      That can change depending on your preferences , I'd say dip bars and gymnastic rings are necessary for me but most people don't care for those

      If you don't have the means of outfitting a complete home gym currently, no sweat. We've got a whole playlist of killer no-gym needed bodyweight workouts on the channel. And you don't have to get all of these things at once. You can buy a few pieces at a time and gradually build your gym as you see fit.

      They literally listed everything that you will find in a gym haha, why not say all you need is a bench, some bands and maybe 5-50 pound dumbbells. Cost affective and you can get a good workout.

      I started my home gym with resistance bands, sandbag and a yoga mat. I aint ever going back. Just need to make a uv sauna now.

      @@michaelrincon559 Exactly I have a rack of dumb bells, incline decline bench, flat bench, and stability ball. My next purchase will be a fan bike and some resistance bands it will be a while before I add a half power rack.

    My brothers and I split the cost of a rogue gym set up for our home and I couldn’t be happier. It’s expensive but totally worth the investment. Exceptional quality equipment.

    I could never train in a commercial gym again. Having a home gyms is the best way to go.

      Yep, I agree. I can do as many sets of something that I want to work on as I want without someone giving me the stink-eye. No one asking me how many sets I have left. No one offering freed "advice" on how to do an exercise better etc.... And I know who was on the bench before me as far as diseases go. It's always there. If I can't sleep, I can take a ride on my ECHO bike....THAT will get me tired. No driving home after a workout that I go all out in. Oh, and if I ever get tired of working out (doubtful) I can sell it and at least get something out of it. And my garage is always open.....Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day.....

    Wow, you guys' gym is insane!!! I furnished a home gym last year as my present to myself for finishing grad school. I went with a Sorinex Base Camp rack with an Elite FTS high/low cable set-up. Best decision ever!!!

      Definitely a great piece to add in. As long as your home gym isn't in an apartment... could lead to some poor relations with your lower floor neighbours hahaha

    Squat rack, bench, bar, iron plates (skip the bumpers). That's essential. Add a landmine and you can do almost anything. Add a simple pulley system from Home Depot if you want. After that you're just having fun. Which is great.

      For sure. You certainly don't need a full set of bumper plates, but for longevity of floors and weights themselves, at least a single pair to cushion landing of the bar would be a smart investment.

    IMHO a beginner only needs the following: mat to protect floor, bench, power blocks and some gymnastic rings for pullups and rows. Job done.

      That's a great setup to get started. A rack can be very beneficial though and add an extra level of safety, especially when training from home having the safeties for bigger lifts

    I would love to one day have a home gym, but currently I live in a London flat (apartment) with minimal space. Before the pandemic I had some old adjustable dumbbells that go up to about 10 kg (22 lbs) and then I bought a 20kg kettlebell from Amazon - and you know what... it isn’t much but you can get a decent workout from this. I do lots of super sets as well as lots of squeezing at the contraction - I feel like I am making some gains with minimal and relatively light equipment.

    My street workout backpack: gloves (thin cheapo breathable "mechanics gloves" with rubberized palm and fingers), straps, gymnastic rings with adjustable straps (wrapped with hockey grip tape), exercise bands (a few), about 1ft 1" round piece of wood (to use with exercise bands), frisbee, tennis ball (for bouncing off street and walls), skipping rope, adjustable straps (a few). Must have for me are only straps and a couple of exercise bands. I might put on my weight vest as well.

    For me the essentials are:
    Barbell + Plates
    Adjustable Dumbells
    Adjustable Bench
    Rack (with Pullup+Dip bars)
    Cable/Pulley system.
    Dont really need anything else.

      Exactly what I have now! I built it in 2 weeks. I bought everything used except the adjustable bench. Spent a little under 1500. I could’ve went cheaper but I wanted quality. I’m gonna add a dip rack with pull up. And also a squat half cage. Oh I also bought a preacher curl bench with bar.

