Hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
My first video of yours I’ve seen. I love you guys and the video. The pace of the video is excellent, so easy to follow along and again you both are so likable. Looks like I’ll be binge watching you the rest of the day. 😂I hope to visit Japan in the next year.
Omg thanks for all the kind words! We really appreciate the feedback! Glad you enjoy our videos. Thanks for watching!
Love the Japan content, it's helping me to plan my own trip with my girlfriend soon!
Awesome! Glad we could help you out! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the Hiroshima video guys! Great content and hope to see more!
Thanks for watching! More to come soon!
Hi there!! Love your videos! Quick question: how far in advance were you able to book Hotel Sunroute?
Hello! Thanks for watching! We booked all of our hotels only 2 months ahead of our stay dates. However, I'd definitely recommend booking your accommodations as soon as you can. We were pretty late with booking accommodations :)
U need to go to casablanca & see cfc city its a modern new city & also the mosque 😊
We didn't have enough time but next time we go to Morocco we will have to go to Casablanca to see the city and the mosque!
Have enjoyed your videos - Well done ! I have watched A LOT of Japan video's while planning a trip and yours are great compared to others.
Wow! Thanks for the amazing feedback! We appreciate your kind words!
Did you pay mostly with yen or did you use card?
We seemed to use our card most of the time actually. If we used yen, it was mostly at food street vendors. But inside restaurants and shops we used credit card. But I'd recommend getting a credit card that doesn't have foreign transaction fees.
@@SofieAndStephen Thank you. And what about debit cards? Like visa?
The only time we used a debit card was to pull money from an ATM at 7/11. Other than that, we either used cash or a credit card. Watch out for foreign transaction fees on debit cards.
@@SofieAndStephen awesome. Thank you so much!
@@raelynwingo7234 Thanks for watching!
Thinking about booking in June! Is the in room private onsen bathtub also filled with volcanic water and minerals?
Unfortunately, the in-room private onsen bathtub is just a bathtub. It doesn't have any of the minerals from an actual spring or anything. However, we still found the outdoor bath to be a nice add-on and quite relaxing.
I love these vlogs please post soon 🥲
We've been slacking on posting but another will be posted soon. Stay tuned!
Very helpful video. Great Job!
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
As a chicago local I can say you’ve hit all the right spots. Well done!
Thanks for the awesome feedback! Hope to come back to Chicago soon!

Love your videos ! Where did you go for the spa and was it worth the price ?
The spa is called LSPA. We thought it was very well worth it. They did a very good job and the prices were fair. Thanks for watching!
Morocco is the best
Yes! Can't wait to go back soon!
In Japan, eating while walking is only allowed in limited tourist areas. It is against etiquette to eat or drink in other areas. As a Japanese person, I found it extremely unpleasant to see people sitting on the street eating takoyaki. Many Japanese people are very annoyed by the selfish behavior of foreign tourists.
Yes, we always abided by the rules of no eating or drinking while walking. We always stayed near the restaurant or store we purchased the food from. In the case of the takoyaki, we were eating on the street right in front of the restaurant since it was the only available space to actually eat without standing in the way of people waiting in line to purchase the takoyaki.
Love this !
Thanks for watching!
@@SofieAndStephen may I ask if you purchased a suica/pasmo card?
@@andyye1515 Yes, we purchased a Suica card the second we landed in Haneda airport. However, we used a digital Suica card by loading a Suica card on Apple Wallet. Would highly recommend going this route if you have an iPhone.
@@SofieAndStephen Hey! So do we first but the card on the airport and then add it to the wallet. Or can I buy the card online?
@@andyye1515 If you have Apple Wallet you could technically buy it before you even get to Japan. Try it out now. Go onto Apple Wallet and add a Transit Card. You'll see Suica and can add that to your list of cards. Then you can load up the card with your credit card whenever you need to.
Those people sitting next to you in such a small restaurant were probably so uncomfortable. Maybe you can blur people's faces when you are in such a close setting. A lot of responsible TH-camrs are starting to do that. I wouldn't want to be in a TH-cam vlog. Plus, I thought filming people indoors was illegal in Japan.
We're not sure if filming indoors is illegal or not -- nobody tried to stop us. But we understand your other concerns. In the future, we'll be more mindful about having people's faces in our videos. Thanks for your comment.
Hello! May I know how was the crowds when you went? I'll go to Kyoto soon and I really don't want to be skin to skin with people haha.
When we went in November the crowds could get intense depending on the area/attraction in Kyoto we were in and also the time of day. There were definitely some times (which you may have seen in the video) when crowds got pretty crazy. If you're going to Japan soon, I assume you'll be going in May or later. I think since you won't be visiting during the busy seasons (spring & fall), the crowds might not be as busy, but you never know. However, usually going to the main attractions earlier in the morning will ensure a less busy crowd. Hope you have fun in Kyoto!
Great video...Sofie reminded me a lot of the Hollywood star Kiera Knightley. So pretty 😍
Thanks! She gets that a lot actually. People say she looks like Keira Knightly or Natalie Portman. I personally think she looks more like Natalie Portman lol
I was surprised there was no game in Kura Sushi when you inserted the plates. I thought this was in all their branches. It's the best part of the restaurant for me XD
I think there was a game thing with the plates that you could opt into but we weren't really aware of it lol
Thank you for enjoying Japan. All of the videos were so wonderful that I watched them all in one go. Please come again! From Japan🇯🇵
Thank you for watching our videos! We have more to come. Stay tuned!

