The main drawback is that you likely won't be able to generate as much power. Virtually everyone who plays golf on tour shifts pressure to their back foot during the swing, which probably means there's something to it. However, we can envision a variety of scenarios where staying on that lead side throughout the whole swing makes sense (golfers with physical limitations, newer golfers, etc.). Hope this helps!