      Leo H I bought some of my weights on FB, some from a sports store 10 miles from my home that I saw an ad on FB. Not the best price. $1.50/lbs for 2” Olympic weights and $1.00 for standard 1” weight plates. Overpriced I know but it’s LI/NYC area what can one expect? Also ppl are all price gouging at the moment which I’m sure you know. I also buy a lot of used equipment from the app Let Go. I scored my cable machine that takes both size plates for $300 delivered. New was $700-800 before shipping. The multi bench I bought before Corona, very good quality. I got it for $100? I see that it’s not $250 on Amazon!! Ridiculous!! I have NordicTrack adjustable dumbells. Not my favorite but they do the job. Same I got them for $300 before Covid now I see them for $600-1000. I recently bought 2 adjustable plastic kettlebells on eBay. Surprised with how good the quality is. I bought 2lbs-10lbs neoprene dumbells for my wife as she uses them to workout and also with her Peleton (bought last year). I had 2 barbells from years ago. The post landmine I got on Amazon recently. Paid $48 yes there are cheaper ones, no I’m not paying Rogue prices even tho it’s $25 more but there shipping is ridic! Mine takes both size bars 1”, and 2”. I have around 350lbs of weight plates now a mixed between standard and 2”. Which is plenty for me for awhile. I had an injury so I took some time off from training. All the cable attachments I bought online. That local sports store sells cable machine attachments for $5 a piece!! So I picked up a long lat SS bar for doing back and also picked up V lat attachment for $5 as well. Mats I got from tractor store. As they are horse stall mats. I have pics but I can’t attach, I’m actually surprised how little I’ve spent so far considering all the price gouging. But I do shop smart, and mostly used when I can. Weights all needed to be cleaned which I did. But I will repaint soon. That sports store sells a lot of good used items. All the weight plate I bought were 2” and they were all machined not cast iron. Although nothing wrong with cast but if same price I take milled ones. Sorry this is so long. I’m sure I’m forgetting some other equip. Also today my friend gifted me his old pull-up rack as I helped him pick up and deliver his used squat cage rack and he didn’t have the space to keep both. So that was free! I’m gonna add a Titan Fitness squat cage rack when they are in stock. I have a feeling there will be a lot of used equipment flooding the market as soon as things go back to normal. When that happens prices should drop and I will pick up more plates. Oh I forgot I picked up a pretty used up preacher curl bench. But no rips or holes in the seat or upholstery just scratches and some surface rust on the metal. Eventually I will get everything powder coated one color. I plan to buy the Titan Fitness preacher curl next to replace this one I bought for $80! My wife also wants a back extension bench so that I may buy new as well but we shall see.

      I bought a set of 5-25 dumbbells and lost 40 lbs. No excuses. Everything in this video but the squat rack/barbell is good enough for whatever room you sleep in. I just ordered some Onnit primal kettlebells and the Rogue Echo bike for my newest additions to my garage gym.

    My current set up is dumbbells , power rack with pull-up bar. Lat pull down with leg extension and preacher curl . I also have an extra bench press rack and an easy curl bar. Finally I have an Olympic weight set , and for the floor 4 pieces of plywood

    I live in India, where houses are much smaller than the average US house. But pairs of kettlebells. medicine ball, skipping rope and a pull up bar has helped me well in this lockdown

    A power tower (pull-up/chin-up, dip, sit-up, and push-up), a jump rope, and a heavy sandbag is all you really need if you want to get fit, and if you really don't even need this if you just rather do calisthenics. Boxers also get in excellent shape by shadowboxing, jumping rope, hitting a heavy bag, running, and using a medicine ball.

      Awesome stuff. Cables are definitely great to have and will add a lot more versatility and variety for your workouts, but not a necessity. The great thing about home gyms is you can customize them to your training needs and preferences.

      The gym is great and can be a super motivational place to go for the specific purpose of improving your health and body. However it's not always necessary. You can get an amazing workout in right in the comfort of your own home or garage

      Do cable machines last? I always see them out of order in gyms and I’m unsure if it’s a result of people messing it up or it being a piece of equipment that requires a ton of maintenance.

