    the water to air ratio is how much ?
    for example a 2 l fire extinguisher
    if you fill it with 1l water you leave 1l for compressed air ?
    so it,'s 1 to 1 ratio ?

    You missed step one: Check that the extinguisher pressure is spent. Sheesh.

    If I wanted to use this for home use or for in a car for emergencies is it required to put the foam in I know it helps put it out but will it not work without the foam?

      It will work without foam. The foam just reduces the surface tension of water allowing more penetration of the material that is burning.

      RRFR Training, can I use a little dish soap in mine since I don’t have any foam? Thanks.

      Do NOT carry a water extinguisher in a vehicle UNLESS you also have another extinguisher suitable for burning vehicles (petroleum, plastic etc). Water is for Class A fires.

    Is it possible to use the compressor recharging the Breathing Apparatus to pressurize the portable fire extinguisher? or it will have possible contamination.

      I do not know for sure. Most cascade systems only have fittings for SCBA bottles so it would not work without some engineering or specialty fittings. I would also be very worried about the extinguisher product backing up into the cascade line. I would highly discourage trying this, cascade systems are very expensive to buy and repair in comparison to air compressors.

      BA compressor - 300 bar
      Water fire extinguisher -7 bar.
      You'll explode the extinguisher and it will be extremely dangerous.

    Would it help if I use a little dish soap because I don’t have the foam or should I stick with straight water? Thanks.

      Dish soap will work. It is basically the same thing.

      @@wethepeople8542 lowers the surface tension of water makes it soak into material that is on fire better than without it

      We use Dawn with some of our water extinguishers. It’s not an animal based solution so it’s much less likely, if at all, to begin the molding process. About 3 squirts from the dawn container and you’re golden.

    Can you un screw all water fire extinguishers all do you have to get a special kind of extinguisher so you can un screw it

    • @Fredengle
      @Fredengle 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think what you are asking is most water extinguishers in The U.S are desgined to be refiiled by the user once used on a fire but you still should not fill a unit that is out of hydrostatic test date

    Does carbonated or flavored water work best?

    • @Fredengle
      @Fredengle ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont know what your asking your only supposed to used tap water in these the extinguihser is filled with compressed air but I guess one theory is if you wanted to be able to use it on electrical fires as an example if you were an electrician and were worried about electrical fires you could fill it with distilled water and it would not conduct!!!

      Why not just leave the water tube in it and fill it up. It would pop up at the exact amount of water you need...

    oooow you forget the MOST IMPORTANT step, FIRST check if it is depressurized. The stem should be inspected and cleaned each time. This is a dangerous video! Please read the Johnson Controls/Sentry manual!
