You do a great job and when you are a perfectionist, it only serves you better when applying latex bands to dog hair! :-) Shes beautiful and I am shocked that anyone would say the rude things to you that they do. She puts a sedative in her water! She doesnt mention it but if you watch all ehr vidoes this crazy lady puts sedative drops in her drinking water! This lady is beyond crazy! Thats animal abuse! Shes puttint the dog in this sedative state jsut so she can have her way with the hair to satisfy her own motherly needs cuz she was infertile for years and couldnt conceive ntil last year.

Giving her treats after being groomed does the trick! My shih tzu stays very still while being groomed, and this is because I give her snacks after, if she stays calm
I love how dedicated you are to Winnie, I have a 6 month Shih Tzu and keep her short haired because I can barely find the time to do all the daily grooming, but props to you for making time for Winnie and specially for all your hard work :)

Absolutely ADORABLE! Have had Tzu for 30 years but never with a full coat. Just got my last puppy and thought about trying to maintain her coat long. So appreciate the info! My Daisy will look precious if I can convince her to sit still long enough!

that's exactly how my little girl does lol. in fact when I'm brushing her sides, I actually have to "flip" her over to her other side she gets so relaxed lol!

Help!!!!!! My little boy Sully will not have the one ponytail! He's 8 months old and is still very wiggly during his grooming sessions. When did Winnie start sitting so nice and still? I have 7 shih tzu. 5 girls and 2 boys. i enjoy grooming time with them. two of the girls love it, the rest hate it. i feel its a great bonding time for us. one on one. I love them with their cute pigtails (which only last 5 minute if lucky lol).

Hi I understand where your coming from lilly was that way at that age as well. I just kept it up and now after two year s of the same routine she will lay lime winnie does just get into a routine and they catch on pretty fast. Also try having a special treat she gets after each grooming and that's the only time they get that specific treat. Best of luck
my shih tzu puppy is only 4 months old and she lays still like winnie when I put he neck pillow on her if you start grooming as soon as you get them they learn quick,I groom my puppy everyday,at first she was wiggley but in no time she sellelled down
I constantly try to explain to my groomers that I DO NOT want my Sadie's topknot in super tight. They just DO NOT listen!! It drives me crazy! I also wish they would go to non-latex bands, like we use. I hate hair breakage!
Hi, Winne is sweet I have the same females shi tzu, my very hair falling while all kind of see it as a comb not a single hair on the comb .. so I do not know why you have any advice to my declining because it is not in terms of shedding my hair all year declines
I'm lucky if I get Katie's hair blown dry and brushed. To do something as intricate as this I'd have to drug her, 'cuz she isn't going to lay still for this!! :) So I just settle for a quick bow on each ear and call it good.
How are you supposed to do that to a puppy who just wont sit still?? Shes a litttle monster when it comes to grooming and attacks the brush and scissors I tried put a bow in her hair ro help to keep the fur of her eyes bur she just wants to play and wont stay still I tried distracting her with treats but thay didnt do anyrhing

I think it's partly the breed; my shih tzu is also super calm and laid-back. The vet saw her lying on the table once, stretched out on her back, and said, "Good grief, she looks toxic!" but she was just chilling, lol

I don't use a grooming pillow. Sadie just lays down and I do her hair. it isn't absolutely necessary to have a grooming pillow.

No. I have a shih Tzu and he doesn't stay still if my life depends on it. My sister also has a shih who does not stay still when she is grooming her.
