Just love your tips. I am definitely one who forgets to engage my core, thus creating low back pain. I will try to follow your advice, and hopefully won’t continue to injure my back. Thanks
I’m 67 and no longer have discs between L4/L5 and L5/S1. My back was toast before you were born. I wish someone posted this video 40 years ago. For those who still have time, thanks for the video.
Wow...sorry to hear. That is tough engaging the butt with those discs missing. When I was learning the game, I used my lower back and destroyed my lower disks as well. Thanks for sharing.
Great tip. I think squat on my down swing. It seems to engage my lower body more(i.e. from non existent to some). Anything to get my legs and butt more involved is almost always a positive
Very good video. Yes, I do the 'door hinge' with the club as part of my daily exercise - both the club stretched out in front and also across the hips, then use the club stretched toward my toes relaxing down from the shoulders. Yes, I focus on an even turn (butt cheeks stay at the same level) in my back swing, so it more turn/coil, no lifting the hip in the backswing, so I can just turn toward the target (after initiating the weight shift and start of bringing the arms down). Long way to go -- never ending improvement. Thank You!
You always offer good advice, thanks for that. This old man’s butt disappeared about ten years ago never to return. The the trades rewarded me with a sciatic nerve condition that thankfully is stable but my golf swing can remind me of it every so often. I’ll try more butt, less hip. With family in the Northeast Kingdom I think it’s cute that the C.C. captions on TH-cam translate your “Pars” into “Paws”.

Love it. That is SMART practice.
What course is that? Looks amazing!
Sedona Golf Resort. Yes! it is amazing!
@ are you having any camps there?
not this coming year. I have you signed up for the BIG Camp. Are you coming?
@ I’m not sure yet. I would rather come in spring.

Is your stance really as wide as it looks?
Yes. A wide stance helps me rotate deeper into my glutes which in turn drives that power into the ground. the ground is where the power is!
