I 100% agree. Cade is confident in the pocket now and the running backs have more gaps that they can run the ball. I think the offensive line has been the biggest improvement honestly.
This may be the key. This is a page from the playbook of Danny Ford (and Bear Bryant). Ford had elite OLs and DLs. Even mediocre backs could shine given the protection provided by those OLs. And the defenses usually gave Clemson large advantages in TOP, which paid off in the 4th Q. Ford's teams would grind opponents down.
I came here to say this! I think 80% of the credit goes to Matt luke and the line. I sat next to Tristan Leighs mom on the way home last weekend and she said that the offensive linemen think Matt luke walks on water, hands-down the best line coach they’ve ever had. The time and confidence they are giving Cade and the receivers is allowing Reilly‘s coaching to shine as well.
@@nickjaymi It's also the consistent blocking. When you block for long enough consistently, your QB really starts to trust the blocking which let's him go through his progressions and not have happy feet in the pocket.
We generally have the stadium at a 8 or 9 out of 10 on the noise scale for noon or early afternoon games. At Night? Its 12/10 on the noise scale. We CRANK IT UP and make noise from start to finish. No one can speak on Sunday after a night game.
Yep I’ve been to dozens and dozens and dozens of games and my best memories are the 2015 Notre Dame “Hurricane” game with the goal line stand, and the Louisville 2016? game that ended because the Louisville runner went out of bounds a yard short of a first down. In the SAME corner where the ND play happened a year previous. Both big night games, I believe. It was magical. Also I went to NCST and Clemson in 2022 and that was the last BIG night game I’ve been to and it was wild. All games in Death Valley are amazing but night games there’s just something different about them. People having the previous 10 hours to drink and eat and be merry, by the time kickoff rolls around it just hits different compared to the noon or 3:30 kickoffs. Even if getting out of the parking lot is a pain in the ass at 2AM, night games will forever be superior. There’s nothing like a Night Game in the Valley. Nothing.

They’ve gotten much better up front the play calling is massively better klubnik isn’t making mistakes and they have an elite defense. That’s a recipe for success.
Matt Luke has made a huge difference for our offense. He was at Georgia and elevated them when they were dominating teams with a walk-on quarterback. Matt Luke may not have been a great head coach for Ole Miss but he can be a difference maker for an offense. I expected Matt Luke to come in and our offensive line be inproved and I'm a huge optimist but even I didn't see this kind of improvement coming this early.

Also, the receivers are making better plays, and they are blocking down field. Again, let's give coach Matt Luke a lot of credit here.
There’s no reason why they aren’t already that team. I think by the end of the season when we get more data people will be surprised to find that the performance Clemson put up against Georgia in Week 1 was a fluke and not representative of their actual overall team.

This current Clemson team is objectively NOT the same team that they were almost a month ago in that week 1 game with a lot of new pieces to figure out. Putting aside the fact that the roster has been jumbled and players have been moved around far more than the regular amount, this just simply isn’t the same team. I also think people forget that the first half of that game was 100% a jump ball, 50/50 battle until Clemson’s defense couldn’t get off the field because the offense just wasn’t moving the ball and then the defense fell apart because the offense let them down big. If they replay that game tomorrow I think we get an entirely different result. We will see later in the season, if there is some sort of rematch.
