Sharla and Ushka = wholesome fun! It's like watching your besties on tv! Shopping, eating, crafting and cultural experiences - love it!! Thank you for sharing your joy with us 🧡
Your videos are giving me the motivation to get my passport and start planning a trip to Japan! Your videography is great and you really help emphasise how beautiful the country is, keep it up!💖
Although I know Japan doesn't have Thanksgiving, it is Thanksgiving here today and I'd like to wish you Sharla, Chris, Maro, Tuna, and your friends, a day of Happiness and Togetherness. Happy Thanksgiving in spirit.
I feel like you've put more Japanese up on the screen in this video than usual and I just wanted to say as someone learning Japanese I really enjoyed this! ❤
I'm really glad Kyoto is rebounding with tourists allowed to visit again. It was pretty dire when Japan was closed, Kyoto was a ghost town and the city was facing bankruptcy. As much as the locals may dislike the endless streams of gaijin, the visitors sure do prop up the economy. I was lucky enough to visit Kyoto one November and it was stunning. I would love to go back, we only had one day there and it was not enough! Loved the video, really enjoyed seeing all the cool stuff you two bought!
Sharla, your videos are unrivalled!! Despite there being quite a few vloggers in Japan, yours are always so refreshing and unique. You have a lovely personality that really shines through the camera :) thank you for sharing with us!!
There has been soo many persons Sharla has made videos with over the years. Some more interesting than others... But this duo and these type of videos are just the best to be honest. You both seme to have fun in a real way. I just can't imagine TH-cam without Sharla.
I've been watching you and Chris and Tokidoki Emma for like a billion years now and I still look at a video like this one with my jaw open and eyes stuck to the screen. How can it be so pretty. Shedding tears at my silly little work desk. Need to see Japan at least once in my lifetime.
My wife and I love your videos! We also watch Abroad in Japan. And when we found out you 2 got together we were way more excited than maybe we should have been! Bless you both. We love you guys. Thank you @Sharmeleon for all of your fantastic content! 💕💕😻
I adored the happy coats 👘, the ring making 💍 (which I hope that Mr Affable likes). I also loved the neko 😻 incense burner. You got a great haul there Sharla 👏 🫶
It's lovely to explore the little (by Japanese standards) towns and villages with the Shinkansen. There are endless little cute neighborhoods and hidden gems to explore all over Japan.
Nishiki Market is the bomb! The water in the sento there is extra hot, but totally great after a long hike. The stamp that looks like stacked wifi symbols is a traditional design called seigaiha. They represent waves
14:06 Glad to see the stamp shop survived Covid as well. I have visited that shop every time I am in Kyoto since at least over 16 years ago. 🥺 I love that place.
Love Kyoto. Went to Japan back in 2016 and 2018 and we stayed in Kyoto for 11 days both times. Such a beautiful place, everything just felt so laid back when compared to Tokyo. We stayed about a 15 minute walk from the centre to our apartment so it was a nice walk into the main centre. We also went along the Philosopher's path. Wasn't expecting it to be that long and we already had a good walk to get to it, so we were tired afterwards, although the British pub on the way home helped 😂 We went during the start of the Cherry Blossoms and the one apartment we had the first year overlooked a river/stream that had them all along. Had an amazing view.
When I went to Kyoto there was this delicious Mochi place that was next to the Imamiya-jinja shrine. You can watch the nice ladies cook the mochi in front of the store!
Transition from 3:22ish to 3:25 was perfect. Just you two commenting on resisting the kimono, I guess, and then next scene to you wearing them without an explanation needed. And I have to look online for these for my kids.
Why are your videos so warm, homey, natural and wholesome Sharlaaa~ 😭✨ I've lived in Kyōto for a couple years now and I was jumping in my seat when I saw you went to the EXACT same Ringram DYI store in Nishiki Market I went to, with same exact same staff, I recognize her! What a small world!🐇
Sharla got that proper Japanese. I think I stuttered "Eki stampuru doko desuka?" or something like that. I got 12 stamps back in April and got pretty good at spotting the little booths in Tokyo at the JR stations. 😅
Aweee that old lady sounds awesome ☺️. I'd probably do that too when I'm old if i had a nice place like that to be around. I love conversating and trying to make people smile
I took a jewelry making class in college. I am not an artistic person by any means, but it was so fun and relaxing compared to my other courses. I even got an A! Kyoto seems like a beautiful place.
I think this is my first comment in more than 7 years of watching your videos, back when you were on the old YT channel. Just wanted to say thank you for the lovely content!
USHKA IS AWESOME, she has a smile that would light up any room. What a lovely wholesome woman. 2 amazing amazing ladies and another fab video. Hello from me and my 5 cats, tushka, Takara, teeko, tora and takeo xxx
Hahaha! So much for "resisting" the cat jacket! Cute though. Still very green. Probably why it's less crowded. Full on koyo would see edge to edge people on that pathway. Which is an experience in itself. Don't go to Japan if you want to be 'alone" or enjoy scenery without people. Best to simply embrace the mass. The stamp is waves/water.