Hi! I’m a (hopeful) future Japan traveler. My question is: did you guys invested in the JR Pass and do you feel it was worth it? Thank you!!
We invested in the JR Pass because of all of the different cities we visited. Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, and then back to Tokyo. We also purchased the JR Pass before they increased the prices by 60%+ back in November. So in our case, it was worth it for us to get the pass instead of purchasing individual tickets. We would recommend Googling "JR Pass Calculator" and go to any site that will allow you to input your itinerary. These calculators will let you know if it's worth it for you to purchase the JR Pass given your itinerary. Hope this helps :)
Thank you so much! For moving within the cities, did you just use IC? I’m trying to find the most economical and practical way to see as much as possible.
@@elizanjelaparreiramorris3507 Yes, while in the cities use your IC card. In our entire time in Japan we used mostly trains, a few buses (mostly in Kyoto), and took 2 taxis for convenience. For us, we started our trip in Tokyo so we used a Suica card. If you have an iPhone, use Apple Wallet to load up a digital Suica card and you don't even have to open up your phone when swiping at train gates. You literally just have to tap your locked phone and it will deduct funds from your Suica card. You can also use any other IC card though.
Thank you so much for your help! Love your videos!
@@elizanjelaparreiramorris3507 Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for more :)

OOH NOOOO I just came back from my trip and I had a bad fortune too... didn't even see the rack to the side to put it on...
Oh no! Hopefully you didn't bring the bad fortune slip back with you!
why are the streets of Chicago so emply. Not at all like NYC
Not sure. We didn't think about that while we were there but you're totally right, it was fairly quiet when we were walking around. Not nearly as crowded compared to NYC. Maybe it was the areas we were walking in.
In our second time around in Japan (soon to be posted) we went to an omakase sushi restaurant and enjoyed some very nice sushi there :)

im going to do about the same trip except were not going to hokone, we're going to hike around the kii peninsula. Do you have an actual itinerary of this trip written?
Below is a rough outline of the main attractions and places we went to while in Tokyo. Hope it helps! However if you're asking about the cities we went to, we went to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima, and back to Tokyo in about 20 days or so. Thanks so much for your feedback and thanks for watching!
I really like seeing what can be done in one day. I would like to follow your steps so my questions would be, for example, you went to the Monkey Park and then to Nijo Castle . How did you get to Monkey Park and afterwards how did you get to the castle, did you walk, take a bus, taxi, subway??? Thanks in advance
In Kyoto the train system isn't as vast or complete as other big cities like Tokyo or Osaka because of how old Kyoto is. So in Kyoto we took some trains but for the most part we'd have to take buses. In our 3 weeks in Japan, we took the most number of buses while we were in Kyoto. If you don't mind spending some money or just want a more convenient time, you could use taxi/Uber. But we mostly took buses and walked a lot in Kyoto.
@@SofieAndStephen thanks, I really enjoy your videos, and will be using them in my decision making for Japan. Since I am taking a short trip, I am stressing on how much I can fit in. That's why if you can link your locations it would be so great... so after Monkey Park, we took the bus to Nijo Castle which took a half hour or something like that. If you ever tour San Francisco, look me up.
@@lchew2001 How many days do you have in Kyoto? I'd recommend just hitting the main spots that we went to: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkakuji Temple, Nijo Castle, Arashiyama area, Kiyomizu-dera, Gion District, Yasaka Shrine. Kyoto really isn't that big so I think even if you had 2 or 3 days you could easily hit all the main spots. Went to San Fran about 7 or 8 years ago and hoping to be back there soon :)
The deer will steal your heart! 😍
