speedy excessive wear was the result especially in friction pressure adjustment knob types. Zap bikes recommended slick tires because it more readily concealed the noticeable wear than treaded or knobby tires and more contact with the road in wet weather. Don't spring for ANY type or brand of friction propulsion, stick to sprocket/chain or sprocket/belt drive types or with current tech and prices stick to a factory E bike.
They sell rear wheel conversions that turn regular bikes into e-bikes. They also have gas motor kits for bicycles. 😎👍 Google is, sometimes, your friend.

It isn't a good idea and I see them fail at least weekly in my shop. I do like conversions, but torque sensing mid-drives (enor.ous difference).
thanks. my son has a light boardman . would be nice to put it on when i want to use it for ebiking to work in the morning. love how simple it is. though i guess will be expensive down the line to replace battery which is a big con.
Wanna know what I would do with this...I would build a mount on the back of the bike, turn it around & stick it on the back wheel. That would be sick, especially if they made a more powerful one.
If people didn’t install or maintain it well, it would also fall off the back of the bike if it came loose rather than falling in front of a moving bike tire.
I have a small electric scooter that utilizes a friction drive that is forced against the rear wheel by the heel of one of your feet. It stops driving the tire when it gets wet, so you will probably find the same issue with this gadget. Maybe you could report on that.
Best I can determine, which took a bit of effort, the cost is about $400 - $600 depending on which one you purchase. For the wattage, speed, and range at that price it's not something I'd purchase. But, I can see where it could be useful to a limited demographic. If they can get the price down to about $199 and the speed increased and the range up to 50 miles or so it might become mainstream.
They had a similar one 40 years ago, but for 34 MPH and a lot of miles. I'll stick with the 26 inch front wheel electric. Plus I don't have to carry it around to keep it from being stolen like yours. Pretty good infomercial you made though.
I went to Ebike Essentials and purchased my 1000w Bafang kit and put it on my gravel bike. It was $1500 for everything including a battery. I've had it for 2 years with zero problems. My point is, spend the extra money and get something really really nice. These kits are just wonderful and almost too good to be true. Right now, they have the price way down on the kit you can probably get everything for $1200 right now. It is definitely worth every penny and more. My Bike can get up to 35 mph on flat land and if you utilize the gears you can really get it to work for you.
"Won't work with front suspension." That sentence killed it for most bikes right there. I guess it's geared toward Southern California Beach Cruisers. The application seems very niche. That's why they're so expensive. They'll sell twenty-five of them. Great review video though.
There is no such thing as a suspension fork designed for comfort. 100% are for off road control. If soft enough for road imperfections they would dive dangerously in stopping. Because it only being for non front suspension bikes makes it almost useless. Still lots of hardtails that could work for though. I have a Gary fisher and an ebike. Id like this for the gary fisher hardtail.
Intriguing, but it's definitely not for me. I'm interested to see how this holds up long-term though, I have a feeling it won't hold up well and would probably chew up your front tire pretty quickly.
I think that it might appealing to more people if it were a lot cheaper (you can buy a whole ebike for what this costs), and its a neat idea, but limited use
At about $500 USD it's in that "may as well purchase an actual Ebike" territory. They'd have to figure out how to get the price down to at least $350 and that's "pushing it."

Who wants to ride round looking like you’ve got a giant clothes peg stuck to your bike? 😂
Can i install in on the back
Where can i get this in the philippines?
These guys came in to my store and caused havoc because they didn't even know what kind of bike it would work on 😂
Its not world first there are plenty others.
Netherlands has then too. Another had a Kickstarter in UK also a long time ago.
$500 Bucks i paid 635 for the best EBike Shipoing included It goes 38mph and its Small and Folds. Specs say it gors 27mpr they lied and Im a Satisfied Customer 100% Best investment Ive made in a while! Ive charged it 3 times in 8months and only because i eas taking a long trip

Your very good at What you do! Love the review 👍 Im truly appreciate that everything I thought of you had the answer to it! Maybe you can invent a better DooHicky Ebike Thingy 😂 I got My Trex which i also Enjoy but this thing is way to exspensive for the Perks and it has dollorr tree button & a Locomotive Train blinking light 😳 Great Review! Id buy it if it wasnt for that $500 to much plastic I did like that it has Area on it to Personalize with Art or Graffics! 👍
Id pay 200 "MAYBE" with Shipping included I cant see The Longivity in it! It looks disposable! And Money isnt! Thanks 4 review 👍👍👍👍👍
Does anyone know where I can get a faster one??
Great idea but sticks out way to far forward, up and down the fork would look way better
It’s so many e-bikes out there I don’t know where to start I like this idea i just wish it didn’t look so nerdy lol
I remember meeting a female who was designing this on a bike trail. Granted it was probably 20 years ago, but I thought it was genuis
She had a prototype at the time. Quick attachment and quick install.
I had a Ridekick power trailer. With that i could carry groceries and it would push the bike.
couldn't you attach it to the rear wheel instead? So then it's not so front-heavy
And you definitely need to remove it when parked. Short distance, and low speed. Maybe for someone with a short commute with a couple hills.
BACK WHEEL POSSIBLE?
not back wheel compatible right now.
I’m going to buy a trike for this as I’m an aging adult with a sweet Specialized I’ll try it on first but I get tired so easily now feel the ability to stop and just sit on trike maybe better for me and reviews on the Electric trike are it’s crap comes busted up bad packing and the rear barring goes out