The sugar/salt senbei from that place in Nishiki are SO good. And that rayu furikake is S-tier (luckily we can get it in Osaka too!) I bought probably $100 of stuff from the stamp store as well. If you like doing DIY things you should check out Bonchi next time you're in Kyoto. You get to make the cutest mini food sculptures out of clay! (Also requires reservations but English-friendly.)
I always enjoy all of your videos, but the ones with Ushka are particularly just nice and fun and like hanging out. The kimonos are just a hoot and I love them on you both! Good decision 😄
I love the not saying a word on it but one cut it states trying to resist buying it then the next Sean not only are 1 of you waring it but both of yall and your carring on as if that didn't just happen. Highlight of the video. They look amazing btw
I’ve been waited all day to have tile and watch your video. The cat kimonos 😱❣️ I want all the gifts ahah. Your video made my day so much better ❣️❣️❣️ Oh my god the fabric with the black cat. So my beloved Merghez 😍
Always welcome finding an unexpected place that does an amazing cheese steak. Especially in bad weather - a nice meat bomb like that and a reminder of home can be like balm for the soul.
What a lovely trip you got to share with Ushka! that looks very fun and you found so many amazing little trinkets! Japan have sooooooo many gorgeous stationary! hard to resist (like the kimono lol) !!
you have to give Ushka and Sharla credit, running any business takes a lot of work and a lot of effort and the fact that they're able to do it and the fact that they have become so successful is proof that they are a dynamic duo! 👍😊🇳🇿🇨🇦
My favorite part about watching you travel is when you eat or drink something your eyes tell me everything I need to know about how it tastes instantly. It is amazing you have the best expressions, probably means you have a bad poker face but when it comes to food I don't care. The honesty is in your face! ❤
fun fact: Ishiguro Ayako is horror mangaka Junji Ito's wife! she is honestly one of my favorite artists, her work is harder fo get here in the US and I hope to be able to pick something of hers up from Japan someday!! I do have an art book by her I recommend tho! :)
I loce the relationship you hace with Uchka ( not sure about the spelling), it's nice and refreshing of a friendship, compared to some people you dealt with in the past.
Sharla, my husband and I were in Kyoto last week and decided to follow your route on the Philosopher’s Path to both enjoy the scenery and also find the cat happi featured in this video. After a bit of a walk and looking in various stores we found them!! We also ate lunch at the cheesesteak place, which for others is right by the store that sells the cat happi, and agree it was quite good. (We’ve been to Kyoto several times and didn’t feel bad about going all the way to Kyoto and eating cheesesteaks haha.) We didn’t make rings and instead walked from the end of the path to the Kyocera Museum of Art where there’s a big Takashi Murakami exhibit which was excellent. Thank you for such a great Kyoto itinerary idea! We had a wonderful and memorable day following シャーラの道.
The comedic timing of you trying to resist the kittie kimono and then BOTH of you wearing it in the next shot…omg, Sharla, you are a genius 🤣🤣🤣💀
I laughed SO hard at that.
Haha, I came here to comment the same thing!
Haha It's so subtle it's hilarious :'D
I had to go back and watch it again....LOL!
I loved this part!! XD
You trying to resist that kimono then wearing it in the next shot made me laugh out loud 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Show me how to say no to this/I don't know how to say know to this~ 😂
Same! Lol!
same i was dying and also so jealous, love those colours!
I did that too!
I love when you two are together. When I see Ushka I know it's going to be an extra wholesome time!
Sharla and Ushka = wholesome fun! It's like watching your besties on tv! Shopping, eating, crafting and cultural experiences - love it!! Thank you for sharing your joy with us 🧡
Ushka seems like such a sweet person!
I don’t wear jewelry either, but if my woman handmade me a ring, I would never take it off. And you’re Depeche Mode fan?
Chris is a lucky man indeed.
I love having dinner and watching Sharla enjoy everything she sees and tries out, it's just the positive vibes you need after a long day 😊
facts, as a student eating dinners alone, watching sharla or other tokyo creative creators is such a vibe
@@higoodbye7545agree! 🤍
Add to to that, teachers eating dinner alone 🤗
Every time Ushka appears in a video it’s like seeing your favourite cousin you only get to see once a year on special occasions. She’s so lovely. 🤍
i agree 100% ☺️
I love Ayako Ishiguro’s work! Also crazy fact, she's married to Junji Ito!
WHAT I had no idea! How cool!! Coolest couple ever!! 😍
Your videos are giving me the motivation to get my passport and start planning a trip to Japan! Your videography is great and you really help emphasise how beautiful the country is, keep it up!💖
Thanks for the kind words!! I hope you get a chance to visit soon 😍
The kimonos are gorgeous. Love the colours and the print. The incense cat is fabulous. I love the look on the cat’s face.
me too! been learning Japanese on Duolingo 286 straight days so far.

