WIth Cade, it seems a quick decision is more important than a 'correct' one. And yes, he looked way more confident this week. Also, most of us Clemson fans know that the offense of the last 3 seasons couldn't have scored like that against air. It was truly remarkable.
Exactly. That was a master class in offensive performance and it's not just because they were playing App State. 2 years ago I think it was, Clemson scored 38 against Furman.
@@porschepal7932 I don't think they would have beat that Furman team by that much. That was a really good Furman team came close to going to the FCS Championship.
Don't worry about upsetting us Clemson fans with honest QB analysis. We've been eating our own (QB's) ever since TL16 left. +1 for the detail and personal experience 🏈
Dabo said that the Post against cover 2 was a checked into decision by Klubnick and one that left him and Riley saying “what is he he doing” until he ripped it for a TD and made it work. So you aren’t the only one who hasn’t seen that route on that coverage.
I think at that point they were a little concerned before the snap but they already had a big lead and Cade was on fire so I think they trusted him. If he made that check against Georgia, I think Dabo calls timeout in that situation. Against cover 2 you have to deliver that on time and on the money and sure enough Cade did that. If you throw it too early or too late and behind the receiver or where the receiver has to try and dive for it, I think either safety has an opportunity at it.
Idk how I just figured out I love these types of breakdowns!!!! This is awesome! I learned a lot in 16 minutes lol PLEASE DO THIS AGAIN AFTER THE NC STATE GAME!
Great work Aaron! Love the honesty as a Clemson fan. I know the next game will require progression which is the beauty of watching a young QB grow up. I know it won’t look this good against a better opponent so as a fan just hoping he keeps improving.
Thank you for breaking that down, Aaron. There was so much criticism last week, and no one has analyzed this performance in week two that was so critical of him in week one except for you. Well done! And I appreciate the honest, constructive criticism of what you saw. You know a lot more about this game than I do! I hope he continues to improve Week over week!
You are always dogging because you are a Georgia bulldog, no worries, your analysis is spot on. He has been consistently a little late which is a much bigger detriment against good defenses. This should boost his confidence in getting it out just a tad quicker. Thank you for the great work.
Aaron, Clemson fan here. Great and honest breakdown. Thanks for the lesson. What are your thoughts on the offense overall? I've felt like the offense has been super conservative since Trevor left like of OC's have been scared to test the QB by throwing deep and on the run. In the App State game I feel like we reverted to our usual prolific playcalling. Will this performance just give us false hope or do you think we actually turned the corner. I'm guessing with the 11-1 prediction you have faith in the improvement.
I’m a football fan and that’s about as far as it goes so it’s nice to see this broken down. I think Cade is far from perfect but man it was nice to see this out of Clemson for once Also helps on video games 😂
As a Clemson fan this is what worries me when they play big time games vs teams like OSU, Bama, UGA, Texas, Oregon, PSU Tennessee ect. The speed of those secondaries makes it difficult to complete throws if the QB is late. That's what Clemson HAS to work on with Cade. Anticipation and getting the ball out faster.
Great breakdwon Aaron. Do you see these little critiques of reads and release time being corrected for the most part this season? I think Cade will obviously be back next season and should have massively improved on all of these things, but before i watched this i did notice some of those same critiques you had made with risky throws and release time
This is great. With College FB25 coming out this summer, more and more people are interested in the X's and O's of ball! Do you think the WR different rotation helped out with a lot of this? I want to continue to see more of 12 and 1 rather than 8 and 22... 0 also had a good game. 10 could have, he's got to get open more though...
Im a Georgia Tech fan and this is the first year in a while I’ve had real hope but Kyle McCord came in and wrecked our secondary I was wondering if you could break down that game cause I’m curious to know if our secondary had a bad game or if it’s just Kyle McCord
I just really hope with iPads now that Riley & Tajh are cleaning this up immediately following the series on the field. Glad he touched on the Brinney TD1 - I thought that as soon as he threw it, that should have been an INT. Stellatto was wide open down the hash. But lots of great reads and throws too.
What kind of app/software are you using for the film reviews to be able to pause and draw? Would love to use it breaking down Sam Houston game film. Also great content, deserves a sub!
What I'm learning is Clemson is not coaching footwork the way they should. Lot of false steps and late throws bc the QB is inconsistent with his drop back. Also seems to me that they coach to look to the trips side first where as you you were coached to throw away from where defenses rotate their strengths. I think I prefer throwing and looking to the trips side but I never thought about it the way you were explaining it, makes sense. Thank you for these. Becoming a weekly thing and really enjoying these videos!
You are the first person I’ve seen that has noticed what I’ve noticed over the last year or so now with Cade. His footwork has been off. This is the first game I’ve seen where Cade’s feet are planted on platform at release. You can see the difference in his ball in this game. I have not seen his ball look this good since he’s been at Clemson. His reads are still a bit slow, but his footwork looked the best I’ve seen since Westlake. I suspect someone sat him down after the Georgia game and really worked with him on his footwork. It’s made a huge difference in his ball. If the reads get faster with some confidence, Clemson will finally get what we all saw at Westlake.
@gregthomas3080 I think he probably realized his OL can block for him after rewatching the UGA game they kept him fairly clean. Even in a massive loss that positive can build confidence. Didn't see him looking at the rush(last year that was a huge issue) he put faith into his ol and kept his eyes upfield most plays. When he is late, alot of times I think he's looking at what's coming before getting his eyes downfield and getting his feet and lower body planted to drive the ball. So between footwork and trusting his OL I think He's going to continue to show growth, not 7 TDs in a half every game but he can win games as a passer.
Congrats on being one of the few to not completely write Cade off after week 1. He was arguably one of the worst QBs in the country last year but has looked far better, even against Georgia, but Clemson fans largely couldn't see it. Another solid video - it's usually not as bad or as good as it seems at first.
Great analysis. It was against zone coverage. think against better man comp, likely has 1-2 picks. It’s good he’s finally ripping it but he definitely needs to be quicker. He still waits for the player to be wide open. Throw your player open. Different mindset and hes still not there yet.
Georgia is a great team and probably should be #1 right now (you could argue Texas should be #1) but it was more so Clemson hurting themselves. They lined up wrong after they had some momentum going in the first half against Georgia which killed a drive, Cade held onto the ball too long instead of taking open throws across the middle, and I think the nerves of playing Georgia got to them at times. Georgia is no doubt a fantastic team but if Clemson and Georgia do play again in the playoffs, I expect a different result if they can settle down and just play instead of worrying about who they're playing. Not saying they'd beat Georgia but it would be a lot closer of a game.
I like this video. Most of us Clemson fans need to remember who Klubnik is, the guy that cant do anything against good teams. Against a better team, two of his touchdown passes probably shouldve been intercepted or at least broken up. Too many fans are using this game to justify Dabo's coaching style and starting Klubnik at QB.
Clemson fan here. Love all these break downs.
Thanks!
