I wondered why movies lately don't have a lot of song nominations and read this: "The Academy has forbidden more than two submissions per film ever since “Enchanted” hogged the category with three best song nominations, in what’s come to be known as “the Alan Menken rule.”" Also apparently lots of movies avoid submitting more than one song for nomination to avoid splitting votes!
The "Golden Age" of Disney is actually an official thing and denotes the period between 1937 to 1942. The 90s are officially called "Disney Renaissance". (Don't worry I'm just nerdin' a bit....I agree the 90s were awesome 😂)

The best thing about Phil Collins is that he actually recorded "You'll be in my heart" in a few different languages so all of us could have thus wonderful voice of his as part of our childhood memories. I want the German version "Dir gehört mein Herz"(my heart belongs to you) a lot to my nephew and later my three nieces and my feral kitten that wasn't used to humans at all and I thought that hearing my voice would help her calm down just lile it did with my nephew when he was little. It worked and now she is 7 and the cuddliest cat of them all.
Not only did he record You'll Be in My Heart in different languages but I think he did it with all the songs he sang. In 5 languages. English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. That's talent
It's a shame Anika Noni Rose didn't perform "Almost There" for the Oscars in 2010, I saw her perform live in a Broadway show years ago and her voice was spectacular (as it was for Tiana).
I just love how they used to go all out with the productions of the classic Disney songs. Such great performances that really capture the essence of the films they were in and cement their legendary status in the Disney world.
They only perform Oscar nominated best original songs. And sadly, even "Reflection" was snubbed. "When You Believe" won that year, and other nominees are "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and "The Prayer".
Omg the Aladdin with Lea is amazing! And of course Elton John and Phil Collins LEGENDS. But everybody is admirable. They all deliver in a live performance, which is very hard.
I love Phil Collins and Lea Salonga. ☺️ I love their voice and their song. I specially cry whenever I hear "You'll Be In My Heart." How in the world have I not seen these? "You'll Be In My Heart", "A Whole New World", "Colors of the Wind", "I See The Light", and "When She Loved Me" were flawless and gave me chills! ❤
I neglected to mention...I never heard Paige sound so good as in here, very flawless. And Amy Adams I find a lot better here too, her voice had more character than in the movie.

Lol yes, the performances back then looked like Broadway performances, especially the Aladdin ones....
It's like watching the Tony hahahha
They had extra budgets back then. Lol!
Yes it's called having "EXTRA" budget!
No
Can we just appreciate that Beauty and the Beast had 3 songs nominated? That’s how perfect its music is.
The cartoon Lion King had the same thing
Aladdin had 2 nominations and Lion King had 3 nominations. Disney music, particularly in the 90s movies, is amazing
Enchanted had 3 songs nominated also. They didn’t include SO CLOSE performance with John McLaughing

The same in Brother Bear (I don't remember if it's him in that movie tho)
Nehuen del Cerro he is
The best voice for the film Tarzan is from the Brazilian singer Ed Motta. Be sure to listen to the Brazilian versions of Tarzan.
It's a shame Anika Noni Rose didn't perform "Almost There" for the Oscars in 2010, I saw her perform live in a Broadway show years ago and her voice was spectacular (as it was for Tiana).