      Luis Chauca i bought a commercial one for around 1500$. It’s having 3y. of warranty for home usage. If you really take care of it the only thing that really can break after some time is the cables or pulley wheels other than that this thing is solid. The thing with cable machines in the gym is that they get probably used 100x more than in your home setting so the listed piece normally have half of the lifetime, that’s why they often under maintenance or out of order in gyms.

    Good video. For now I’ll skip the kettle bells and med balls. If fact I’ll go as far as to say “no dumbbells for my home gym. I’ll go with a functional trainer to go with my power rack. All the other knickknacks I’ll use at the gym every now and then

      Dumbbells are probably the most versatile pieces of home gym equipment, and definitely recommended. But to each their own. All about finding what works best for you and will allow you to stick with a consistent routine.

They've run out, and you might have to wait for them to restock, but they aren't taking advantage of the situation like other companies have been. I'll pay a bit more for Rogue, and I KNOW I'm getting top quality from a company that didn't take advantage of people. Oh, and I bought an ECHO bike a couple of years ago when they first came out. I love to hate that thing, and it's built like a tank.

    Great video. IMHO you can go even more essential by skipping the medicine ball and the assoult air bike. Instead I would've put a couple of parallettes for dips in the list, and for cardio, good old fashioned jog or sprints😉.

    Instead of adjustable dumbbells or a set of bells I got my self a pair of Olympic dumbbells bars. Then when I purchased weight plates I made sure I had a good few 5kg plates. Then I use them to make up my bells

    Big money, dream gym. Good luck finding that high dollar equipment anytime soon. I had to go to a scrap yard and luckily found enough rusty plates, a bar and a couple dumbbells to try to stay in shape during lockdown.

    There's always the possibility for a killer street workout ie. calisthenics. Many calisthenics dudes look insane! Plus walking and short "all out" sprints (HIIT) and all kinds of jumping. Parkour. Look at Frank Medrano and Simonster! Barstarzz.

    I'm just about to buy my own home gym. I've built a squat/ bench stand and a bench from wood, I hope it holds up. I'm gonna buy a 6ft olympic barbell, plates, 2 dumbell bars, rubber mats and an ab wheel. I can do pullups in my backyard. I feel like I'm only gonna miss leg press and incline/decline bench and maybe cables for triceps but I think I'll manage just fine.

      As we mention in the video brother, best to spend the money on a quality squat rack with strong J-Clips - When you're counting on it to hold hundreds of pounds above your back or chest, not something you want to risk skimping on. But definitely can get a ton of great workouts in with some free weights without the machines. Just have to be a bit more creative with exercise selection for variety while focusing most of your energy and effort on the fundamental movements.

      As long as it is built right and it's sturdy and solid, wood will work just fine. Remember, 4x4s and 2x4s are used to support houses. If you build it right it'll support your lifts.

      Awesome! If you have those options, alternate each time you perform the movement. Nice thing about cables, especially when you're in the gym, you can change the weight on the fly. Whereas with dumbbells, others may be using them too.

      Bands and foam rollers are great additional tools to have on hand, yes. However this was focused more towards the essentials for building muscle and burning fat in your home or garage gym. Mobility and recovery tools are a bit different.
      It could also be argued as to how essential these really are, because they've only really become popularized in the last decade or so, and many managed to still achieve great mobility, flexibility and recovery without these in the past.
      We tried to keep this video as minimal as possible, but band and foam rollers certainly wouldn't hurt to add in. Thanks for watching Rajput

      You can find all of these equipment pieces from online retailers, or as we mention, searching online marketplaces in your local area like craigslist, kijiji or facebook. Just depends on what you want and what's in your area.

      everything is still out of stock. Maybe by January things will be restocked. 2020 was a bad year for exercise equipment. If you buy used you will pay twice the price by people trying to rip you off.
