The fact that Celeste isn't featured here at all (rightly so though) made me realize how different and outstanding that character/performance was when compared to these other great performances, and maybe that's why Kidman was the standout of the series in terms of award success. Celeste wasn't here just to deliver some quick punchline or be a scene-stealer, she existed in a very different way in the series to these other women. No surprise she became the heart and soul of both seasons when they finished.
same with Shailene's character... i feel like they were both a little more serious and had shared trauma

And I know Meryl Streep’s character is the antagonist but unfortunately there’s some truth to her behind some of her words and behaviours . Her perception of Madeleine was pretty accurate.
