I go through a few of the heavier clear containers every year . . Buy one drink the water and refill until it breaks , repeat . The clear plastic let's tge light pass through killing things that can grow in it .
Where I am , there is lots of water , filtering is a bigger problem than getting it

This is more or less water storage options that are available at Walmart than it is water procurement. It is better to have heavy-duty water storage containers than it is to have the cheaper disposable containers. I get that with using clear plastic containers allows light and UV rays through which can kill bacteria and viruses in the water through prolonged sunlight exposure. However, this is more or less potable water storage for clean drinking water. The dark blue walls of the containers help prevent the growth of bacteria and alge. I keep water filtration around, like a gravity-fed Alexapure Pro water filter and some LifeStraws, and Sawyer Mini water water filters around, as well as chlorine bleach and potassium iodine pills for treating water. It's better to have some potable waterstorage around than it is to be pocuring water in WROL/SHTF.

@@Deorse the boat holds 1200 gallons , the farm has a spring fed cistern, and my house has a spring fed mountain lake as a resivore about 400 feet higher than the Town. And a stream in the back yard . Filtering is tge issue