9:08 they're talking about Chris and Sharla's watch lights up revealing Chris as her wallpaper is so cute!
I feel like you've put more Japanese up on the screen in this video than usual and I just wanted to say as someone learning Japanese I really enjoyed this! ❤
Good to know it was helpful!! I’ll keep doing it when i mention Japanese words :)
@@sharlainjapan naww yay! I'd love this 😀

True. You can sense good vibes through the camera.
I came here to say exactly this.
Ushka is such a lovely person. The ring making segment was great!
The ring making experience was so wholesome and I love that they also have English speaking staff. What an awesome one of a kind Kyoto souvenir!!

yea another sharla/Ushka vlog!! 😁👍🇯🇵🇨🇦🇳🇿
The serotonin boost I got from this video... Looks like you two had an AMAZING day! Take care (and good luck with the sewing in advance hehe)!
That lemon ramen goes on _the list_ , thanks Sharla & Ushka. Lovely vlog, new and interesting ideas 🙇♂

Honestly love you and ushkas friendship thanks for sharing something so special.
Philly representation in Kyoto let's gooooooooo!!
Another good quote from DM:
And I will go down on my knees

I'm one of the devout
I tell you, the cut between appreciating the cat coat and both of you casually rocking two of them made me cackle!
Sharla got that proper Japanese. I think I stuttered "Eki stampuru doko desuka?" or something like that. I got 12 stamps back in April and got pretty good at spotting the little booths in Tokyo at the JR stations. 😅

Kyoto was 100% my favorite part of my two weeks in Japan absolutely stunning in the fall (was literally just last week). I miss it dearly.
*trying really hard to resist the cat robe* - I see you couldn't resist for long! It looks lovely!
Maybe i missed this in another vlog but did you change from being a vegetarian?

Did the ring fit Chris? love Kyoto!
The stamp at 18:38 those are scales. You see them on traditional Japanese Dragon or Koi art pieces and tattoos.
Your content is more different to me on what is cool in Japan. I like it for that reason and so I just suscribed to your TH-cam.

"Trying to resist..." Next scene -- wearing the cat kimonos 🤣🤣🤣
Love it! I haven't heard a Depech Mode reference in years! I love that band! Enjoy the silence Sharla!
The jump cut from "trying to resist" to wearing the cat kimono was the best.
The cut to you two wearing the Happi Coats after trying to resist buying them was so funny 😂 They are so cute!
