    Amazing gym Leo! I really appreciate all the vids you put out! Thanks to watching your video, I pulled the trigger and went on a shopping spree at Rogue Fitness last year during black friday. It was a great investment. I enjoy working out at home more than at the gym. Thus results in me working out more often and seeing more result! Again, thanks and keep up the good work!

    Kickass gym. Do you let the neighbors use it? I just have a good power rack, bench and weights but it works for me. But now I wanna get some of those crossfit 55s.

    I think I'm digging this pared down, big on floorspace layout even more than your old setup Leo. Really dialed in the goals and the functions you require.
    It's a shame Rogue stopped using the 7ga on the monster line. The only real difference from the RML now is the 1inch hardware and accessories. I was really bummed over it. Was really hoping to be able to one day put together the scratch for a nice Rogue or Sorinex 3x3 7ga rack. Don't see it happening now since I don't believe either company offers that option any more. :(
    Beautiful rack you have there.

    Best garage gym ever! Seeking advice, coming off an injury. Please help. I'm just now coming off of bilateral ankle dislocations, and I've been on bed rest for exactly 3 months. I've been upgraded to full weight bearing physical therapy, and I'm making very good progress; however, I'll still be out of work for the next 30 days. So in short, it's gonna feel like I'm on vacation over the next month, so I want to take full advantage. I'm 41 years old, 5'5" and 156lbs. I've lost nearly all of my gains, and now I got this skinny fat thing going on. I was doing weight training 3 days a week with 1 session of kickboxing per week prior to my injury. I will have all the time in the world over the entire month of October before returning to work. I'm seeking a way that I can maximize my free time and gain the most significant amount of results over the next 30 days. I'm very limited on most cardio, particularly any kind of high intensity interval training due to my weak ankles. I'm confident I can still train legs and, I'm easily ready to start back with training my upper body. I'm looking for advice on the best training split possible with all the time in the world on my hands. (I'll listen to any nutritional advice as well if you have the time) Sorry for the long winded message. Looking forward to your advice. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. From your fan, Josh.

      Consider massage therapy and physical therapy if you have health insurance. For now, just get your body in recovery and keep it moving but train smart with a steady range of motion and keep it consitant, start with low impact cardio like a stationary or recumbent bike. Do static stretching at least five days a week in your routine in combination with steady state cardio but also take your nutrition seriously, high protein, low carbs with carb cycling and drink at least a gallon of water each day (really helps the healing process of the body.)

    quick question about the mats. are the mats just sitting on the floor or do you have a layer of plywood under them. If not are you in any fear of just the mats being enough buffer for the concrete. thanks

    • @rnleopando
      @rnleopando  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the mats are 3/4 inch thick and 100 lbs a piece. no wood under. plus I use bumpers and or rubber dumbbells I have full faith in em protecting my floor

  • @realtormouser
    @realtormouser 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Leo, Do you have any issues with gaps on the stall mat flooring? I've looked into it for my basement gym, but everyone says the mats are not cut straight, so you end up with small gaps that you need to clean out regularly. Have you noticed this? I believe the only solution is to purchase the interlocking mats, but they are 3x the price. Thanks!

    • @RedWolfDrift2000
      @RedWolfDrift2000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go to a hardware store and buy truss connector plates/gang nails. Put them underneath your stall mats where they meet together and hammer them down with a rubber mallot and then get black gorilla tape to cover the seems. Looks and functions way better after that

    I was modeling my garage gym from yours then H.O.A made me remove it because I have to be able to park 2 cars in it. Been able to change my layout and still have my rack. Rogue is like my amazon. I need to stop $$. broke and happy.

    • @rnleopando
      @rnleopando  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha yea but the thing about buying quality is that for the most part its a one time purchase and itll last a lifetime. a lot of things on amazon are what i call dtl. direct to land fill. tbh i haven't bought anything major in over a year, since my stuff will outlast my training career

  • @bpadams
    @bpadams 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man just guessing since you've moved your rack around, but doesn't seem like you have it bolted to the floor. I know that's what Rogue recommends, but I've got an RM-3 on the way and would certainly refrain from bolting it down if I don't have to. What has your experience been without having the rack bolted to the concrete floor?

    • @rnleopando
      @rnleopando  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can get a few layers of 4 x 8 foot plywood like 3 or 4 of them and bolt the rack directly into the plywood which would be 3 inches thick. my rack has six legs, has a deeper base and is weighed down by the plates so I couldn't tip it if I tried,

      Quite the opposite. This is one of the videos that inspired me to make my own home gym. If it was not for it, I would have probably bought tones of shit. This video gave me the right direction - what I need and what I don't.
