Big little lies and Nicole Kidman's character's story was 90% of the impetus for me leaving my abuser. It was like watching my life. I thank God for Big Little Lies; it saved my life.

It’s literally the only thing I’ve seen that accurately portrays abuse. Most movies and shows just make this out to be this big bad villain who is just evil all the time for the sake of it. That’s not real life. BLL hit the nail on the head

I think they're all in different categories (the ones mentioned in this thread). I think Moss will win lead in drama series; Lange might win lead in a limited series (sorry Susan Sarandon, Lange just had a little more); for BLL I'm not so sure if it's considered a limited series or a series (I WANT A SEASON TWO, SO I'M HOPING SERIES), and if it's limited then Kidman takes supporting in limited series (since the Regina King was given shit to work on on this season of American Crime-- I'm so mad about this season). Kidman could also be lead for BLL in limted series, but I feel Witherspoon and Woodley have a better shot for lead. I don't know this season it's going to be good! There's Freida Pinto in Guerrilla, Issa Rae in Insecure (although her category might be comedy) and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON WITH GAME OF THRONES LOL can't wait for these roundtables

They have alot of material to develop, the last section of the novel is about the wives dealing with guilt of the incident at the trivia night in addition to other secrets that were kept.
First season - Shame
Second season - Gulit
Third season (if they do it) - Betrayal
She looks like an actual angel, when I imagine an ethereal higher being - she’s what comes to my mind. She’s so graceful and deliberate with her mannerisms, her voice is so beautiful and she’s just so effortless.

Came here after binge watching “Big little lies” I loved all of the characters and performances, specially Meryl’s. But that made me wonder what other actresses would’ve also been perfect for that role and I came up with Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange, and Jessica is sitting here next to Nicole in this.

It was really hard to watch those scenes when her hubby was there. I covered my eyes with my hand sometimes, like when you're watching a horror movie! But that was horror too, literally.
It's eerie how this movie came out around the same time of MeToo and TimesUp. Emotional and physical abuse. Sometimes things are meant to be. This TV role has the potential to be Nicole's defining mark in spite of her movie roles. She has touched people in Lies on a scale that her movie roles haven't, Lies will be Nicole's signature role for sure.

i had a low key crush on Nicole for DAAAAYS after i binged big little lies. idek why, i just couldn't get over her.

You can tell from her later performances she brings her life experiences into her roles.
Some of her early movie roles left me cold bc there was this void.
But in the last 10 years I can see and feel her transformation and growth as an actor.

It's strange. As far as I'm aware, Scientologists are banned from communicating with Kidman, who is not only a SP, but a high-profile enemy of the Church and an unabashed Catholic.

I don't think she was officially "declared". In any event, they will bend the rules for celebs that they'd enforce on regular joes to an inch of their lives. Hence why Cruise is still allowed to see Suri. Why J-Lo's dad can still see his daughter (who's best buds with Leah Remini).

Just watched “big little lies” and WOW. I know Nic is a great actress but after watching her scenes with the domestic violence, I wonder if she’s experienced something like that with her first husband. The scenes were just too real

I feel that Nicole won big for her role rather than her interpretation of the role. She played Celeste like she's played almost ALL of her roles. I just don't think that Kidman is one of the acting greats that the media make her out to be.
She's also had 20+ years to perfect her standard American accent and has just rested on her laurels and it's all over the place as it was in the 90s. I truly don't understand the success of this actress.

I don't think Reese is a bad actress, I actually like her in more quiet roles like Wild and Mud, but she also embarrasses herself a lot.
Reese was listed on Premiere magazine's top 100 performances of all time for Election. She's a great actress.
Tooty Futts She was awful in Mud. Even the kids outacted her. The theater I was in even erupted in laughter during her crying scene. She was just miscast. She never allows herself to take challenges.
