    • @SofieAndStephen
      @SofieAndStephen  หลายเดือนก่อน

      When we went in November the crowds could get intense depending on the area/attraction in Kyoto we were in and also the time of day. There were definitely some times (which you may have seen in the video) when crowds got pretty crazy. If you're going to Japan soon, I assume you'll be going in May or later. I think since you won't be visiting during the busy seasons (spring & fall), the crowds might not be as busy, but you never know. However, usually going to the main attractions earlier in the morning will ensure a less busy crowd. Hope you have fun in Kyoto!

    How did you get from hakone to Kioto?
    Is it possible to go directly or you have to go back to Tokio?

    • @SofieAndStephen
      @SofieAndStephen  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From Hakone to Kyoto we took the bullet train. In fact, the bullet train was how we traveled between all the major cities in Japan.
      There’s no bullet train station in Hakone. So you have to take a local train from Hakone to Odawara station. Then from Odawara you can take the bullet train west to Kyoto or east to Tokyo.

    I really like seeing what can be done in one day. I would like to follow your steps so my questions would be, for example, you went to the Monkey Park and then to Nijo Castle . How did you get to Monkey Park and afterwards how did you get to the castle, did you walk, take a bus, taxi, subway??? Thanks in advance

    • @SofieAndStephen
      @SofieAndStephen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In Kyoto the train system isn't as vast or complete as other big cities like Tokyo or Osaka because of how old Kyoto is. So in Kyoto we took some trains but for the most part we'd have to take buses. In our 3 weeks in Japan, we took the most number of buses while we were in Kyoto. If you don't mind spending some money or just want a more convenient time, you could use taxi/Uber. But we mostly took buses and walked a lot in Kyoto.

      @@SofieAndStephen thanks, I really enjoy your videos, and will be using them in my decision making for Japan. Since I am taking a short trip, I am stressing on how much I can fit in. If you ever tour San Francisco, look me up.

      @@lchew2001 How many days do you have in Kyoto? I'd recommend just hitting the main spots that we went to: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkakuji Temple, Nijo Castle, Arashiyama area, Kiyomizu-dera, Gion District, Yasaka Shrine. Kyoto really isn't that big so I think even if you had 2 or 3 days you could easily hit all the main spots.

      @@carloscanizares4699 We are from Florida so quite the opposite type of weather from Vancouver! So we are not used to cold weather as it is pretty much warm all year long in Florida.
      While in Japan, in November during the day it was either perfect weather for just a t-shirt or sometimes just a light jacket. I remember some days in Tokyo towards the beginning of the trip when we were sweating during the middle of the day. At night though the temperature would always drop. It never really got colder than like 6C or 7C while we were there. With the windchill maybe it got down to 5C but that might be a stretch.
