Another beautiful home. This one is very tastefully decorated and looks like it would feel very warm to live in. What a fabulous kitchen and the entrance to the cellar is so cool.

I think for the price they should have made the extra effort and dug down the basement so it's actually usable, they could have even made the area into a decent gym or guest suites. 🤔

Digging down the basement wouldn’t increase the square footage. It would just make it taller! Hence why it’s only being used for the laundry and 3 storage areas. I’m don’t think many people spend an extraordinarily large amount of time in those spaces anyway. So why spend the money when I know I won’t see VALUE actually added? That’s silly

    Not worth it.
Just build a new palace for that money with modern construction & finishes in West Sussex or similar near a railway 45mins into Victoria. I work a lot on buildings in London (and live there) and it’s just not worth the prices people are paying. It’s old housing stock including the utilities to it.

This house would have probably been worth more before they did the work, and ripped the soul out of it. Nothing of the old charm remains on the inside. This is not the usual development, it has been done by an architect who knows what he is doing, but the brief was too aggressive, I think. Nothing about this house says home. No wonder they are selling up.
I fear the price tag may make it linger, especially in this market.

Love period homes & interior design to match, but ALL too often, all that can be found are beautiful historical exteriors & developers design FULLY contemporary interiors which just don’t match the edifice of the building or even the original interior architecture/bones of the building….sorry, but just a major pet peeve of mine.😏
