When grabbing the tip up don't grab the line to feel if it's there. That little pressure will cause the fish to drop or spit the hook.

Meh, I’ve always checked with my hands first... Been using these tip ups since they were prototypes. They’re not dropping it. The hook is pulling out of the minnow on hook set because it’s half in the walleyes mouth. You can feel it when it happens👌🏻 #rubberbandeffect
