As a Clemson fan, you really gave me a new insight into all of this. I remember you were a UGA QB. I really appreciate you putting this out man. Hope Cade sees it! Are you coaching? You SHOULD be. New sub
Started listening to Aaron on podcasts years ago. He is a very good analyst. And while I don’t recall the episode of punt and pass podcast, he and Drew Butler go into detail on why they wouldn’t be interested in coaching. It’s a pretty good conversation.
Coaching is a huge thing, I don’t know much about schemes and stuff like that but we have two freshman WR that people are very excited about, and they didn’t play until the 4th….. just frustrating as someone who drove four hours and sat in Atlanta traffic for the game.
Good stuff! Really enjoyed the video. All-22 footage is hard for us lay people to find so love to see it broken down like this. Definitely agree that when watching film it isn't as bad or as good as it seemed during the game. Cade has some positives to take away from this but also some thinks to fix. As a Clemson fan, the inconsistency is whats frustrating. That deep corner throw was beautiful but he also had some head scratchers. Just a quick note, that smash concept you highlighted a few times, like at 16:30, is known as Y or H corner in the Air Raid/Riley offense. Staple Air Raid play. Outside receiver runs a slant/sit down, slot runs a corner, back or TE runs a flat control. Agreed the corner route was on.
I actually despise the zoomed in view we often get on the major channels that really gained popularity about a decade ago. I want to see the whole field and formations as a fan, as it helps cue me for what the plays will be. If I could watch every game live with a full view of the field and mute the color commentator, I would.
Loved this! Exactly the technical depth I think we need on here to help grow all of our QB IQ. Makes Saturdays even better knowing what to watch during the game.
I think it would be helpful to add in the down in distance on the breakdown. A lot of my issues with Cade stem from lack of awareness i.e. last year sliding on a fourth down, check downs into coverage on third and long, fourth and inches against FSU and throwing a screen behind LOS. Great breakdown overall
Fantastic breakdown. It really seems like they needed more offseason work to really start to mesh. Not understanding each other's tendencies and they are younger at receiver.
I’m a Clemson fan, and I appreciated this breakdown. I think that Cade has improved over last year, and I agree with you that Georgia will be the best defense that we see all year. Hopefully, the offense can get on track this week.
Your work is much appreciated with all the b******* floating around about sports and all these people on ESPN trying to get a hot take and making narratives and trying to control Sports this is a person that actually played and knows what he's talking about keep up the good work.
2019 frustrated me too. the scheme was poor that year - it was 3 plays and td or 3 plays and out based purely on our massive talent edge on the majority of our offensive drives. 2012-2018 had sustained, consistent yardage gains even in the years our top talent wasnt quite as good. Frankly, our offense scheme got lazy after the 2018 title (scott leaving had something to do with that too, Im sure) and all the problems came home to roost once the talent gulf with our competition wasnt so massive.
Nice unbiased breakdown. I know it's easier said than done but if cade could just chill out in the pocket and coaches stop playing favorites and play our best talent at wr I think we'd be alright. Go Tigers!🐅
I am really enjoying these QB breakdowns. Aaron really does a great job breaking them down. hey, @Aaron ever thought about being Georgia's QB Coach? You would be an amazing fit.
How do you feel about the lack of pre-snap movement? Seems to me the offense is solely built on winning one on one’s o catching the defense slacking. No scheming guys open
There is pre-snap movement. It didn't get highlighted but Williams went into motion either as part of the bunch concept (such as on the dig/deep over or on the fade throw in the red zone) are as part of the run game. Also, motion isn't the only way to scheme guys open. You can do it via route combinations
@@spenceryork3466 6 or so plays with any movement. Only 4 plays with motion across the backfield… but no threat of a jet sweep or pop pass so the motion is irrelevant. Linebackers aren’t worried at all
Excellent breakdown Aaron. Loved watching you work at Georgia back in the day. By the way, my 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter are in a constant state of war. 😂
3rd to last play at 21:32 you reviewed shows inside WR was wide open on a post, but happy feet from feeling little bit of pressure in his face caused him to bail early. wow! If this kid learns from this game, they could've 35 on the board...
17-20 points left on the field for sure. Honestly given the defenses they will face, and the fact that the O-line looked a bit improved against that defensive front of UGA I would assume Clemson scores 30+ in the majority of their games this year without issue.
Yeah, in his 3rd year with 3 Springs under his belt, I can't accept the notion that "Cade wasn't that bad" all the time.I'd accept that with a 3 star 2nd or 3rd string guy maybe in his 3rd year.
@@MarkEast-f9q I havent watched the video yet. But I can say from watching the game that he has cleaned up many of his worst mistakes, and is largely more consistent becaues of it. Sadly, he doesnt have good field vision and doesnt see or throw to open receivers that arent the designated target on the play too often, stares down the primary receiver often, and has poor footwork when on the move (which is not easy, but top qbs do it decent enough frequently). He still has trouble feeling pressure, and usually bails too early or too late, and in this past game his deep balls were underthrown almost universally. All in all, he is better, with a higher floor, but I dont think he has improved seeing the entire field - one of the most important aspects of qb play. almost nothing infuriates a fan base more than seeing receivers running open and the qb not even looking, much less giving them a throw.
Remember going out to Knowshon’s send off @Arch your first semester? We spoke of nudes, boots, and waggles. You didn’t even try to go in. I was impressed by your maturity and humility. I saw the leader in you, and assured the boys we’d officially moved on from JT3, and JC14. Subscribed. I’ll sit down and learn something from you.
Agree. "Not that bad" would be acceptable for a 2nd or 3rd string 3 star back up. For arguably the top rated "dual" threat QB coming out of high school in his 3rd season at Clemson with 3 full Springs under his belt.... "Not that bad" is still unacceptable.
Cade is much improved from last year, in terms of making less mistakes. Still, he is missing a lot of open players and his footwork remains pretty inconsistent. His deep ball was particularly bad vs georgia - his receivers constantly had to run back to him for them.
Funny how everybody broke down Cade last week, but none this week in a performance that has not been done in 25 years by a QB. 5 passing TDs 2 rushing TDs, and over 90% completion rate. No one breaking that down? Literally the best game by a QB in 25 years, and he did that in ONE half of football, but no one wants to talk about it. Hmmm...
Good breakdown. My only comment is that he shouldn't be making these mistakes after three years. Implies to me that he cannot learn or doesn't have the proper coaching. Receivers getting separation hasn't changed since Grisham was put in that coaching position. Too much talent for the receivers not to have separation to help Klubnik out.
Honestly I think if our offensive line can consistently block well with Matt Luke being the OL coach, I think Cade will start to trust the pocket more and hopefully settle his feet a little more.
cade is cade, evrybody including dabo waiting for him to somehow change, hes ass, DJ is ass, it is what it is, stuck with an ass QB bc dabo doesnt do transfers

Great analysis. Pretty painful to watch all the missed opportunities.
Lot of yards left out there
So do you think Cade big issue is just underthrowing the ball?
That’s the biggest issue
Do you think that's timing, mechanical, or arm strength? @SnapsCFB_
That’s one issue. Another is his happy feet and constantly trying to escape the pocket or not being calm enough in it

He under throws receivers about as much as I've seen any highly rated QB coming out of high school.

The problem is Riley and the scheme. Bubbles screens on 3rd and long is just idiotic. Also, Clemson has ZERO receivers who can break open.
